Our stay was perfect! Matthew was an amazing host, always stayed in contact with us and responded very quickly. The house was beautiful and very spacious for our very large family. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. We came for our son's wedding, and we couldn't have asked for an amazing spectacular weekend. The house was clean, had all amenities, the rooms were over the top large, an individual bathroom for everyone. It was so relaxing by the pool and spa, and BBQing was fabulous as we ate on the very spacious patio. Our grandkids had the best time swimming and enjoying the grounds. This beautiful home and the extremely gracious host Matthew were perfect!! We look forward to returning for our vacations with our big family. Thank you, Matthew, for making our trip for our sons wedding the best memories we could ask for. Ciao.

Based on another person's recommendation, we booked our birthday celebration stay with Matthew/Hidden Garden and we had a wonderful stay. The property (inside & out) was maintained, clean, and easy access to all Amador has to offer. Matthew was timely communicative with any and all questions. I highly recommend staying at Hidden Garden or other properties offered by Matthew.

We had many friends join for a pool party and we loved the house. It has everything we needed and more to have a comfortable stay. Thanks to the host, who was super hospitable!

I originally planned on booking this for my husband’s birthday but decided to also book it for my older brother since their birthday is only two days apart. It was eight couples and we all had such a wonderful time here. The place was huge and we had a lot of privacy. So many friends want to book this home after seeing my pictures and videos. I have nothing but but only good things to say about this place. The house was also the most equip home I ever stayed in. I brought extra supplies like toilet paper, shampoo, pots, and pan and I didn’t even need it. Matthew was also very responsive. We all love our stay here. It was an enjoyable weekend.

Hands down this place exceeded our expectations and it definitely was accommodating we didnt need much as it was all at the house already. And it was so peaceful and being there was like home .. literally everything was prepped in all the room's. I definitely will be coming back and checking out other properties Matthew has to share .. he was so commutative with such a fast response.. Thanks for a great weekend getaway..

House is great, highlights are the definitely the pool area, kitchen, and the bedrooms. Matthew the host was super helpful and responsive. The property used to be a bed and breakfast, so the common areas are a bit disjointed for a large group to watch TV, but it isn’t an issue (and the large dining room and table was great). Will definitely return!

The house has a lot of space and sitting areas inside and out. Spent most of our time by the pool hanging out BBQing. Lots of space to walk around. We had a great time. The host Matthew is very responsive and accommodating. Thank You!

The family wanted to celebrate father’s retirement and 70 th birthday by taking him somewhere where he could go to various wineries over the Memorial Day weekend. There were so many wineries close to each other and close to this house near Plymouth. We all had a great time—the adults going wine tasting and the kids having a fun time in the house. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen stocked with everything we could need to make meals. Because the house is so large there were places for everyone to hang out. It was too cold to use the pool unfortunately

Very secluded property. Lots of space to walk in the fresh air. Beautiful outside gathering area. We didn’t stay long enough but wished we could have, as we didn’t get to enjoy the pool.

Our stay was wonderful. The house was extremely well stocked, (even all of the fireplaces). Many seating areas inside and out. Very comfortable beds, clean linens. Matt and Courtney were both very responsive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Matthew's property. He is an engaging and friendly host, offering help if we needed it. And he has a beautiful and friendly dog, Ruby. The house itself is huge with several smaller sitting areas for cozy gatherings. The fireplaces were set up for having fires and we definitely took advantage of that - it was cold outside! The kitchen is very well-stocked, although it does take a while to figure out where everything is located. The beds are quite comfortable and each room we occupied had its own bath. Our only issue was the size of the house resulted in the water in the bathrooms taking a while to reach each room and get hot enough for taking showers - a minor inconvenience. We all highly recommend staying there, enjoying the outdoors and the amazing interior.

After a major issue with getting into the property (a change was sent out via email after I had left for the destination, and there was no internet connection in the region at the time), we enjoyed this well appointed place. It is in the PERFECT location to enjoy many of the wineries in the region. The house is very dated and some areas need repair but the beds were comfortable and the living areas were large and convenient for games and large dinners. The owners were very accommodating and kind and did their best to rectify the check-in issue. I would recommend this property! I would like to point out that there is an exorbitant hidden fee to heat the pool, should you want a heated pool. Maybe that should have been disclosed in the listing?

We had a wonderful 2 night stay, the house was amazing! Matthew was great to deal with and quick to respond to any questions that we had. We plan to get our group together for another stay soon.

We had a wonderful time. Beautiful property with lots of room. It was fun because it has unusual architecture but very comfortable would stay there again.

We are a repeat traveler to this VRBO, and it is perfect for our group of friends looking to spend some time together and get away on a vacation. The home is well maintained, is large and spacious, and has amenities for adults and for children. Our kids said they wanted to stay there until the summer, and although we can't do that, we said we could definitely return sometime. It is a pleasure working with Matthew who is a helpful and generous host.

We rented Matthew’s place for new year celebration and family get together and his place is really good and nicely maintained. Planning to come back again in summer! This is more of a summer place than winter 🏡. Everything was good!

We all loved Hidden Garden, what a great property! Matthew went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

What an incredible property! The kitchen was, of course, the gathering place for everyone. I have never seen such a well stocked kitchen. Beautiful dinnerware and enough wineglasses to set an elegant table. The beds were amazing! Everyone in the family remarked on the comfortable beds. Location is just perfect. Close to wineries, Sutter Creek etc. Separate sitting areas were perfect for a quiet escape. We will definitely be back! Great experience. Thank you Michael!

This house was perfect! The location was fantastic and accommodated our group of 11 girls with room to spare! It is truly in the middle of everything Plymouth wineries have to offer. We will be back!!

We really enjoyed all the space! I wish we had more time to hang out at the house but we were there for our daughter’s wedding and so it was limited. But, the time we were there, we were able to spread out and relax!

This property is a very private, beautiful and secluded and in an excellent location for Amador wine tasting. The architecture is very interesting…would love the backstory on it! There is a grocery store and some restaurants in Plymouth within 9 minutes of the house. Pros-Matthew was very responsive. It was the most well stocked kitchen/house I have ever been in with plenty of spaces for people spread out. There is no ice maker, but a large bag of ice was left for us—thank you! Lots of ziplocks/storage, spices, pots, pans and large sets of dishes and flatware to ensure your large group has what it needs. The beds (mattresses) and towels were excellent! Great house for large group! There is a large table outside overlooking the pool for breakfast/dinner seating. CONS-these are just a few maintenance things that I would want to know as a property manager myself— we found it very “dark” inside the house (except for the kitchen where it was very bright). It could use some new, brighter, LED lights in the dining room (for game playing table), the family room and also for the bedrooms and inside the closets, as most of them are quite dark during the day and night. And that was with the dimmers all the way up to bright. Some of the chair bottoms in kitchen need replaced as a couple of them were feeling like one could fall through it. It would be very nice to have more seating in the area where the TV was (maybe a sectional?) and lastly, there are a few bats living up in the corner of the door where you first enter the house by the lock. I know they’re good for mosquitos, but a little too close for comfort. Thank you Matthew for a fun and memorable 90th birthday celebration on your property!

We came to area for our nieces wedding and there was 14 of us including little ones. We enjoyed the large kitchen and outside gathering areas. There was plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone. The beds are super comfy and the rooms were a great size. The kids loved the master bath. The surrounding areas are beautiful and short distances to the nearby wineries. We enjoyed our stay and had a great time with family. The Dotsons

Hosts were great and very helpful with our large group. House had lots of quiet spots to relax as well as space for our large group of friends and family to gather to eat and visit. We loved the quirky history of the house.

Huge roomy wonderful house with everything you need to make you feel at home. Set in remote gorgeous woodsy surroundings. Plenty of room for my whole family. Kids had a ball in the beautiful pool. I loved walking the trail and seeing and hearing nature all around. The host Matthew is a sweetheart and so helpful and very accommodating when I had a question. We will be going back next year in the spring.
