Went here for a ski trip with friends and had an amazing time. The view is even more spectacular in person and the pool table was a great place to hang out after hitting the slopes!

-1 star for false advertisement -1 star for a leak The welcome book says we have access to amenities for $15 per person which was not true. “Included with your rental are two guest cards providing access to the amenities available in Tahoe Donner. Each guest card allows access for up to four guests over the age of 6. While this can change, guest access fees are currently $15 per person per day.” Included in this list of amenities are donner downhill ski resort so we planned our Sunday to get ready for a ski day. We're all geared up and when we get there they tell us the lift ticket is $86 per person even with the guest card. If we had known it was $86 we wouldn't have wasted our Sunday getting ready. We would have planned for something else. We turned around and went back to the house to play in the yard. Secondly there was a water leak coming from the ceiling in the downstairs tv room.

One of the best vacation house I visited. It has everything you need: heated floors, a lot of restroom, a lot of space, BBQ grill, hot tub outside, two hot tubs inside, pool table, fusbol table, internet, TVS. Without the view this place is a 5 star place already. Unfortunately I can't give more than 5 stars. I definitely recommend this place.

The good: 1. The view! It is a spectacular setting. 2. This place is huge with generous common areas and easily accommodates multiple families. 3. The hot tub, pool table, and foosball were loved by all guests 4. The hill right outside our backdoor was perfect for sledding The less good 1. It seems like one day isn't enough time to turn a house this big around between guests--when we came there were linens in the dryer and a huge load of dishes in the dishwasher. It took us a day to figure out why there weren't enough towels or dishes. 2. This may seem minor, but we came in the evening ready to cook dinner and there wasn't any salt. This meant we had to spend 40 minutes (20 minutes there and back) in the snow driving to Truckee to buy salt. We left some for the next guests, but this seems an important item to provide for the price point of this place. Most guests would expect salt, sugar, maybe cooking oil? None of that was there, so come prepared for anything. 3. Although the kitchen had almost everything we needed, the organization was chaotic and it took us a while to get it all sorted out. Items are old and need updating (e.g., broken tea kettle) 4. This place feels like a rental without the special touches owners who visit frequently would consider or provide. 5. We were snowed in and snowed out (e.g., we couldn't get back home after skiing) because the street is the last to be snowplowed and then the snow in the driveway was too high to get out on New Year's Eve even after multiple guests shoveling on and off all day. All this is not the fault of the rental company, it's just something to know if you stay here--the location is a double edged sword in that it is spectacular, but can be hard to reach if there's a storm. I wish we'd paid more attention to the weather so we'd realized we wouldn't be able to get in or out for most of a day. That being said, we were there for a huge storm, so our circumstances were likely unusual! And again, I don't think I would have any of these complaints if the place weren't so expensive. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we would recommend it.

We stayed there for 4 days. It had everything that we needed for our little getaway with our friends and family. Each of the couples had our own room with a nice full bathroom. The only complaint we have is the kitchen utensils which were quite disorganized and we couldn’t find one pair of scissors. 😊

Beautiful home with beautiful views but disappointingly not vacationer friendly at this price point to purposefully enjoy. The dining chairs were underwhelming and limited for an expansive home (2) of which we were afraid to use due to delicacy. The kitchen provisions to cook were minimal and low quality and how do you have 12 guests and only 11 knives to work with in total... equating to constantly wash tableware. The great room is beautiful but not furnished for a large gathering to be together (12 quests vs. 6 seating) These limitations in turn limited our enjoyment. With just a few minor upgrades, this rental could go from ok to fabulous and leave a guest filling they truly received value for the dreams they had spent $ for and had hoped to create.
