everything was fine with the property clean and pleasant.. The problem we had was in the parking lots someone tried to open our cars breaking some parts of our cars, we called the office and they said they couldn't do anything because they don't have cameras in that area and that we will call The police should then install cameras.

The size and location of the house is what attracted us to the Crown Jewel. We had issues from checking in to garbage collection. There was no communication with the management company, we had to seek them out on a holiday to check in. And no directions were given as to where garbage goes, what needs to be done prior to check out.... nothing
The entire house is slanted. The refrigerator is broken and on a wedge in attempt to level it, 1000% needs to be replaced. The hot tub wasn't full and leaking all over the lower deck. Very few pots and pans in the kitchen, we had to bring our own. Several light fixtures were broken or not working along with towel racks and toilet paper holders. The couches are terribly uncomfortable and the loveseat stunk like urine. The absolute best part was seeing a bear out the back deck. I'd consider staying again if there was a new management company and the house was kept up. This house is not a crown jewel.

Bed was broken, kitchen sink clogged, dinning table would give you a splinter, no hot water on main floor bathroom, very small pans and no pots to cook, remotes didn’t work not to mention the filth! Dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed! Management had no contact even when I emailed them then they said “it was only reported as dirty” so they wouldn’t even try to make it right….even though when I called, I did tell them of some of the broken things. I have pictures of the gross cabin!

The property was as listed, but you can definitely tell it has been abused in the past. One of the bed framed is broken and leans. The heat in the basement wasn't working and at some point we had a leak through the basement ceiling. The communication with the management company was great. They sent someone to look at our issues. The problem is that nothing can be done if it will cost more than $300 (everything costs more than $300 these days).
The Cabin worked for us because we were always on the go, but it could use a refreshing.

There aren't enough dishes, pans. We couldn't make one meal during our stay. The entire house has settled whereas everything is on a slant. The fridge broken shelving. No blankets. Water cold when taking showers. Every negative comment people have made was never addressed by Venture or owner. Would not recomment staying here. So sad no one cares enough to fix this house, which has so much potential.

Hot tub not filled and ready to go, there is a fee added for use so I felt should have been ready, after they came to fill no chemicals were added therefore it was smelling nasty 🤮 the next day, remotes to tv had no batteries to use in bedroom’s, do sweeper to clean up littles messes and we had a good share of them no hot water in downstairs shower, downstairs sink was very aggressive just lots of updating needing done as well

When we arrived, it was apparent that “bears” had been there. Garbage that was not placed in the bear-proof containers and bear poo, was all over the front deck and parking lot. Called that in, it took approx. 8 hours for someone to come out and clean it up.
The floors were filthy dirty… DO NOT, I repeat wear white socks, unless you plan on keeping your shoes on throughout your whole stay.
I was also disappointed that for an 8 BR house, the largest skillet they had was a 5” fry pan. No cookie sheets either, to try bacon in the oven. How do you feed people in an 8BR house, with 1 small fry pan. Breakfast alone was a 2 hour revolution, with bacon, sausage and eggs!
We could never get the fireplace to light. By the time we tried, we didn’t want to wait for a maintenance man. Dryer took almost 3 hours to dry sheets and towels (heating element out?)
The view from the back decks was beautiful.

Nice Property. The communication with the property manager could have been better. I wasn’t told about the creating a separate account for the company and uploading my DL until I called a few days out to ask about getting access. Simple things such as broom and dish towels were not existent. A home that houses 14 plus people needs a broom. Also once I called maintenance about the few items to be addresses the person was prompt but never returned to actuallly address the issues.

Not what the pictures show!
After checking in, we laughed (we had to or else we would have cried). The by-line is "Where Luxury Meets the Smokies". Not this cabin! There were no comforters, nor pillowcases on most of the beds. . There were no blinds in some windows. The chests of drawers in multiple bedrooms were broken, missing handles, and badly damaged. The refrigerator had no shelf guards on the door rendering it unusable, the shelves were broken and sagging, and there were no crisper drawers. The remotes had batteries taped in, if they had batteries at all. We didn't even find a remote for the downstairs TV. The pinball machine didn't work.
On a good note: The space was nice. The hot tub was nice. The resort pool was nice, and the resort management staff was great and helpful. I would stay at this resort (The Cabins Of The Smoky Mountains) again...just not in this cabin.

Crown Jewel missing a few jewels
I had left several messages about the property but Venture resorts NEVER answered. Called a spike to a nice man who answered my question. When we got there they ask for you to go through the house and take pictures of any issues. I called to report about a broken toilet and several door knobs coming off. After I called again the guy showed up with a screwdriver! We had already fixed the door knobs to make them useable. The hot tub needed water and shocking. He fixed that. He told use he would have to come back the next day to fix the toilet because he needed a new part. He never returned. All but one of the bedrooms have French doors leading to the balcony. They just don’t have working blinds or curtains. No sleeping in! No bed bugs but not all the beds are comfortable. Forget about using any of the pullouts they don’t work! Sofa isn’t even comfortable to sit on! If your cooking for 2 you have plenty of dishes and pots. We were cooking for 15 so had to go purchase pans. There is no broom or vacuum to use. I will rethink using Venture Resorts for renting again. At checkout the man had no idea. Told me that he had no record of us being there!! Had no idea what I needed to do

Dont pick this cabin
I reserved this cabin almost a year in advance. At that time the reviews were good. Closer to check in I looked at the reviews again. They were not good so I got worried. Well let me tell you the reviews were not bad enough. I called no less than 10 times. twice I was on hold for so long it told me to leave a message. (thats after 30 min) twice I was told they would call me right back once they had an ETA. (never happened) Here are the problems we had. (not all but the worst)
As soon as you walk in you can tall the whole cabin leans from front to back. Doors wont stay open. The fridge didnt have any drawers or shelves in the door. With the leaning house nothing could be stored in the door bc it would fall out. The kitchen has no pot holders for getting food out of the oven, not enough silverware for the 18 it claims to sleep, tiny sauce pans so we had to buy our own just to cook. The down stairs air was out. We arrived on Saturday and called that night. Someone came Sunday but never came inside. Called again Monday to be told it was fixed while it wasnt. Called 3 more times that day to finally get someone out at 10 pm. He left at 1am with the issue still not resolved. Someone else finally showed up Tuesday to get air downstairs.
One of the 3rd floor showers leaked into the second floor bathroom. That was never fixed. There were no extra blankets for the fold out couches. We did get those the second day. 2 of the third floor rooms had missing blinds on the windows. Something died in the ceiling on the third floor. That room had to leave the windows open all day to try and air it out. Never went away. The hot tub leaked onto the bottom floor deck. The furniture was completely worn out in the living room. The cushions sank at least 6 inches when you sat down. The floor was so gross that you couldnt walk barefoot without turning your feet black and there was no mop for us to try and clean the floors. The floors creak so bad on the second floor that the bottom floor could hear every step all night.
The pool on the property was disgusting. It was so murky that you couldnt see the bottom and had a terrible BO smell.
The "grill" out front was embarrassing.
Positives - the game room kept our kids occupied
- we got our extra blankets before second night sleep.
- We did get a sizable refund

Checked in on Monday evening. No blinds in one room and missing some in another. Called office and requested blinds and extra towels. Received towels at 11:30pm after we were in bed, did not ever get blinds. Had to hang a sheet over the windows. Found bed bugs Tuesday morning in the bed. Called office at 8am to report that and that the lower level air conditioner did not work. Maintenance came around noon and confirmed the bed bug issue and addressed the air conditioner. I received a call from the office within an hour after maintenance left stating that due to the bed bug confirmation they were going to move us into another cabin in Pigeon Forge. I was told I would get a phone call when it was ready for us and at 5:30 I had to call the office to ask about it because no one had called me. We packed up and moved to the new cabin. We had 17 people in our group so this was not an easy task. It was about 7:30pm when we checked in to the new cabin and after buying groceries for 17 people, we found that the refrigerator did not work at all and the air conditioners were not keeping up. Called the office immediately after finding these issues to report them. Someone came the next morning (Wednesday) to look at the fridge and he told us he would be back with the part to fix it. He never did return and we had to buy ice and coolers to hold our food. Maintenance came about 5:30 pm Wednesday to look at the air conditioner. After 3 days we still do not have a working fridge and with checking out Friday morning, we do no expect to have one that works. The TV in the theater room also does not work. No pot holders , kitchen towels or even a broom in this cabin either. Over half of our group drove 16 hours to get here and to say we are disappointed is an understatement. We have spent our vacation dealing with major health and safety issues as well as maintenance issues and have not been able to enjoy our stay to the full extent that we expected.

Our family of 10 rented a cabin for a week. The pictures on the website were obviously very old because the cabin was run down and did not look like the photos. Everything from the dressers, fridge to the hot tub were missing parts or broken. The hot water was luke warm. The worst part was, the cabin had a really strong odor upon arrival. We requested someone to come check it out repeatedly Saturday, Sunday and Monday with no help. They sent one maintenance guy over who offered to bring air fresheners but didn't inspect anything. On Monday evening, while putting little kids to bed, we discovered maggots in the children's bed. The smell was definitely coming from some sort of animal or something decaying in the walls right next to this bed. They moved us to a new house at about 11pm, but told us that cabin was only available a couple of days and we'd have to move again on Thursday morning. They emailed us a few choices to move to on Thursday but when we emailed back (we immediately replied) they never replied. I spent the next 2 days calling, waiting on hold, asking where we were supposed to go on Thursday.I spent 3 hours on the phone with them Wednesday. They moved us to a house that was 19 miles away that had some construction going on but had been cleaned up. We were told we had to out of the 2nd house by 10am and the 3rd house wouldn't be ready right away. We packed all our food into the one cooler we had, bought ice, packed all of our belongings AGAIN. They would not discuss compensation or refunded days until we were checking out on Saturday, I was told we could do it over the phone. I asked the manager I spoke with if she worked on Saturday & if she was the one who would be handling it. She said yes, she worked on Saturday and to call her. I left 3 messages for her, no call back. By afternoon I called the main number and they informed me that manager didn't work on weekends and told me to call back Monday after 10am. I called again Monday, left her a message. Repeat Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday. To this date they still will not agree to refund the days we've requested. I would recommended NOT booking with this resort.

The cabin was everything that it displayed but after the second day my sister woke up to bed bugs in her bed. Her room also didn't have any window covers and called and still got nothing. We were accommodated to a bigger cabin but having to go to the laundry mat to heat everything so we wont take any home was a inconvenience. No one else had any problems.

Good location, easy access to Gatlinburg, and since your on the edge of town, it's not hard to get to Pidgeon Forge. The kids had a great time in the game and theater rooms. They really didn't care if they went into town.

I was not impressed with the cabin. Myself along with 17 other co-workers decided to do a weekend retreat. The cabin is located at the bottom of the mountain so there is no view whatsoever other than the road, and a few dingy houses across the street. When entering the cabin the first think I noticed was the carpet had worn and there were lumps in it, and the blinds were super dusty, and the windows needed to be cleaned. (There were handprints everywhere.)
Co-workers of mine complained that the toilet in the basement ran all night making loud noises. They eventually shut the water off.
ALL of the furniture in this cabin needs to be replaced. The beds were so uncomfortable, and the pull out couches were in even worse shape. The dressers are broken to the point that the doors won't shut, and the varnish has come off of most all furniture pieces including the kitchen table. (Not to mention the leaf in the table is broken.)
The cabin appears clean in the pictures, but the baseboards, trim/caulking around the shower are filthy.
The biggest disappointment was the outdoor space, as mentioned previously the views are terrible, but the lack of furniture was even worse. The cabin listing states that it sleeps 18 people (When actuality it's only 17) there were 4 dingy rocking chairs on the main deck, none on the top floor and very few in the basement. We were not able to go outside and enjoy the patio because there was no where to sit. The gazebo was pointless. There was absolutely no furniture whatsoever out there.
And the strangest thing was there were NO BED SKIRTS on the bed. You could literally see the mattresses and box springs. Not to mention the beds were terrible, the sheets felt like sandpaper and the pillows were super cheap and uncomfortable. We were given one little fleece blanket on each bed. (Don't plan a trip for 18, one person will be sleeping on the floor. I even called and spoke to the resort confirming the 18 sleeping spaces because the map only showed 17, but the listing said 18. The resort confirmed the 18, telling me there was a pull out twin sleeper sofa in the living room in addition to the queen pull out sleeper, there was not.)
Oh, and don't forget your toilet paper! They only supply "start up paper" Which tends to be only 4-5 rolls for the 18 people staying at the cabin.
My family has stayed at the resort probably 10 times. This was by far the worst cabin in the entire place that I've seen. Avoid the Crown Jewel

Overall great experience. Would only suggest larger pots and pans to be able to cook for larger groups. Also, some info on where to put the trash. There were no bear containers at our location, but guest services did send someone to come pick it up for us.
