Great experience- outstanding service and a beautiful, conveniently located facility.

Very clean room and very spacious. Lifts were often very slow to arrive when called though. Also had a list of different type of pillows which sounded great as my partner if very picky, was then a bit of a shame to be told didn't have the one after anyway! Otherwise bed was very comfortable, room clean (free mini bar was a nice touch too) and very spacious.

Plugs has been around for a while but it has been renovated and is simply great. Super comfortable rooms, and a sense of tranquility across the whole hotel. Hand’t been there in years. It has changed for the better

We stayed at the Okura for a few days to see Amsterdam prior to our RCCL Cruise. The location allowed us easy access to the bus system so we explored on our own for two days. The hotel is very nice, service friendly and helpful. If you like Japanese food you will truly love the resturaunt.

Great and clean property with prompt and respectful staff. Also there’s a lot to do around the hotel. To one side is a row of restaurants and the other side is the town center. Everything is reachable by biking or walking (bikes are obviously faster and better though). Def recommend this hotel!

Excellent hotel in a terrific location close to the convention center. The staff were extremely helpful, specifically including the concierge(s), the front desk staff, and the bell staff. I would strongly recommend this hotel whether you are attending a convention or even if you are just in town for a leisure trip. The walk into town is about a mile and a half and filled with restaurants, the city outdoor market, and lots of shops. Ask the concierge for restaurant recommendations, as they were on top of their game. The fitness center is relatively well equipped, and open 24/7.

Hotel Okura is an excellently located property if you want to experience Amsterdam without the rowdiness of loud tourists. Located in the De Pjip, the hotel offers convenient access to the museums, good local restaurants, fruit shops and a lovely patisserie if you are into macarons :)
We stayed here for seven days and everything from service to staff were very pleasant. Our room was very clean and beds were comfortable; we did not have a bad night's sleep while there!
We tried both the breakfast restaurant (Le Camelia) and Serre. Food and service at Serre was amazing. The breakfast was great, although not too many options but I am a picky breakfast person.
We did have a reservation for Yamazato on the day we arrived, however, I had a cold so had to cancel our reservation. It is a pity because we love Japanese and wanted to try this place. Oh well, there is next time.
The concierge service was excellent. We rented a boat which was conveniently located at the hotel's own jetty and ventured on a self guided tour, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, we loved our stay because it gave us an insight of a quieter/prettier Amsterdam. We will be back here when we return to Amsterdam!

Providing top-class services steadily. Though a bit away from city center, calmer neighborhood pays off.

I am very impressed with the Okura hotel staff especially the concierge service and everyone else. We arrived very early in the morning. The staff at check in desk understood our situation traveling with my son who has disability, and right away they offered us a room of which we ended up doing an upgrade of which was worth it. The views were spectacular and they helped us get accommodated right away. The concierge service was first class at this hotel. They arranged all my lunches, dinners and tours. The hotel has some amazing restaurants and the room service food is delicious as well. I highly recommend this hotel and is very convenient location as well.

The decor and ambience in the hotel was beautiful, it felt immediately relaxing. The staff were excellent, friendly yet professional and we thoroughly enjoy the complimentary drinks and food in the 22nd lounge bar with amazing views. The pool and spa area were an added treat, very clean and modern facilities.

This is a large and sophisticated international hotel, with all the services and facilities you'd expect from such an institution. But don't be fooled. Nothing could be more considerate and helpful than its service. But not in an historic area of Amsterdam.

We were excited to stay in a premier 5 star hotel with 2 restaurants earning Michelin stars. When we arrived around 3:15pm, our room was not ready (3:00 check-in) as it was still being cleaned. No big deal, they offered us drinks in their lounge on the house. We get to check in, and ask about the restaurants. One is closed seasonally, the other is closed Monday and Tuesday nights. OK, mildly disappointing, and being that it was a last minute reservation, I wasn't really expecting availability to such highly acclaimed restaurants anyway.
We got to the room and the smell of cigarette smoke(or what we thought was cigarette smoke) took over. I was initially far more concerned with the staff thinking we were the culprits and being charged a cleaning fee so we made them aware of the problem. We were told the hotel was fully booked, so the only thing they could offer us was their smallest room with twin beds. I figured we could make it through two nights with the smoke, but I woke up around 2am Tuesday morning barely able to breathe because whatever was in the air was aggravating my sinuses. Should've taken the twin beds.
The rest of the hotel was well taken care of - didn't notice any smoky smell in the lobby, bar, restaurant, hallway, etc.
Oh and they enforce a dress code(no shorts) to the rooftop bar on a warm Tuesday evening but allow little kids to run around the breakfast buffet unaccompanied, screaming and carrying on.
Far better "5 star" hotels to spend your money on.

The overall experience was great!
The room was clean and quiet.
The service was exceptional. The front desk/concierge was very helpful.
We will definitely be back.
This is our home away from home when we are in Amsterdam.

One of the best hotels in Europe. European hotels are generally less know for hospitality and more about churning tourists. This hotel is an exception to the rule. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had a good time. Only suggestion I have to the hotel is having restaurants with an A la Carte menu, every meal does not have to be a 200 euro/ person affair and a pre set menu. Everyone doesn’t eat everything on the preset menu just because they are Micheline star chefs. Every family may not want to spend 800 euro dinner night when you don’t eat half the courses on the menu due to dietary restrictions.
