Lovely little bed-and-breakfast in a great location. Breakfast was fantastic.

What a special place! Enjoyed my single night stay- had a claw foot tub and it was a nice way to end my evening- soaking in a hot bath! Bed was comfy, shades kept room dark till I wanted light. The best part was breakfast- delicious coffee/cream, delicious oj, coffee cake muffins, fruit + hot breakfast was skillfully prepared- a 2 egg tostada with spicy beans. It was a delightful dish I would not have ordered, but now will seek to make at home!

This is a beautiful Inn downtown! The service was great and the breakfast was delicious. We loved that it was downtown so that we could walk to area restaurants and shops.

This aged property needs major upgrades, starting with new flooring (threadbare and stained carpeting in room) and bathrooms (a dangerous old tub with wide walls requiring Twister-like game skills to enter and exit safely). The absence of an elevator looms large when you arrive and realize the number of stairs involved total well over 20 from the street. There is no parking if not handicapped and the local public garage charges $36. The indifferent staff offers no help and few courtesies. Worse still, when I expressed to the morning person my disappointment that the high parking cost had not been disclosed up front, I received lip that I should’ve done more advance research on my own. All in all, I cannot recommend this Inn to anyone but those enamored of sort of upgraded old homes. Okay, more positively, it has an excellent location near to the downtown goings on, new and nice linens on the older bed, a very clean bathroom, and a welcoming parlor area.

There is no parking through the hotel. Parking at the public ramp is $39 a day which needs to be upfront when booking.

My stay was wonderful. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was delicious and staff was nice. Plenty of dinning options within walking distance for lunch and dinner. To my delight, a couple of record stores were also nearby. SLO Amtrak station was proximal enough to walk to/from. Didn’t make use of the terrace due to rare inclement weather but that didn’t bother me. Will definitely stay again the next time I’m in SLO.

This was a very comfortable, clean, convenient facility. Next time in San Luis Obispo I will stay there again.

Great choice as far as location in walking distance to downtown. The room was clean, tidy and very welcoming. Staff was really nice and the cook for breakfast was very talented in making delicious egg scramble. Plenty of coffee, fruit and oj. Dining and living area very quaint and inviting. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing warm and cozy place overnight or several days.

there was work going on, so inconvenient for guests

A lovely small hotel right in the middle of the town (which meant it has no parking of its own, but we found a space on the street only three blocks away). No coffee making facilities in the room, and the jacussi wasn't working, but the breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, the bed was comfortable, and there was a welcome fire burning in the grate. A real delight, charming and well-maintained.

We were excited about staying in a room with a pot belly stove and, we thought, a sunny space with some views. We got a “suite” on an alley , very dark, non working stove, a soaking tub/shower that required us to step across over a foot-wide edge to get in and out, stained carpet, a narrow wardrobe where clothes have to hang at an angle, an old tv with limited channels and a fairly aloof staff. No discount was offered for the major feature we selected the room for. There are some nice sunny rooms but I wouldn’t recommend this inn. There are many nicer places to stay in town

Nice boutique hotel. Breakfast was a nice touch. Minimal furniture, so little room to store or set things. Bed seemed small. Very convenient to downtown SLO.

The Inn is in a great location. Warren room was pleasant and comfortable if not a creaky bed. It had a large jacuzzi soaker tub that looked inviting but did not use. No parking provided was a bummer and no shampoo etc. Bathroom definitely had an odor which was odd. Staff was not friendly but not rude. Also they added a $20 surcharge for some reason??? We liked the area but not sure we would use this place again.

Cute place and breakfast that’s included was so yummy! Carpets were filthy however in most places except our room. Our first room(our town I think it was called ) had a sink and mirror in the bedroom not the bathroom and the sink /faucet were so bad. And the mirror you literally couldn’t see your face the mirror was so old. So not great for putting make up on! Overall the hotel was clean except the carpets. We moved rooms and the dollie Mae was much better.

Horrible customer service. Wanted $25 as early check in fee (1 hr). $19 property fee not included in booking. Breakfast not available until 8 am. Stay elsewhere!!!

Super cute & very close to everything walking distance

I'm sorry to complain but the area carpet under the coffee table in the tv room was filthy. The owner of this establishment needs to go in the lover's room and take a good look . Either get that carpet cleaned or throw it away. My other complaint was the cook took her time to open the breakfast area at 8am she then went quickly back into the kitchen even though she saw we were waiting for her. Didn't tell us what was on the menu just left us there. We left and went down the street to have breakfast. I'm not one to complain but this was a bit much to let go.

Great location and perfect for our trip to SLO.

Our original room was hot. The A/C unit did not appear to be so. The staff was very accommodating and gave us another room. The room Our Town is one I would not recommend. The sink is small and not easy to use and has an A/C issue. The rest are great! Be aware that this hotel does not have elevators and there are stairs to the entrance and to the 2nd floor, which is where all the rooms are located.

The Garden Street Inn is a nice option in a convenient location. The push to make the inn quaint has arguably come at the expense of some common conveniences, such as in-room coffee options; early risers are accordingly stuck with no coffee options. Also seemingly simple requests of the front desk are met with confusion. I decided to change to another hotel due to these annoyances.

The property is gorgeous and located right in downtown with so many places to go. Staff was attentive and made sure we were taken care of

We’ve stayed here a bunch of times- love the bathtub and high ceilings.

The hotel only allows check in between 4:00 and 10:00. After a 6-hour drive I got there at 3:00 and I asked them if I could go into a room that's already cleaned and ready for me but they said they won't let me in until 4:00 unless I give them an extra $25. And then they charge you an extra $19 if you book through Expedia or hotels.com or any of those other guys so it's a really bad experience because they basically took an extra 50 bucks for nothing. And the parking for the hotel is one block away which is also another pain in the butt. Very nice staff however but I wouldn't go back because of the nickel and diming

Coffee and tea was available all day long. Location is perfect for getting to everything downtown, but didn't have any noise problems. Room was comfortable, although the "TV" was a 23" monitor.
I would definitely stay here again.
