If I go to Whitehorse again, The Big Red Barn will be my choice.

It’s very clean and comfy. The location is perfect for viewing aurora. There are horses and donkey which is suitable for family with children. Krystal, the host, is so nice and she always replies our questions promptly. She also provided blocks for my kids to play. Thanks so much.

It would be great if we could select the accommodation beforehand. There are two floors in The Big Red Barn. It was quite difficult for the kids to go upstairs.

The comforts of home in a near-wilderness ambience

The place is out in the middle of nowhere by the standards of most places except the Yukon. It is about a half hour from Whitehorse centre. We picked it because we hoped to be out of the light pollution of the city in order to catch some northern lights. The location would have been good, but Whitehorse was socked in with clouds almost the entire. period. We did manage to catch three great shows in Inuvik, though. The hosts are super nice. It is really a hobby farm with horses and donkeys, and the odd deer coming by for a visit. You can hike right out the back yard or take a short trip down the next road to the Yukon River. The winter scenes were sublime. The hosts made some great suggestions for dog sled tours and snowmobile tours, which we took up.

The kitchen could be a bit more generously equipped with dishes. There were only four sets. We had to buy some extra when our daughter came over with her two girls. The toilet reeks a bit of urine - probably generations of uncultivated males, who have not learned from their mamas the basic laws of physics, which make it impossible for a standing grown man to pee without misses or rebounds. The operators of rented accommodations will be left with the aftermath.

Lugar muy agradable y tranquilo para descansar, en un ambiente campestre, alejado de la ciudad.

La habitación muy cómoda y bien acondicionada. Cuando llegamos había -45°C, pero pudimos soportarlo sin inconvenientes. Las instalaciones buenas también. Las vistas desde la habitación son extraordinarias, todo cubierto de nieve. Crystal es una anfitriona extraordinaria. Nuestro vuelo se atrasó, y ella nos esperó tarde hasta que llegamos. Preocupada en todo momento por ayudar y hacernos sentir bien.

꿈과 같았던 이틀간의 휴식

리뷰를 읽고 꼭 가보고 싶었던 숙소였는데, 이틀간 너무 편한 휴식의 장소가 되었어요. 숙소가 시내와 떨어져 있어서 운이 좋다면 오로라를 볼 수 있는 장소이기로 합니다. 침대, 주방, 거실, 바베큐 장소 모든것이 깨끗하게 정돈되어 있습니다. 너무 친절한 크리스탈 부부와도 정을 쌓을 수 있었구요.. 온천 가고 오는 교통편과 공항으로 가는 교통편을 소정의 요금만으로 제공해 주었습니다. 온천에선 The Big Red Barn 숙박객에겐 30%할인 혜택도 주었어요. 언젠가 꼭 한번 휴식하러 또 가고 싶다는 생각입니다. 윗층 객실에 묵었던 캘거리에서 온 커플에게서 숙소 근처 에서 찍은 멋있는 오로라 사진을 이메일로 받았습니다. 허락 안받고 공유해서 올리니 양해 부탁드려요..

Comfortable

hospitality of the owner, variety of cooking equipment incl. pressure cooker, ample fridge, new coffee machine supplied with excellent coffee beans, clean house, lovely horses, quiet location.

water pressure was low at shower room, stepping noise in the morning (second floor is storage).

My family enjoyed the stay and our dog Kaiser enjoyed chasing the squirrels. We will be back :)

This location is a great place for kids and also away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The property is clean and Krystal and great person to talk to and has a lot of information available for the guests to enjoy their stay and visit some of the attractions.

Easy booking and connecting with our hosts. The place was great with all amenities and comforts. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this place.

Full kitchen! FULL size stand up deep freezer, in addition to full size Fridge/freezer. Super comfortable beds and HUGE bathroom/shower. Fire pit, gas grill, too many things to list. Very engaged hosts, texted me well in advance with additional details and information. And I didn't even mention the animals, donkey, horses, and a lovable farm dog. Fantastic experience overall.

Not super close to town. About 15 minutes to the center. If that is a turnoff then this isn't for you. (If I'm being honest that would go in the things I like)

I would recommend this place to people looking for a nice, comfortable and roomy place to stay!

It was quiet and out of the way.

The microwave was a bit finicky and we found someone’s hair inside it! We cleaned it out first.

Awesome place to be!!

Location, owners and just the setup of the place!

For me personally, an outside ashtray would have been cool and instructions on how to use the coffee pot....LOL!! There wasn't one thing I didn't like about the place!!
