The house was beautiful and had everything we needed.

We love the place. Dont let the rules scare you. David just want you to take care his place like your own. Our group is 6 adults and 7 kids with all ages.
The kithcen is full of pot, pan, waffle maker, anything you name ít ... even with many ingredients that you might need to cook a meal. Our group loved the jacuzzi and the steam room, we used them every night we got home from hiking all day so ít really help to ease the night and relax. In my opinion, the setting is really great. The bottom floor can fit easily 10-16 kids sleeping easily. The top floor where the living room and kitchen can easily set up for 20 people sitting down at meals time. Over all, our group had a great time. Thank you Mr. David. We would book ít again if we visit north of Tahoe.

Large, well appointed home with great views and a quiet neighborhood. Wonderful stay and plan to return for a longer visit in the future.

Loved staying at David’s vacation home. It’s extremely clean and well stocked with everything you can possibly need. The amenities provided and rules shows how much care he puts into his home. Our group had plenty of space to gather. The upper level level has a large kitchen, dining area, living room (with work area) and half bath. The open concept really makes conversation easy with friends and family while preparing meals (or watching your little ones). There's also a half bathroom and loft area where the kids liked to gather like a clubhouse.
The next level down had 3 bedrooms, three full bathrooms, washer/dryer and another family room area with television and air hockey table. The hot tub is also located right outside the family room area. The bonus area is the next floor below where there is ANOTHER washer/dryer (in case you have a lot of laundry) and huge room that can be used for sleepovers (multiple mattress pads, pillows and blankets available) or play room. There is another full bathroom down there too.
Overall the house was perfect and I cannot stress this house is fully stocked with everything you can possibly need. It's spacious for larger gatherings and has space if you need quiet time from you're friends. It's located near Raley's O-N-E market and Safeway. Also near ski resorts

Highly recommend this well maintained property in Truckee. Everything was in good condition including the hot tub! Kitchen is stocked with everything you’ll need. There is an Air Hockey table and plenty of space for kids to play (away from the grown ups 😉). Three separate bedrooms (not 2) and room for more people to sleep comfortably. One note: download the August App in advance and be sure to set up a profile for your access key. Also be sure to include all those who’ll need it for the owners to set up. Owners are highly responsive (thank you!) and clearly take great care of their property. All around 5 stars

Lovely and very clean property BUT...
This was the welcome email with house rules (had to leave some out d/t space limitations):
1. Absolutely no smoking in the house.
2. No jumping on any of the furniture especially the sofas and beds. We have had children have jumped on these items and caused major damage.
3. Everyone must bathe before using the hot tub. We have had too many instances where the water was left dirty. There will be a dumb and scrub charge of $200.00 if the hot tub guy says that they have to change the water. (We have had numberous guests not adhere to these rules and have been charged for dump and scrub)
4. No shoes on the hardwood floors or carpet it is only allowed in the entry area. (Also you must not let people walk in with bare feet that are dirty. Some guests didn't wear shoes but went out to their car and came back in with bare feet and made a mess on the carpet. So please be very careful. It is very hard to get carpet cleaners last minute.)
6. Guests are responsible for all carpet stains. ( Please take pictures of the carpet on the first day of arrival if you see any stains)
7. If you use the barbecue you must clean it after using it or there will be an extra cleaning charge.
9. Please tell your guests to not bring their pillows. I have had too many instances where they would switch out their old pillow for my new ones. And I have replaced 20 sets of pillows already and do not wish to buy any more. And if you see a guest bringing in their pillow make them put it back in their car.
10. PLEASE TELL ALL THE WOMEN NOT TO FLUSH TAMPONS or Baby wipes IN THE TOILET.!!! WE JUST HAD TO PAY A PLUMBER $650 TO REMOVE THEM FROM THE DRAIN LINE.
This felt like a threat, not a welcome. If Mr. Chung has had such terrible experiences renting his property, maybe he shouldn't. The previous reviews mention 2 bunkbeds and trundles + a pull out couch (also in video), instead we found pads on the floor. Really disappointing. One of the bedrooms also had a crappy futon rather than a real queen. I expected more.

Overall great experience. Family had fun. Instructions for stay were a harsh and geared towards younger/ inexperienced renters. Owner specifically told us to not let our children jump on furniture, and to wash before entering the hot tub, which was a bit condescending. The app to enter the property did not work…. Otherwise, amenities were great.

We did a work/training retreat and the main floor (kitchen/living room) was fantastic for our group to be able to meet in and have meals and had plenty of gathering space. The two levels of bedrooms were great - one floor for girls (2 rooms with queens and 3rd room with master King) & one floor for guys (2 sets of bunk beds, 2 trundle beds, a pull out couch). We had 15 people, so that meant using the all the sleeper sofa and trundles available, and they also had a cool single pull out bed ottoman. There were no washcloths, so bring your own. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely book again in the future!

We booked a last-minute trip to Donner last week, and what a wonderful time we had! The house is beautiful and spacious, and it was very convenient to Tahoe Donner (we primarily are cross-country skiers, but we also did downhill one day). We enjoyed the hot tub, the steam shower, and the surprise karaoke mic. :D The kitchen has high-quality appliances and lots of supplies, and the beds all were very comfortable. *Gorgeous* views outside the living room window, and the neighborhood is walkable. The owner was very responsive and helpful. We are so glad we made the trip!! It's been a long 10 months of sheltering in place, and getting to go to a beautiful mountain town and stay in a BEAUTIFUL house was a very welcome respite for our whole family.

Pros: Beautiful home with great views. Some nice amenities and roomy for large gathering. Owner provided extra toothbrushes, sparkling cider, teas. We were there for a memorial for our son as well as Thanksgiving
Cons: 1) Upon arrival we found cigarette butts and a alcohol containers on the decks as well as the grounds(Documented)Foldable padded chairs had been left out in the rain. 2) The invitation by app to enter the house did not work on my Iphone or on my daughter’s Android and we had to wait about an hour outside before we finally could get in. 3) There was an accumulation of very stinky and overflowing garbage left in the totes inside the garage. We notified the owner immediately. When no one arrived he left us the directive to take it out to the curb the day after Thanksgiving and add a note for garbage men to “please pick it up.” At 5:45 am and in 25° weather, my 70 year old husband lugged it out where it remained all day. At dusk we lugged it back into the garage. The day before we left the handyman finally came. He said the owner told him of the problem earlier but was not willing to pay him to pick it up before Thanksgiving! 4) The Touchpad on the Samsung refrigerator was not working and there was no ice. We had to manually try to finagle the huge ice well completely out of the fridge as there was no access otherwise and physically take out ice. With 15 pair of hands trying to get ice during COVID, this was not a prudent endeavorThe owner suggested that “shouldn’t have been a problem” 4) Two of the top bunks were not usable (one frame was cracked evidently because of jumping ). The couch bed support bar had been previously bent and WE were accused of allowing our grandchildren to “bounce” on it to break it. *The person who slept on that bed was an ADULT and our grandkids are too old to even want to jump on a bed! 5) We were a party of 17 and yet there were only bathtowels enough for 12. ( And 1 very thin dish towel). There was no handsoap (pumps or otherwise) in any bathroom or shower other than the half bath. We had to buy extra towels/soap 6)The barbecue was filthy and there was no propane. Thanksgiving am we bought propane but the barbecue would never light 7) bathroom rugs and pillow cases had not been washed (lipstick) 8) portable vacuum clogged with broken glass. 9)dangerous 4” step down from garage to house.10)no working closet light back bedroom but only controlled by adjacent bedroom switch

This 3-story cabin has a 3-car garage, kitchen, dining/living room, computer desk with 2 guest laptops, game armoire, and half bathroom on the top floor; 3 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms, a family room with wood-burning stove and air hockey table, washer and dryer, plus a deck with hot tub and gas barbecue on the middle floor; and a bonus room with sleeper sofa, sleeper ottoman, two sets of bunk beds with trundles, bathroom, card table and chairs, wet bar with refrigerator, laundry room, and outdoor deck on the bottom floor. It's amazing!
We got off to a bumpy start because the cleaners were not finished until an hour after check-in time, there was trash overflowing from the last renters, and the hot tub (which we used every day once it was available) needed to be dumped and cleaned, but the owner impressively attended to everything remotely during his workday and it was all taken care of by the next day.
**Two things that are useful to note when you are considering this cabin is that there are really 3 bedrooms and a huge bonus room, and we were asked not to use the SUPs, raft, and life jackets in the garage, which was not mentioned in the listing or instructions.
We had a great experience and memorable getaway here, and hope you will too!

Clean and Well-kept
David is a responsive owner who takes pride in his property by keeping it clean and well-maintained. Since we were traveling with young children, we stopped at Safeway on the way , and we were able to utilize the kitchen to prepare 3 meals a day!

Very lovely home for a group
We happened to pick the worst weekend to go with snow storms blocking us, but after 2 days and 14 hours of driving (from the bay area), we eventually got there, and it felt like home! The first thing we did after eating in their fully equipped kitchen, was go to relax in their hot tub, surrounded by GORGEOUS scenery. My kids tried out the steam room (in the master bath) for a few minutes, and I had been meaning to, but, simply ran out of time. Owner is very responsive, accommodating, and professional. This is a nice size property for a group of 2 or 3 families very conveniently located for folks who prefer this side of the mountain.

Beautiful and comfy cabin
The cabin was great for accommodating and entertaining a large group. Our family spent Christmas at David’s cabin and had a wonderful time. The place was spacious, very well maintained and equipped for large group accommodation. Everything in the house was well thought out for entertaining a large group with different age groups. The kitchen was very spacious, all necessary utensils are readily available. Even had an extra folding table and chairs for added seating.
There was a hot tub, steam room, air hockey, game boards, laptops, Smart TVs...and the karaoke machine was a big hit!
The house was also very conveniently located. Was easy to find and access in and out of the house was great, specially since our group has a diverse age group (2 - 75 years old).
David was a wonderful host and very responsive. We would definitely keep in mind for future stays and highly recommended.

Highly recommend staying here for big groups! Beautiful, well-kept home
I’ve rented over 20 houses and rooms in vrbo, Airbnb and the like. David has been the most responsive home owner of all. He was accommodating to all the requests I asked for.
Aside from this, the house comfortably fit all 19 adults. It was clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was fairly equipped, but do not expect to have the basic ingredients like salt and pepper (not a big deal). It was also a good distance to King’s Beach and Donner lake (both a must-see).
Overall, an amazing house. Will definitely come back!

The House was beautiful. The furniture was beautiful. The kitchen was stocked with quality supplies.
We had a large family reunion for my mother’s 90th birthday. We had babies, children, teenagers, 30’s, 40’s, 60’s, 70’s. All the different levels to the house, were nice. The bathrooms were very nice and there were plenty of them.
The owner was very responsive to my emails during our stay. Two washers and dryers in the house were nice. Great house!!

Beautifully renovated w/ all necessities & more!
This place is gorgeous! We stayed here with extended family and the kids loved bunking together on the bottom floor, playing air hockey and jumping on the trampoline. The kitchen and main living floor is spacious and great for a large family meal and gathering place to play games. The owners are also amazing hosts who have thought of every detail of things needed in terms of kitchen necessities and linens.
