The owner Josh is a super-kind American dude who is always ready to help or advise. Great time and adventures partly with local guides we had at Dos Brazos.

Paradise
We had an amazing time at this beautiful place and its host Josh and his son. It is an unique spot and like hotel California from the Eagles’ song: once you have checked in you can never leave..... thanks Josh

Not really a rural place for relaxed stay
It has a nice room and a wild garden that looks similar to the surrounding nature. Close to the natural reserve.
It's not an actual rural retreat place, just a plain local village that is located far away from the main road. It is located close to a noisy road, and from the morning hours it is possible to hear vehicles and motorbikes crossing by (as if they are driving inside the room). The place is advertised as a rural place without any connection, but the neighnbours have wifi and the owner decided to set surveillance camera on the place's wifi instead of allowing the visitors to access it. The neighbours sometimes loud as well (put some music), so not a peacefull place to stay. The place is very remote, and located 20-25 minutes from the main road. There isn't an actual reason to stay there, as it's difficult to reach for a lonely hiker and even with a car it is better to stay in a place close to the local town or to continue closer to the natural reserve. No place to buy food or eat around there, so it requires long driving to the main town or road.

Comfortable good value accommodation close to nature
Dos Brazos is a lovely friendly community close to the rain forest. There are fantastic guided tours available from the tourist office (which also has free wifi) We took a walking tour into the Corcovado National Park. The guide Jose was extremely knowledgeable and patient, a great experience but there are lots of places you can go by ,yourself. The accommodation is basic (which you would expect from the price) but very comfortable and clean and the garden is full of wildlife. There is a regular bus service to Dos Brazos 2-3 times a day. You can get some fruit and veg at the tourist office, and there is a small shop a few hundred metres further up the road past the footbridge.
Nothing it was great 👍

The frog, bird, & butterfly sanctuary adjoining this place is really special and so great for easy exploring with kids. We even spotted a small caiman there. The place was really clean and had everything we needed. The rooftop style outdoor deck was a lovely spot to hang out and spot birds. The host was really nice, accommodating and quick to respond despite the town not having internet.
Nothing, but we were a little confused by the listing. You can stay in just the two rooms with the two single beds in each and have a fully enclosed private apartment with kitchen, bathroom, and easy access to the adjoining frog sanctuary upraised deck areas (perfect for our family of 4). There were great strong fans in each room, but if you need A/C book the space with the large Queen bed.

The best place in the town. No doubt. It is pretty remote from the beaches and the city of Puerto Jimenez so make sure to bring a vehicle. However you will stay very close to the forest and you will have much time to relax and enjoy the nature, as there are no wifi or mobile data.

Jungle vibe
Josh has welcomed us very nicely. He has been a great host and was really great to talk to. The garden is just amazing. We saw so many birds, even some Tucans just from sitting in the garden. It is a very relaxing place. You need to get used to the sounds of nature but after a few hours it brings you a peace. The house is really clean and the kitchen well equipped. We would really enjoy staying there a bit longer.
