Super relaxing experience of authentic Tico life with lovely Spanish speaking family

A wonderful dive into rural Tico life. Very kind family who live a simple life away from it all. Daughter Delilah took us out in the forest twice to see ancient trees and spot wildlife. She speaks a few words of English, we were extra lucky her friend was there and able to translate. Walking in the jungle with the two of them was a magical experience. Llorena’s food is super delicious - very plentiful. Everything is clean and very well maintained. Great value for money and an experience unlike any other we had in Costa Rica.

The road requires 4x4 and is challenging in parts. if you wanted to cook your own food there didn’t seem to be equipment available. Llorena’s cooking is great but at $10 per person per meal it adds up. The main activities there are walking with the daughter, watching the many birds around the lake (binoculars recommended) and swinging in the hammocks.

Magic wild feelings

If you are looking for a true jump into the wild nature, this is the right place. The owner owns a local sustainable vegetable garden from which all ingredients of our dinners have been magically cooked and served. To reach the place you will cross part of the primary woods with ancient trees and rare animals. It is worth it.

Best hostel experience you will find in Costa Rica

The place is incredibly amazing. Lots of flora and fauna around the area, comfortable rooms and perhaps most importantly, super friendly family hosting. The food they offer is grown in the area and it is strongly recommended. Super worth getting out of the main road and pay a visit to albergue La Laguna.

Paradise!

I stayed 3 nights in this fantastic location. The place is simply beautiful and a great place to relax. I was really well looked after by Lorena, Gustavo and Dalila who are all very charming and kind. The food was delicious and lots of it. I hope to go back one day. It is remote and the road is challenging but that is all part of the adventure. It was the cheapest and best place I stayed during my stay in Costa Rica.

Exceptional

The house and the family there are amazing! You feel like at home. They prepare very tasty meals from their own products. We also were on night hiking together. We had to try our spanish language skills which was a nice experiance however the doughter knows some english. It is far away from civilization and that is what you shoud expect. I recommend that place. 4x4 not needed in my opinion, however there is gravel route, steep from time to time.

ANSOLUTELY A MUST PLACE!!!!!

WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH TO DESCRIBE THE PLACE AND THE BEAUTIFUL FAMILY WHO OWNS IT! we wish we spent a week there! They are all so personable and amazing people that western civilization could only admire! simple, nice, sincere and accommodating! little to no English but no problem with communication! How - well it simply works! they understand very little English, we understand and speak very a little Spanish but with all that we got along and by quite well. food is organic from their own garden, super delicious and abundant. coffee tasty. Gustavo and Lorena and daughter Dalila live simple but are amazing people. Dalila is a real treasure so sweet and pure and in love with the nature. She knows the jungle by heart as it is home to her and would willingly take you on a walk to share her passion with guest! We only regret not staying longer! driving there is a a bit of a challenge but doable even without 4x4. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND STAY AGAIN. THANKS

You really won't want to leave

The location is as remote as it gets on Osa peninsula - you really need a 4x4 to get there. But once there, it is as close to Paradise as it gets. The family that run it are some of the nicest and mot genuine people you will ever meet, and it's awe-inspiring just being there. Scarlet Macaws and toucans as you wake up, fantastic food, nice walks and absolutely packed with nature everywhere
