We booked a last minute Labor Day vacation and were thrilled to stay in this beautiful beach cottage only 1 1/2 blocks from the beach and boardwalk. We loved how comfortable the home and how equipped kitchen was. Like many rentals you have to bring your linens which is not convenient. There isn’t much of a yard but enjoyed the outside shower and screened in front porch. It is an old home and is noisy but who cares when you can be so close to the beach.

Love the neighborhood. Right by the beach and near the boardwalk.
Very clean.
Would stay there again!

Spent a wonderful July week in Rehoboth with family, relaxing after college graduation and prepping for the transition to “real life.” The Messner house is absolutely charming and the host friendly and helpful. Stockley Street is convenient and quiet. We hope to go back!

I can't imagine a better beach house than this one! It has all the options - quick walk to the fantastic beach and boardwalk, or you can stay in and read in comfort. All the little touches are there in the house and it has such a good vibe. Wonderful place and experience.

This was a lovely historic home set in a grove of long needle pines with nice renovations preserving the ambiance of the home. In addition, the location couldn't have been better--just a block from the beach and a short walk to downtown activities. Just a couple of quirks: you bring your own sheets and towels and no soap in the bathrooms; however, the hosts left wine so you don't have to worry! Wonderful Stay!

Location of this cute house was amazing! Great screened in porch, large living room, outdoor shower for rinsing sand and also washer/dryer a plus. Property owner/ manager was accommodating and quick to reply to messages! Bedrooms and kitchens were rather small in this house (looked roomier in pictures online) , but it's cute charm/ character outweighed the smaller sized rooms. Overall, very nice stay!

Great return to Rehoboth
We booked this property to relive some childhood memories of coming to Rehoboth, and were thrilled that it exceeded our expectations. The house is kept immaculately, is comfortable, absorbed our 3 kids very well, and gave us the quintessential, nostalgic Rehoboth experience we were chasing. The property is a close block-plus walk to the beach, and nearly as close to Rehoboth Ave. The screened-in porch was a favorite spot in the early mornings and late afternoons/evenings. The history to the house gave it a real charm. The beds were comfortable, the space felt roomy, and our occasional run-ins with owner Barry (we sought him out) were lovely. We will be back.

What a gem! Vintage Beach House charm with beautiful new bathroom facilities. A block from the Boardwalk and Beach, but away from the traffic. Great screened in patio for relaxed evening sitting. The host was very pleasant, responsive and helpful. We had a great stay. Would rent again!

Lovely house and terrific location
Pics on the listing don't do the house justice- bedrooms are spacious and front porch has comfy furniture and a beautiful view of the neighborhood. The downstairs bath has been renovated and there is a wonderful outdoor shower. Barry is easy to communicate with, available, helpful. Our group (3 adults in their 40s, 1 adult in her 70s, 2 kids ages 9 and 12) enjoyed every minute of our stay. It's a quick walk to the beach and into town. What I loved most is the house has been renovated lovingly without losing any of its original personality. Such a contrast to the enormous, generic homes going up all over the area. One reco- bring your own plastic storage containers if you like to pack lunch for the beach as we do. Otherwise a delightful place and we can't wait to return. Thank you, Barry!

Charming, clean, and excellent location!
This property was everything we could have hoped for! The location is just a short walk to the beach in a lovely part of town. The house was very clean. Nicely stocked kitchen which provided everything we needed for making dinner each night! Bedrooms were comfortable and roomy. Common areas were perfect for dinning and hanging out as a group (there were 6 of us). The screened in porch was relaxing for morning coffee and evening drinks. The best part of our experience was the owner Barry; he is so nice and went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our stay! We will definitely be repeat renters!

It was AWESOME!
Our group consisted of 3 adults and 3 children (14 and under). The bedroom arrangement worked out perfectly. I was initially concerned about only having one full bath in the house (there is a half bath on the second floor), but the single shower was not a problem for our group. The kids preferred using the outdoor shower. The four bedrooms were well appointed and nicely decorated. We all loved the books everywhere! The kitchen was wonderful, and we cooked more than I thought we would. It was an easy walk to the beach and boardwalk, and we loved that the owner arranged for us to have an umbrella and two chairs for the beach. Many nights were spent relaxing on the screened in porch, and the available washer and dryer were used every other day of our stay.
Our family and friends can’t wait to go back next year!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us - close to the beach and also shady. We enjoyed the authentic Delaware ambiance of the house and the kitchen was well equipped. Labor Day Week Stay
The location of the property is excellent, just 1 1/2 blocks to the beach and a few short blocks to the shopping/restaurant area. We appreciated the complementary bottle of wine and the use of 2 beach chairs and an umbrella from the on beach rental. All week we used the word quirky to describe the house. The kitchen is updated and well appointed and the dining/living area is large and comfortable. We used the front porch often. We had an issue with the bathrooms while there that required a plumber and the property owner was right on top of it and it was resolved quickly. The master bath needs an updating especially since it is the only full bath and the owner told us that the update is planned for this off season. We had a great week and enjoyed our stay.

Multigenerational Family Stay
We spent a week at this home with our your kids and both sets of our parents. The house was very clean, cozy and well furnished. Location, proximity to beach is great. Nice that it is an area that is close to the beach, but more quiet, away from the busy main touristy area. We stay in a lot of rentals. The owners of this house do a really nice job of furnishing the house with things that are very useful to renters and show they have actually thought about how guests actually use the space. I have not stayed at a place where the owner was so close by the whole time. Barry is great, was easy to contact if we needed anything but we always had our privacy. Overall one of the best VRBO rentals we have stayed at!

Wonderful Family Stay in Rehoboth
We had a great family vacation at this property! The location made it easy for us to go to and from the beach and Rehoboth Ave. several times a day with our baby. There was some confusion around parking. but the owner was available to help us sort it out. We loved this house, and were impressed by the well-equipped kitchen and cozy porch and bedrooms.

LOVED our stay!
This adorable cottage was perfect for our family of 10 who stayed. The outdoor shower was heavenly! The house was very clean and Barry was such a pleasure to speak with. Our daughters diamond earring fell out while visiting - we assumed it was just gone. A week later Barry sent a text asking if it was ours and mailed it to us. Thank you again for that! I feel like this home is larger than the photos portray online. Very spacious, clean, and cozy! We will be back :)

Great location! Super owner!
We had a great week at this property! Only 1 1/2 blocks to the beach and 4 blocks to Funland. We had everything we needed and slept 8 comfortably. It was a little hot upstairs, but the fans helped to circulate the air. There was condiments and paper products in the kitchen including plastic baggies which are great to have! We enjoyed the screened in porch privacy and large open living space and dining room for playing games and eating all at once.
Outside there was an additional shower and laundry facilities which were helpful to dry our towels at the end of a wet beach day. Thanks to the owner for having two parking passes, two bottles of wine and a paid week of beach chair and umbrella rental. They were awesome to have.
Nearby we did the boardwalk, Rehoboth walking food tour and an escape room was a short drive away. The best sandwiches were at Belly Fillers at our end of the boardwalk and Mariachi’s was delicious for Mexican.
