Glacier View Chalet Amongst the Trees
About this house rental
Located in Truckee, this lovely house for £269 per night is a great choice for your next break. Let your imagination begin. Put your feet up and relax next to the fire. Or sit back on the large deck and take in the sounds of the Sierras. This cozy home invites your family and friends to enjoy the alpine air and experience some time nestled amongst the firs. Place was as advertised. Very clean, well stocked, and in a great location.

Communication with the owner was great. Clearly a tough winter with construction going on and might be a little bit early to stay here.

Great place, comfortable stay with a little kid, loved the bunk bed, board games, and access to trout creek rec center. Can't beat proximity to Tahoe Donner skiing as well.

We stayed in summer for one week - two adults and four kids (tweens & teens). The house is plenty big. The four kids shared the bunk bed room. The kitchen has lots of supplies that were very helpful, including a full selection of Ziploc bags (these definitely came in handy)! The kitchen cutting knives could use sharpening, but that's a minor complaint.
One suggestion for the master bedroom: there are no nightstands. It's really handy to have a place next to the bed to put a water bottle, a clock or watch, a book, etc., besides on the floor. The space available on the sides of the bed is limited, but small end tables could fit there.
Overall, this place is great. It's in a nice, quiet location close to lots of Tahoe Donner & Truckee amenities. The house is spacious and comfy, and the owner responded to all our requests promptly.

Easiest Ever
Great location, with a floor plan that could not be better! We took our three college kids there for a home town 4th of July parade, fireworks, some hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and boating. This place was close enough to everything! During our down time we cooked in the kitchen, bbq on the grill, caught up with wi-fi, and watched some cool new shows on Netflix and Prime. Andy even alerted us to a far away fire and gave us some tips. We were all very comfortable. I would suggest replacing the rocker with a recliner, but not a big deal. We had a very peaceful and relaxing week getting to know Truckee.

Perfect Ski Week Getaway!
We had a fabulous time at this beautiful A-frame home. It is in a great location - right in the middle of Tahoe Donner with easy access to Truckee, Sugar Bowl, Palisades Tahoe, and Alpine Meadows ski resorts. I loved the tall windows which allowed in a lot of natural sunlight and you could stare up into the beautiful trees surrounding the home. Communication with very seamless with Andy - he usually responded within a few minutes. Check in/check out was also really easy with a lockbox at the house. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I would absolutely recommend this home for your next Tahoe getaway!

Wonderful cosy house, short 5 minute drive to Tahoe Donner Ski area (which is amazing for young family or if learning to ski). House had everything we needed, was warm and cosy, and we even built a sled run out the back. Highly recommend.

We loved our time here. Looking forward to coming back. Close enough to the lake to go when it gets too hot and close enough to the tennis courts to get some morning hitting in as well . Bbq and eating out on the deck was so nice and peaceful.

We all enjoyed our time at Glacier View Chalet; the proximity to Donner & all that Truckee has to offer made it a perfect location for us. The kids had lots of fun both in the back yard & inside watching movies & playing hours of games. The kitchen was easy to use with all the amenities of home allowing us to have most of our meals in the comfortable dining area. Hope to visit this rental again!

Perfect Ski Weekend
Our family had the perfect weekend staying at Glacier View Chalet. I loved that our older kids could go skiing at Tahoe Donner, and our little one could go tubing - all within a 10-minute drive of the house. Being so close to both places made it easy to come back to the house for breaks/lunch. The house itself is cozy, super well-stocked, very clean and comfy. The kids were even able to sled and have snowball fights right behind the house, so there was plenty of easily accessible outdoor fun to be had. We are definitely bookmarking this home for future trips!

Great House, Great Owners!
We have stayed in this area many times at different homes. We were very happy with this home and will stay here again.
-The house heater worked very well (we have been in other homes that are freezing in certain areas of the house)
-the mattresses were super comfy (not always the case at other homes)
- The driveway was plowed daily (super important as we have been stuck in homes before)
- The owners were very responsive
Definitely recommend!!

Cozy and fun
We had a great time staying at this house over Super Bowl weekend. We love the Tahoe Donner neighborhood so this location was great. It had snowed several feet the week before so our kids had a great time sledding in the large yard. The house was cozy and warm and had everything we needed for a fun weekend away from home

This cabin was so comfortable and cozy for our family of 6 for our annual ski trip. Just 25 minutes from Donner Ski Ranch, less than 10 to downtown Truckee for takeout, perfect side yard for a little sledding with the young kids - it was just what we needed. This cabin is priced right and would definitely recommend it.

Hidden Gem
We were first thinking this trip wouldn't happen due to COVID but it did and we have zero regrets! After experiencing cabin fever we just needed to get away. Andy's home was just what we needed. Not being able to get out and explore much was fine with us. There was plenty to keep us busy inside. Lots of games, the cozy fire, the large windows displaying the beautiful snowy winter scene... I could go on and on but you should experience it for yourself. The Truckee Donner community is definitely a hidden gem in the Sierras!

Andy was very easy to communicate with and we had no trouble with the property. Home was clean and had the essentials we needed (a new sponge and additional dish towels/extra rolls of paper towels were the only pieces missing). WiFi worked well for up in the mountains. Comfortable stay for 4 adults for a long weekend. Would visit again!

Great time in Truckee
Just spent a wonderful week in Truckee with my family. The house had everything you need. Quiet time amongst the trees on the deck. Close to Donner Lake and downtown Truckee- Tahoe a stones throw. Great place and great location.

Great Tahoe family vacation!
My family of 5 had a wonderful time on our trip to Tahoe! The house was well equipped and my husband and I loved sitting out on the deck in both the morning and afternoon. Our 3 boys (ages 12,10 and 5) had a great time running around the large backyard, and the loft and family room provided plenty of space for family movie and game nights. The neighborhood is great and offers plenty of nearby activities.

Perfect Cabin with a great deck!
We had such a nice stay! The pictures didn’t do it justice. It was the perfect size! Our favorite part was the deck! Coffee on the deck, lunch on the deck, cocktails on the deck, games on the deck.... it was such a tranquil place with perfect filtered sun. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfy and there were tons of games for all ages! I highly recommend it!

My family thoroughly enjoyed getting away for the long weekend. Much needed. Andy was a perfect host and the house definitely has its charm. We would love to come back.

Lovely Neighborhood
The house was the perfect size for parents (bedroom upstairs) and 2 kids, each bringing a friend. The house was clean, adequately furnished and easy to navigate. It was a little stuffy as there is no A/C and it ran in the low mid 80s when we were there. We brought a fan and went out and bought another one during our 4 night stay. The house is among a forest with the shade, smells, and sounds of nature. It was great scenery and calming to sit on the deck and read. We enjoyed the house very much and are thinking about returning for ski season in the winter since its so close to Tahoe Donner and Northstar. 15 mins to downtown Truckee, 30 to Kings Beach.

Great cozy place in Tahoe Donner
Our family loved staying at the Glacier View Chalet. Our host, Andrew was so helpful with tips and information ahead of our stay. We had kids ranging from 4 to 14 and the place had everything we needed and in a great location. Skiing at nearby Tahoe Donner was easy and relatively inexpensive. The house was clean, organized and we all had a great time being together there. We'll definitely look into staying there again. Thanks Andrew

Fun time at the glacier chalet!
Overall a great home for fun in the snow. Close to everything for family fun and for relaxing in the snow chalet!
Lots of games for family fun. The WiFi is weak so don’t count on trying to do any online work while there.
The owner is very responsive and helpful with any issues that may arise.

Great home and location
The house was family friendly, located just down the street from Tahoe Donner, the rec center and close to town and shops. They have lots of games and puzzles which were great on our rain day. Owners were responsive and easy to work with. There is no garage but driveway was flat (we have rented and got stuck on hill driveway). All amenities were in good condition. Would come back.

Cozy, warm and perfect!
This cabin was lovely and the online description was accurate. We arrived very late and the heat was on and the place was cozy. Very comfortable for 4 of us. The sleds were super fun too! Would absolutely stay there again and highly recommend to others!

Comfortable cabin with plenty of amenities
The Glacier View Chalet was exactly as described. We happened to be there in between snow storms and the cabin had enough amenities for the three kids (2, 4, and 6) to be entertained the whole time without us having to drive anywhere else. Between the board games, puzzles, and sleds, there was plenty to do both inside and outside. The bunk beds were a big hit! The kitchen came with all the basics and there were plenty of spices and condiments for cooking any meal. The wood burning fire place provided a warm, cozy atmosphere. I would definitely stay at this chalet again!
