The Beach Bum Inn is a 6 bedroom, 4 bath private pool vacation home that is an excellent option for large family groups visiting Tybee. The home is located in the shadow of the Tybee Island Lighthouse on the North end of the island just a 4-5 block walk past the Tybee Lighthouse to the oceanfront beach at the North Beach lot. Guests can also choose to use the North Beach access point located 2.5 blocks (500 yards) away. A brand new pool has been installed in early 2018 and it is 23 feet by 11 feet, with a depth of 4.5 feet. This ground level home offers lots of space for your family to enjoy including two fully equipped kitchens, two living rooms, a game room with pool table, large covered patio, along with a large screened porch table for four and ping pong and foosball tables, and four full baths. There is even split-table seating for up to 16 with additional counter seating for 6. Catch all your favorite games and movies on a large 65-inch Smart TV in one living room, and a 42in flat-screen TV in the second living room. Each living area has a sleeper sofa for additional occupants. Located in between the two living rooms is a game room with a full-size pool table. Bedroom Set-Up: Bedroom #1: King w/ Private Full Bath, Location: Off of Living Room #2. (Twin Bunk beds are available as an additional sleeping option in this room) Bedroom #2: King w/ door to Full Bath also attached to Lvrm #2, Location: Off of Living Room #2 (Pass-thru to Access Twin Room) Bedroom #3: 2 Twins, Location: Off of Bedroom #2 Bedroom #4: Queen w/ Private Full Bath, Location: Off of Game Room Bedroom #5: Queen, Location: Off of Game Room Bedroom #6: Queen w/ door to Full Bath also attached to Lvrm #1, Location: Off of Game Room Enjoy rocking chairs and hanging swing beds on the front covered porch. The large screened porch on the back of the home offers an outdoor dining table for 4 and a ping pong table, and a 40" flat-screen TV. All of this is situated in the shadow of the Tybee Lighthouse! Guests can relax and enjoy entertaining in the outdoor space and revel in the beauty of Tybee's magnificent, historic Lighthouse! There is a gas grill for cooking out with your group. The pool and patio include an outdoor hot/cold enclosed shower, perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach. Finish off a great vacation day with stories around the fire pit in the backyard. Parking for 5 vehicles. This home is pet-friendly with an additional fee. This home has High-Speed Internet/WIFI available for guest use. Guests can choose to add optional pool heat for an additional cost of $35 per day (not available in January or February). Need more space for your upcoming vacation? Beautiful layout and use of space. Both indoor and outdoor space was enjoyable. I woke each morning with a view of the sun rising behind the lighthouse from the screened in porch. We had a ball.

Myself along with my spouse and several friends came across this house, we needed a big one, total of 10 of us. It worked out great. The location is awesome. Every amenity you will need, and plenty of room,even with 10 of us we was not on top of one another. Will be back for sure.Thanks

We really enjoyed our stay here! From the kids to adults there was always something to keep us busy. The property is perfectly set up with all of its space properly utilized and so many small butr cute details. The pool was awesome! The kids spend hours in the pool and didnt want to get out. The house is blocks away from the beach and not far from restaurants/supermarkets. We had an awesome experience and look forward to renting again in the future.

Renting this property was simple. It is BETTER than advertised. The decor is perfect for the place too. Our group (family) of 11 had plenty of space and the amenities are great. Everyone was comfortable. I’d stay here again for sure !

From Covid cancelling our plans last year to our 1st house in Savannah being sold which gave us two months before our trip to find this wonderful place. Perfect place for our Family (Girls Trip) of 12. This home was a vacation in itself! We had all different ages which having everything on 1 floor was great! Lots of space but our favorite place to hang out was the 2 large Swings! Wonderful area quiet and was so nice to be so close to the North Beach entrance and Tybee Lighthouse!! Staff was wonderful and check in and out was a breeze!! Fully stocked two kitchens that had everything you needed. Beautiful pool was a great addition! Rooms were spacious and was wonderful to have 4 bathrooms. If you are looking for a great place book this you will be extremely happy and it could be your blessing In Disguise!

We were in town celebrating a bachelorette party. With Covid we wanted to be on the beach and enjoy the quietness but also be in good distance to downtown Savannah to enjoy that atmosphere. We did both and was amazing. The house was huge and plenty of space indoors and outdoors.

We probably would not stay in Tybee again not very many things there to do the restaurants were just Average. The whole island needs to be upgraded. So many areas where grass wasn’t even mowed. The house we stayed in was definitely overpriced for the condition it’s in. Wasn’t very clean. . It met our needs but just needed some Maintenance done. We’ve stayed in other places much cheaper and with better amenities and things to do

House is old and worn. Family had a good time in spite of condition
First impressions is that this house is old and worn out for the money we paid. Bathrooms are old. Had to interrupt one family all day and night to do laundry. 2 Kitchens we were constantly going back and forth to get the correct utensils to cook. Rafters on the outside of house were hanging down. This is a haven for bees. Took 2 hours to sort out one t.v. Because the hdmi cable was in the bedroom. Housekeeping should make sure that everything works before turning it over for check in. Door knob on one bathroom came off. Smoke detector was laying on the kitchen cabinet. There were 3 that were missing. At least all of the bedrooms were covered. We chose this house because of the ping pong table and pool table in case of rain. The pool table needs to have all legs tightened up as the pockets fell on the floor everytime you made a shot. Grass needed to be mowed all around the property and neighbors as well. Killed several roaches crawling on the walls. The pictures of this place certainly do not reflect the current condition.

For families that enjoy each other’s company
My youngest grandson has severe food allergies. Having two kitchens took the constant worry of cross contamination out of our vacation equation . The soccer fans watched soccer while the baseball fans watched baseball while the real fans watched the Batchlorette all at the same time. Pool table or Pool swimming? Hard to choose. Each bedroom is separated with its own bathroom and the 18 of us were never in each other’s way. Ages 12-70, we had a blast.

The good:
Weather was great. We got to go to the beach every day.
The house was big enough to accommodate our family.
The house is beautifully decorated.
Access to the beach is fairly close.
The bad:
Pictures of the outside of the house are not what they seem on the website. The porch faces a broken fence and the house is located down an alley way and hard to find via GPS.
The outside screened in porch is large, however the screens are torn in several places so don't plan on eating there. The screen door to the outside porch sticks and the handle to open it fell off several times throughout the week.
We saw several large bugs in the house throughout the week.
The handles on the bathroom door in the back of the house fell off.
The closet door in the bunk room fell off.
The washer and dryer work but are from 1980 and the dryer will continue to run Day and night unless you shut it off.
Both refrigerators have rust on the outside and the one in the front kitchen freezes your food if placed in the

The house and property were great! Very nice and well kept. Only real complaint I have is the day of check in I got a very rude lady that had no customer service skills and actually hung up on me. Now see, to get repeat customers or even a referral, you can treat people rudely, not to mention the valid complaint I had was the lady further gave us the wrong code (twice) to access our property. otherwise overall nice.

Over and above
We came to Tybee Island for our sons wedding in Savannah. The Beach Bum Inn was perfect!! We had 17 groomsmen and friends for breakfast on Saturday and to have 2 kitchens was awesome!! Also, being a ranch style home was excellent!! The only negative I had was there were no potholders in either kitchen!! Also, I highly recommend Huc-a-Poo's pizza it's a dive but the BEST thin pizza you will ever have and CHEAP!!

Nice property with plenty of space ( three and a half stars)
As our family grows we are always looking for large homes for our annual 4th of July Tybee trip. The house was very spacious and the pool table was a lot of fun when beach time was over. The living room furnishings were all very nice and the home was satisfactorily clean. I would recommend this house for large groups. I would also recommend to the owners/rental company that some attention to detail is in order. Also, be aware that the twin room is only accessible through another bedroom, which with small kids would be convenient. The screen door is on its last leg and the porch floor needs to be painted. We did not spend a lot of time on the porch as it did not feel clean. The exhaust fans in the bathrooms ( especially the master and the double double) need to be replaced/repaired immediately. Being in there any amount of time would make you crazy with the noise. If we came back I would also bring my own sheets. It has always been my experience that every day items (ie salt and pepper, coffee filters, a few dishwasher soaps) were always available. We have used VRBO many many times and this is the first house that did not stock a few staples. Overall we were satisfied with our stay but for the price, I expected a bit more...
