Welcome to the beautiful and serene Tahoe Donner recreation area. Our expansive multi level home is a dream for entertaining and is close to everything in the Truckee & Lake Tahoe region. Imagine being just a short drive up the hill from the entertainment and dining mecca of Downtown Truckee, while remaining peacefully isolated in the beautiful wilderness that Tahoe Donner has to offer. Step inside Edelweiss Tahoe to find hardwood floors, multiple living areas and sleeping spaces spread throughout the home for maximum privacy and capacity for the entire family or group to spend time together. The private backyard space opens to the forest behind the home and features a manicured lawn, entertaining patio, 6 person hot tub spa, cocktail bar and barbecue. The large main living room has ample comfortable seating, contains an HDTV gathering area, and is directly adjacent to the main dining table, bar area and kitchen which allows everyone to spend time together and relax. The sound system pumps out rich musical backdrops while the wonderful natural light pours in from the large windows throughout. Additionally, there are 2 more living spaces (one of which also has a large HDTV and Foosball table) to allow kids and different groups to spread out and relax in privacy. The main floor master is well isolated from the other spaces as is the 2nd floor VIP King suite above the connected garage. Both feature private spa inspired full bathroom facilities so everyone can prepare for a wonderful evening on the town, afternoon on the lake, day on the slopes or morning on the course. Also included with rental of Edelweiss Tahoe is full access to the comprehensive recreational benefits offered by the Tahoe Donner Homeowners Association facilities. Private lakefront access and amenities on nearby Donner Lake include a beach area, boat launch, restaurant, pool, boat rentals and more. Also included is access to the 11 court Tennis complex, golf course and fitness facilities (fees do apply for certain activities). Whether you’re here to take in all the outdoor activities or just relax in the hot tub at the house, there are literally dozens of ways to delight in the wilderness relaxation afforded at our Edelweiss Tahoe home and the spectacular surroundings. Nothing else in Tahoe Donner is quite like it and you will love it!

We had such a great stay! Owner was really communicative and helpful. House was clean, large, incredibly well stocked. Beds were comfortable, linens fluffy, hot tub on point. Driveway was easily accessible in ice/snow with AWD, and location in Tahoe Donner was great. Once of the best VRBO stays we’ve ever had!

We’ve been a several properties in the Tahoe Donner neighborhood. This is probably the best so far. The home is clean and super “homey”. Richard was gracious and very communicative throughout. There are family photos throughout upstairs and it’s a reminder that it’s a special place to the owners. Accordingly, we did our best to respect the place. There are plenty of cooking utensils and a ton of space, 3 living rooms and 4 bedrooms. Our little ones ran around with plenty of legroom. They built a snow fort and snowman in the backyard and it was a blast all around. We will be back for sure!

This is a perfect Tahoe Donner house to rent with a family or friends. Very spacious and beautiful, comfortable beds, cozy lounge areas, and a well stocked kitchen. Owner is very responsive and checkin in easy!

Each summer we rent a house in Tahoe with two other families for two weeks. We have kids who do a day camp in Tahoe together. This is the best house we have rented to date. It was very well situated for three families as there were lots of separate areas to maximize privacy and facilitate different activities happening simultaneously. I have never rented a better-appointed house, especially in these COVID times where you can hardly find salt and pepper in a rental property. The real stand-out though was the host who was so communicative, kind and very generous when we had a bit of a damage snafu and just generally throughout our stay. I hope we get to stay at this property again as I only have wonderful things to say about it.

We had a wonderful time staying in your beautiful home. Everything was so well equipped and thought out. The layout of the house was perfect, and the outside areas were great. We really enjoyed the front porch area. Definitely a great house for large groups! We felt extremely at home in your home! What a wonderful time just relaxing and recharging!!!

Our family really enjoyed staying in this house. Plenty of room and rooms for each of us and the kids loved the bunk room! The location with the walking and biking trails out the front door was awesome and the amenities were great! Richard was really quick to respond with any questions we had. Great Trip! Great House!

It speaks volumes that I should be packing up to go home right now, and instead I am procrastinating and writing VRBO reviews. The fact is, WE DONT WANT TO LEAVE!
This house is a wonderful home base for a trip to Tahoe. The location is fantastic - a short drive to Northstar and Squaw, so close to tons of hiking trails, not far from Kings Beach, and just a quick hop from adorable downtown Truckee. It’s in a quiet, cute neighborhood.
The house itself is great. Everything is super high quality- nice thick towels, lovely fluffy pillows and comforters, even the throw blanket on the couch makes you want to just snuggle up. The kitchen is well stocked, and we had everything we needed to cook several great meals. The hot tub is, in my opinion, a huge plus, as there is nothing as relaxing as coming from a day of skiing to soak in the hot tub with a glass of wine, surrounded by snow and trees and silence.
My only recommendation before renting is: Be sure you understand the layout of the house. The bedroom over the garage is quite separate from the rest of the bedrooms. This worked perfectly for our teenage daughter, who felt like she had her own little apartment, and it would work well for two families if the grownups wanted a little separation. But I’d hesitate to put little kids up there, because they’re a long way from the rest of the house...Like I said, it worked perfectly for us!
Overall, we had an amazing trip and cannot wait to come back.

Perfect location in Tahoe-Donner and great lay-out of house for privacy of different couples/families. Nice to have 3 different areas to gather, converse, watch TV and play games. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Richard is very good to work with and super responsive to our requests. The home is very clean and well-equipped. We had 8 people staying here and it works very well, with room for privacy and great gathering spaces. The kids enjoyed it as much as the adults did. The location is perfect for skiing and exploring the charming town of Truckee. We will be back!!

This house has just what you need for a relaxing vacation. Plenty of room for larger groups yet still feels cozy. Well equipped kitchen & laundry a plus. Secluded backyard with hot tub & bbq. Quiet street close to trailhead. Owner very accessible. Use of Tahoe Donner amenities offers something for everyone. Tree in the middle of the driveway was a bit tricky.

This house was fabulous! There were 3 families, and we had plenty of room. We loved the town of Truckee, and spent time on Donner lake, it was pretty warm in the house during the day, but opened the windows at night and cooled off pretty quick. Richard was wonderful to work with and we would book again. My husband and I have a MotorHome and Richard was kind enough to let us park in the driveway while we enjoyed the house with our kids and grands. Thanks again for sharing your house with us!!

We have stayed here multiple times. It is a very well appointed home with everything one would need. The only negative is that the mattresses are a bit softer than we are used to and wish that the queen bed in one of the bedrooms was a king bed. Neither of which would prevent us from staying here again. The owners have kept this house up very well and were extremely accommodating. LOVE it!

We had a wonderful stay here. Home is beautiful and large enough for three families to spread out. Loved the kids play room with foosball table and games. Close to many activities including Donner Lake, Lake Tahoe, and downtown Truckee. Trail right behind the house leading to a beautiful overlook. We will definitely be back!

Found our new favorite rental! Ideal location with added bonus of trailhead right across the street. Hot tub just what you need after a long hike. Layout great for multiple family members. Richard was a pleasure to deal with - very attentive and quick to answer any questions. We'll definitely be back next year.

When we walked in we were so thrilled with the overall spaciousness of this beautiful home. Top quality appliances and furniture, very well taken care of down to the last detail. The house was well stocked and we did not want for anything since all was supplied and the deck and hot tub were a big hit. There is no doubt we cannot wait to return to this lovely home.
