About this house rental
We are free to have our vacation all year round. One family for the whole house or 2, 3, 4, families and friends. Sleeps 14. You may want the option of sharing expenses.. Many families are able to travel while working outside of the home. What better place than at the BEACH. You have the beautiful beach to enjoy while you work. The kids are are e -learning. You also have your own private pool and jacuzzi. Gardenia has free wifi. We now offer Spectrum Ultra 400 MBPS INTERNET. This helps our families who work from home, our students e-learning as well, you who stream, zoom, and are gamers. More devices at one time at faster speeds. Fun in the Sun!! Never too late for a We share guests concerns about the need for stringent cleaning standards . We observe the professional standards we have always followed to ensure fresh, clean and safe environments in our great vacation homes. My office uses only commercial grade laundry equipment, detergents and chemicals at temperatures in excess of 160 degrees. We do not wash towels and linens in home laundry machines. After guests depart, our vacation homes are thoroughly cleaned using EPA approved chemicals such as chlorine based cleaners for bathrooms and peroxide based cleaners for kitchens and floors. After cleaning, and prior to the arrival of the next guests, each vacation is touched-up by our amazing Inspection Staff, and re-sanitized. This is a great house for family and friends. Also, a block away is the family friendly casual eatery the Padre Island Brewing Co. with great service, home brewed beer, and some of the best cerviche on the Island. You can grab a quick brew and some great food. Tom & Jerry’s and Wanna Wanna’s beach bar, both famous for their sizzling burgers, are close by. Our family takes annual trip to the island. SPI is such a special place. The house was clean and functional. Great location, a few steps and the gulf is there to greet you. The hot tub and pool is amazing and was highly used. The house has an odd set-up, walking through the front door to see two queen beds was weird. We had to figure out the best person for that room. We used the backyard gate to go upstairs and not disturb the person sleeping in the front room. The upstairs area is nice and roomy. The fireworks can be seen from the outside balcony. The family was satisfied with the house. The owner Judy was very responsive and nice. The management company was also easy to work with. All beds were comfortable and having the beach towels and wash/dryer was perfect. Overall everything was awesome. I recommend, updated furniture and paint. The downstairs sofa was not comfortable and bedroom dresser is old and tired. The exterior of the house needs paint to freshen up the look. A big thank you to Judy & the management company for an easy and beautiful stay on the island. Can’t wait to go back!!

Wonderful location right across the street from the beach. Two kitchens and living areas very helpful for multiple families. Wish there was a table though. Only a long bar upstairs which worked especially for cooking and serving. Hot Tub is fun too!!

Convenient to beach access #14 with views of gulf from balconies. Pool is great entertainment for families. Large open living / kitchen upstairs works well for large groups, but kitchen could use updated pots & pans. The updates that have been made are nice. Overall, pricey for the quality.

the upstairs area was spacious and lovely. the downstairs is a little dark and musty, significantly smaller kitchen and living area so using the pullout couch is tight and feels cramped. the pool and hot tub were great, but realize it is in on a busy street so not super private.
I would stay in the upstairs area again, but not downstairs.

The upstairs and main level are separate entrances with an exterior staircase so not convenient. We had to call three times to have the pool heat turned on as it was too cold to swim and enjoy except one day. The location is good and the beds were comfortable.

This location was perfection directly across the street from easy to walk on beach access. amazing sunrise view . The back yard was almost like being in a secluded area, away from everyone else because of the landscaping around the pool. the house had everything you need for all guests. four restrooms was perfect for everyone to get ready at the same time. The pool was nice and warm and not too deep. kitchens are well equipt. We enjoyed everything about it. we will be back

Decent for the money. The down stairs portion of the house had a smell coming from the shower drain. Couches we not very comfortable due to them being sleeper sofas. The pool/hot tub was amazing and kept clean.

The place is a little old and run-down, but they've clearly done some work on it (the upstairs showers have been recently redone, for instance) and it's clean and usable. The pool is wonderful, and the location can't be beat. Good stay overall for a large group, including everyone from a toddler to kids to teens to adults to a senior citizen and a couple of dogs.

The location was amazing. I read the reviews before we came so was prepared for the stairs to be outside, but they were recently remodeled along with the deck. The pool was recently resurfaced as well. The downstairs stayed hot, so fans for each bedroom would have been appreciated. We ran out if trash bags, toilet paper, and paper towels. We were there 7 days, so maybe for longer stays they can put more out.

The outside stairs to the upper unit are 3", first step, 7 1/4" remaining mid steps with a 10" top step to the upper landing. Unbelievably, I was bruised and sore with a good crack to the skull, but ok. Stairs are 7" continuous to code. That was day 1. Interior is worn and tires, kitchen cabinets have gaps between sections, old, tired. The pots and pans, which were very few were warped and scratched. No real utensils. Downstairs had two forks in total, so they bought silverware. The electrical was a nightmare. Turn the pool on, breakers flip off. Then the electrical just goes off, after the breakers cool down you can flip it back on but the box is hot. This was a regular thing the first two weeks.
I called Sim who was managing for the owner. He busted his butt trying to make things right. He bought us two sets of copper cookware, a vaccum, 2 mops and buckets and responded to every text or call.
The electricity was corrected on a Monday, we had no power for part of the day, but we were compensated by the owner for our lunch out. I certainly know that the owner actually paid for the other items including the candles that we purchased.
I would suggest that the owner have a few more basics in the house. Mixing bowls, a mixer, more than 1 kitchen towel and dish cloths. I am going back next year for multiple months but will not rent there again. I'm sure the owner is very nice, as is Sim the manager, but the house needs some TLC and upgrades.

Otherwise ease of checkin/checkout, location, cleanliness, and amenities make this property well worth the look.

While we really enjoyed proximity of the house to the ocean and having a heated pool was awesome, the property (especially the furniture) feels past its prime and didn't seem to align with our expectations from the ad or pricing.
The furniture is pretty worn out. The couches and beds are sunk in the middle and uncomfortable. Several people in our party have bad backs and there wasn't anywhere in the house to sit or sleep that didn't leave you with aches and pains.
Watch out for the top step as its overly large and tripped members of my party. Also, (as noted in the ad), the stairs are outside so when it rained hard it was inconvenient to go between levels to spend time with family.
As for cleanliness, the high touch areas (counters, etc) were cleaned by maid. However, deep clean (spring clean type stuff) doesn't appear to be addressed frequently enough.
The heated pool was wonderful and we enjoyed it very much. However it took the property manger 4 days (and 5 visits from pool guys) to get the heat up and running. But then the hot tub constantly emptied itself - pool guy said something was broken.
The property manager did send service people quickly.
We rented for a month and wish we would have understood better prior to booking that we were paying for proximity to the beach not necessarily comfortability of the house.
Gave this a 3 because location + pool where excellent but the rest of property didn't meet expectations.

Loved the location and property. The pool was great, check in and out was easy. Property was mostly in good shape some cosmetics could be addressed and some sticker burrs up front. The upper unit is completely separate from the lower so you need to go outside to get up or downstairs. Only complaint it stayed very muggy in the lower master bedroom, seemed like the air didn't circulated in there well. Rest of the house seemed comfortable.

The linens were clean and fresh but countertops/bathrooms were a bit dingy and dirty. The dishes all had to be re-washed before use. Also be warned that the downstairs room with two queens isn’t a typical bedroom. There is a curtain instead of a door between the room and the kitchen, and the door from the street opens right into the room, which isn’t obvious from the photographs. Another odd thing upstairs is there is no dining room table, only the kitchen counter, which is clear in the pictures so that is our fault for not realizing.

The upstairs living room has only lamps so is super dark, and there were several lights that were out or didn’t work, including on the deck. A lot of the plugs were unusable as cords would just fall out and the boards on the stairs were loose in spots. The location is great and so close to the beach, I only wish they had focused more on upkeep and safety.

Loved the location and property. The pool was great, check in and out was easy. Property was mostly in good shape some cosmetics could be addressed and some sticker burrs up front. Great location!
When we were standing in the ocean, we could actually see the side of the house! We could also see the town fireworks from the side of the balcony. The house was as advertised and we had no issues. It would be more convenient if the outside staircase was attached to the balcony instead of outside the fence.

Mini Vacay
Experience was just what we were hoping for. Excellent location just a few steps away from the beach. Plenty of space for the whole clan. Family from Utah wanted a great island vibe and left extremely happy. Upstairs living and kitchen area was amazing. We will be staying here again.

Clean, spacious, and amazing location.
I rated everything 5 star because the area is amazing. Super close to the beach. Home was very clean despite being outdated. I attempted to contact the host a few times without hearing back as soon as I reserved. took a while to hear back but the actual house is managed by a property management group who will contact you via phone and email a few days before your stay. Check in and check our process was very easy. I’d definitely book this place again!

This property is RIGHT next to a beach access and you can see the ocean from the upstairs deck. Has a fantastic pool and hot tub area although I wish it had a privacy fence. Plenty of parking. I will stay here again for the location and pool, for sure. Good management as check in and towel exchange were prettyeasy and the place was very clean. There were some small ants but that’s very common on the island and they had traps out; the tiny ants don’t bite. Some things in the units were a little shabby, beds weren’t great, towels were cheap... but the house has everything you’ll need to stay or even entertain (blender, cooking supplies, etc). Our one complaint was a very strange layout. The upstairs has a big, bright, open kitchen and living—great for lounging. But the only king bed is downstairs, which is a separate unit that is cramped and kind of dark. You end up hanging out in the dark, cramped unit because it’s next to the pool, but cooking upstairs where it’s nicer, and then running back and forth, and the stairs are outside. Would probably be fine for 2 families (one family gets the much better condo, one gets to be poolside and have a king bed) but for just one family it seemed like we ran back and forth a lot and slept in different spaces. There is lots of seating outside for sitting and drinking but not enough tables for meals, maybe an issue only bc we were eating at home bc of Covid. Again, I’d stay here again, but sure do wish it was a more unified house.

The private pool and proximity to the beach are ideal during a pandemic. The set up is a little unusual in that you are staying in two separate units that are accessed from the outside. But the units were clean and comfortable. It's perfect for a family with younger children. We really enjoyed our stay.
