lovely room. delicious dinner. great location.

It is centrally located and easy to find. We had a wonderful meal downstairs. The meal for breakfast was in the room, but was very well thought out and good.
Parking is on the street, so I would recommend getting there as early as possible to get a good spot. The hotel cannot do anything about it, so it is not a reflection on them.

Absolutely fine after a substantial meal the previous evening. Greetings/welcoming attitude of the staff was 1st grade. Enjoyed the chef explaining how to cook rack of lamb.
Our first choice of wine was unavailable, as was the brownie with my coffee although Brian helpfully substituted some shortbread which I enjoyed.

Good location. Clean, comfortable, efficient
WiFi not working. Shower head could not be fitted in bracket and difficult to turn off shower when started (push button)
Car parking is on the street and although not a problem to us does have restricted waiting time at certain times of the day

Would always prefer a cooked breakfast but it was fine. Lovely staff - thank you to Brian for looking after us!

Good position and well decorated room. Delicious evening meal. It was a shame that the hamper breakfast was not of the same standard . A home cooked pastry/ bread rather than packet would have gained 10/10

Bit disappointed to discover that the bar closed at 10pm as we didn't arrive till after 9pm so not much wind down time

Good location, friendly, nice decor
Breakfast was nothing special, noise from the bar until way past midnight.

We stayed in a very nicely decorated room. The bathroom was really good and the continental breakfast in the room was just what we needed. There was a mini fridge outside the room which they had stocked up with water and milk which was really handy. Parking was available outside the front or back of the hotel. View from our window wasn't amazing but we weren't really there for the view so that's not a complaint, just an observation!
The windows could do with improving but there was a note on them to say that they were in the process of having work done to them. Must cost a fortune to do those sorts of jobs as I imagine the windows are listed. Other than that the room was excellent - it felt very upmarket.

There was little breakfast, just some yoghurts and snacks, however, there was lovely cafes nearby that serve breakfast from 10am.

Everything was excellent, restaurant closed though. They did try to book us on elsewhere but ended up having an superb Indian meal.
Bar also closed early.

the room was fine the bed was very comfortable .The bar was nice and not too expensive
the windows didn’t open and it was very stuffy and not very covid friendly . The breakfast hamper contained two tubs of porridge and two muesli the two bananas were brown and the one apple was well fast it’s sell by date. there was a coffee machine but no coffee pods just milk. There was yogurt in a fridge in the corridor. There was no food available on either of the nights we stayed and the only place open was the Indian or a small pub for burgers.

The Capon Tree is a resturant with rooms. The room was very tastfully decorated and so clean and comfortable. We only stayed one night but would have liked to stay longer.
The resturant was very relaxing and the food was excellent.

Location fantastic, meal in the hotel at night was brilliant and very high standard all round.
Basic breakfast pack.

Great dinner as always. Friendly and knowledgeable staff
A bit of a pest having to get milk from. Outside the room.
Also heat was hard to control couldn't turn radiator down low enough
4.0
Very impersonal. Breakfast was a hamper in the room. Shared milk in fridge in the corridor. I think the excuse will be due to covid. Which really can't be used, if the bar and restaurant is full of an evening and they allow you to share a fridge. Wanted to eat in the restaurant but the menu too limited. Certainly not a four star hotel. Felt more like a nice room over a restaurant.
Nice bar . And location.

On arrival the room was clean and tidy. The bathroom well stocked, the breakfast basket adequate.
The breakfast provided was a breakfast basket which was what we expected unfortunately it was not replenished for 2 of our 5 day stay. We had to share 1 bottle of milk between 3 rooms (COVID risk). The wifi did not work in our room. The bins in the room were not emptied after the first night

Didn’t expect a hamper but contents were fine.
Balcony was a lovely bonus.
No complaints

Great idea - breakfast in a basket.
Limited room to enjoy breakfast fully.

Great room and location.

The provision of a buffet breakfast in room was understood at the time of booking. Nevertheless this was disappointing compared to a traditional served breakfast option.

The room was lovely clean and new looking felt so fresh and very clean. Shower was great bed so comfortable. Had a great night's sleep. Lovely surprise having complimentary breakfast basket tea coffee and milk & water in fridge outside of room. Everything and everyone was lovely.
Dinner at night was very delicious. Would definitely stay again
Seating in bar was lovely looking but seats a bit low and tables too small.
No wifi in room
