Ideal for family gatherings, this home features an open great room with an additional, large bonus space. With updated cabinets, counters, and appliances, the kitchen is the perfect place to put together a meal for the entire group. Cozy up in the living room in front of the gas fireplace while you watch your favorite movie on the flatscreen TV. Guest at this home, will also have access to a number of great Tahoe Donner community amenities. What's nearby: You will find a pool, hot tub, sauna, and basketball court located at the nearby Trout Creek Recreation Center. During the winter months, strap on your skis and hit the slopes at the Tahoe Donner Ski Resort. Pack your clubs to visit the Tahoe Donner Golf Course, just three miles away. And head into downtown Truckee to sample the local restaurants or to browse the shops to find the perfect souvenir! Things to know: Free WiFi Full kitchen While chains are required in winter, a 4x4 is recommended * Please note that this home does not have air conditioning *Following the Tahoe Donner HOA agreements, gatherings of people not renting the home are not allowed. Authorities will be notified if there is a party or large gathering in the home. *No excessive noise and/or trash *All exterior lights must be turned off between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am, seven days a week Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). Home was in nice location, plenty of parking. Home was clean and stocked. Kitchen was stocked. Oven was not working for some reason but all other aspects were great

It was clean and well-stocked (especially the kitchen and towels!) Communication with the property managers was good.
It’s an old house and not a 5-star accommodation in general terms, but I gave it 5 stars because it’s exactly as advertised, and a good value!
We did not use the community amenities, so can’t speak to those.

Although there was a snow blower, we really also needed a snow shovel. A text was sent to property manager, who responded saying they were sorry but never provided the shovel.
There were only 3 wine glasses, no potholders, and very few kitchen towels, which was only a slight inconvenience .

The positive is the single story spacious layout with 3 full baths. The negatives:
The house sits right on one of the busiest highways in Truckee. The exterior picture is very misleading. Every vehicle can be heard in every room. Especially bad in morning and evening during rush hours. This is also the route of construction trucks.
The furniture is very dated w couches stained. I sat on the futon sofa and was on the floor.
The towels had an Oder. We found a black moldy sludge in the washer gasket After cleaning out the gasket and several washes the towels were ok.
The king bed needs to be replaced. We both had back aches after 2 nights.
Vacasa was very receptive and facilitated a move.

I have rented home from Vacasa before and will rent from Vacasa in the future. Looks like this home slipped through the cracks of Vacasa high standards.
The Good: This home is in a great location and spacious house
The Bad: The house was dirty, socks and paper were left on the floor from previous renters. The vents in the bathroom were covered in dirt. The towels provided where worn out and the white towels were yellow. Finally the heating system was so loud that you could not sleep...I would not rent this house again

This was one of the best stocked houses we have rented. Didn’t have to buy much at all! Nice spacious bathrooms and comfortable furniture. Would definitely rent this house again. Only negative was that our 88 year old parents had a bit of difficulty going up the steep stairs to enter the house. Had to go up these stairs to unload the car which was a pain! Once inside; all one level and nice.

My family and I rented this cabin for the weekend we loved it , this is our second time in two years we rent this cabin, everything worked out great, cabin was clean and up to our standards, enough room for a family. the street was cleaned daily so that's very convenient enough space to play and take pictures outside great for kids. two things I wish they can improve is their coffee maker is very small and outdated we can only do one coffee at a time, for a family was kind of annoying and toilet paper one 2 rolls per bathroom obviously it depends how long you would stay but anyway thank you for allowing us to stay at your cabin, see you next year.

Nice location and house. Grill worked, make sure to message the host to have full propane tank before arrival.
The property is managed by Vacasa and they very slow and non apologetic to any queries we had. It took them more than 24 - 48 hours to respond.
Note that the property does not have AC. If you are visiting during summer months, it can get very hot at day and at night.

A pool is listed as an amenity for this property. But, you have to pay a daily rate per person per day to use the community pool. Amenities are generally understood to be "free of charge". Example: when a coffee maker or a washer and dryer are listed as amenities, I expect to use them free of charge. Just mention the charge when listing the pool, and all would be well. I mentioned this twice in messages to Vacasa, and I was ignored both times.
Now, as for the property:
* It was well-cleaned, even if we found a plate near the bottom of the stack having lots of food on it (gross). It was not a case of "leftover food after being in the dishwasher".
The plate had clearly never been cleaned. But, I can see how this could "just happen". Again, cleaning was very good overall.
* We really liked the layout of this place. It has a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a separate room with TV just outside this bedroom. This allowed the kids to have their own living area and TV.
* This place really needs a lot of maintenance:
- The corner cupboard door between the stove and the sink is falling off its hinges. So, you don't want to use it, lest the 2nd and final hinge breaks off too.
- It takes entirely too much force to try to slide the master bedroom closet doors to access the "other half" of the master bedroom closet. If we were older and less strong, we would not have been able to budge these "sliding" closet doors.
- The master bathroom toilet is one of those "heavy handle" toilets where you have to push harder than normal and then hold it for the duration of the flush to get an actual flush to occur.
- The master bath sink drained so slowly as to be too gross to use. It was a little cumbersome to hear back from management when messaging through VRBO, but then when I found a number for texting Vacasa directly, the response time got way better. Their people had left for the day as of 5:15 p.m. on a Saturday, so we agreed it was not an emergency, and Vacasa folks dropped off Drano the next morning. No complaints on that.
- The black metal frame of the fold out futon couch has scraped the wall behind it quite badly. It's just one of many visible wear items around the unit.
- There were black scrapes on the master bedroom sliding closet doors.
* There is significant road noise for this unit, as others have pointed out. Also, you would not want to let young children play in the front yard, as the cars are coming by quite fast for the situation.

We really enjoyed our stay here this weekend. The inside of the house was a great set up with kids and adult spaces. Very clean with enough towels. The only opportunities that we struggled with were having enough regular drinking glasses and utensils. We needed to use the dishwasher more than necessary. Also wished that the BBQ and chairs were put out on the deck prior to arriving. BBQ was dirty, so we had to pan fry the burgers. Overall it was a great stay!

Cabin is upgraded, well furnished and has nice decor. Description fit amenities well. It is in a busy road and loud. Maintenance necessary as master toilet refilled and disrupted sleep and fireplace did not work.

We had a wonderful four days stay with our three kids. Kids had fun playing with snow in the back and around the house. House was well cleaned. Kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed cooking and having home cooked food everyday. House is on the main road so not sure how it will be in summer for the kids. Master bathroom was too small but having two other big upgraded bathrooms was a plus. There are few things that we had issues with but I am sure those could be taken care of easily:
1. Always ensure the trash can in the kitchen has the sensor working well as it didn’t work for us due to low battery. So we had to use our hand every time to open the lid of the bin.
2. Master bed mattress and pillows could be upgraded. They were not comfortable compared to the other bedroom beds.
3. Blinds are still old aluminium ones that are sharp and prone to cuts.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, it had a feeling of comfortable cozy cabin. With few upgrades and regular maintenance its a nice property for short stay.

Great property. Very clean and lots of household supplies. Close to town and resort. Had a fun time with my 1 year old and family.
