About this house rental
Wonderful luxury home in Shipyard with great golf and lake views. Updated high end kitchen with granite and stainless steel appliances. Wonderful lake and golf course views abound from the home. Wonderful front porch with great views and screened in porch in the back with golf and wooded views. Very unique end lot with wrap around golf and lake views. Updated with new paint, new flooring, new furniture, new TVs and plenty of room for the family. What a wonderful vacation home in Shipyard. High vaulted ceilings make the home feel very spacious. An open kitchen with lots of windows surrounding brings in a lot of light in the dining and kitchen area. Dining area and breakfast area give you plenty of room to feed everyone. The screen in porch overlooking the back yard and golf course is nice to relax in. Grill on the deck or watch the sunset over the golf course from the front porch. Master bedroom downstairs has a king size bed and a full master bath en suite to enjoy. There is one guest room down with another queen bed and access to a full bath. A very nice office is attached to the guest room too. Go upstairs and there are two guest rooms with two queen beds and two twin beds for the family. Another full bath is upstairs too. Living room has foldout couch too. A long driveway allows room to park the cars too. House sleeps twelve people comfortably. Shipyard has 27 holes of golf, miles of bike paths, Van Der Meer Tennis Center, Sonesta Hotel and beach access so you can enjoy the ocean too. Shipyard is located just minutes from Coligny shops and restaurants. You can enjoy over 30 golf courses, 400 tennis courts, 117 miles of bike paths, 17 miles of beaches, over 200 shops and 250 restaurants while on vacation. Everything was just as promised. Clean, spacious and private. The rental agent was very helpful and easy to contact. Robert Young with Hilton Head Vacations will be the 1st person called for our next HH vacation

Hello, I've been going to Hilton Head over 25 years. We have stayed at many locations. We normally stay in Palmetto Dunes. The shipyard was fine for location purposes, but the house was a different story. The cleaning was not up to speed. The spider webs inside & out grossed me out. You could not open the kitchen windows for looking at the webs. The upstairs toilet constantly clogged. drawer missing in master bedroom. Master bdrm shower never warm. Both porches & deck were full of weeds, needed sweeping (bad). Sorry, there is more, but won't go into it. Just have your cleaners do a better job. The entry door window seals were full of bugs and webs. not impressed.

We had a great stay….for 2 days. We had a family emergency and had to checkout the 3rd morning. We were not offered any discount to that week or any future weeks. My question is did they rent the rest of the week to someone else after we checked out on Tuesday?

The home was for a family vacation. It was very accommodating to all ages. The location was great for all of our needs. Home was very inviting. Will definitely use again.

Nice spacious home that allowed everyone their own space. Kitchen was stocked with essentials (dishes, toaster, coffee maker). Could use a bit more attention to detail on cleaning, showers need recalking, peeling on ceiling of shower upstairs. Nothing major that affected our stay. Water pressure was poor and the water took about 10 min to get warm/hot for showers and then didnt last. Location of the property was great, we used the beach access at Sonesta, but Coligny is very close as well. Love the bike trails. Overall nice stay.

There was plenty of room for all of our family. Loved the pond right across from the house. Not far from pretty much anything you want to do.

The house was wonderful and spacious. Everything was clean and there were plenty of towels and even some leftover beach stuff. My only complaint would be the A/C. It never cooled off and the main floor bedrooms at times felt like a sauna.

We really enjoyed the house. It was spacious and the walking paths were great. We really enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement and the garage to store our bikes. We would definitely stay here again. The only thing we had a hard time with was figuring out the showers; how to turn them on and make them warm. It takes a bit of time for the water to warm up and the faucet sometimes gets stuck on all the showers. But overall, this is a fabulous house for a family!!!

Our group of 7 teens and 2 moms had a blast on our 4 night stay! The home was very clean and large enough for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. There were tv's in every room, but we only used the one in the family room. I don't think we even tried to watch anything local....just Netflix and it was fine. Everyone pretty much watched their shows on their personal devices. No complaints about the wifi not working....with teens, that's important!
It was a short drive to Publix/Starbucks and the beach of course. The only other Plantation we visited was Sea Pines/Harbour Town and it was also a short and easy drive. The Pirate Adventure putt-putt, was our farthest drive and it was fun, but just your average mini-golf course.
The kitchen was fully equipped to handle all 9 of us, though we did bring paper plates and plastic Solo cups to make things a bit easier.
We rented bikes from Pedals (highly recommend) and safely stored them in the spacious garage along with our beach coolers and chairs. We were originally disappointed we could not find adequate accommodations directly on the beach, but this Shipyard location ended up being perfectly fine. We found it to be a short bike ride to the quiet Shipyard Beach as well as to the much more crowded Coligny Beach and shops.
We all loved exploring the Shipyard property by bike, and observing the alligators, especially the last hour or two before sunset when the weather was so pleasant. Over at Coligny, we enjoyed dinner at the Sandbar restaurant (long wait tho) and Rita's Italian Ice is always a group favorite. The shops and boutiques were fun to explore too.
The ping-pong table in the basement was fun, but the a/c didn't work as well down there (if at all) so the kids did not play very much. The house did not come with access to a pool. We really did not need it, but it would have been nice to have the option.

After getting through the bug covered screen door, we entered to find a giant love cockroach on the floor. A variety of bugs, spiders, and spiderwebs all over THE ENTIRE HOUSE. Curtains, above beds, off the speakers, in the closets, on furniture, etc. Ants in the kitchen, on the counter, in the windows. Giant ants covering the back deck that entered into the house, got on furniture, into luggage, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Air conditioning unit was terrible in lower level bedrooms. Hot and humid in master bedrooms and bathrooms at night. Poorly stocked in toiletries and cleaning supplies. Robert Young with the property management was very responsive but unable to rectify all of these problems while we were there. If you want a Halloween immersion experience, this is the house for you.

Some of the outside spaces were at the control of Mother Nature but nothing one can do about that. Speaking of Mother Nature the house felt secluded from rest of the homes and there was plenty of wildlife from the pond across the way to keep you busy while rocking away in the rocking chairs on that wonderful porch. All of my guest were impressed and we had a great time . Only feed back I could give is the living room tv could be in a better spot and there was some trash leftover in the outside cans that made it hard for us to get rid of our own trash but not bad enough to get the management involved. I would definitely book this home again

What a fabulous experience! This was our first visit to Hilton Head Island, so we were truly unsure of what to expect. Well we were blown away, beginning with our VRBO selection. The home looked wonderful on the website, but the reality of the actual home was beyond our expectations. And the location... WOW! It doesn’t get much better. Easy in and out of the Shipyard gates, easy access to shopping, restaurants, golf courses as well as the ability to take a walk and feel apart of the community, yet get lost in your thoughts. We could not of asked for anything better! Thank you VRBO! Thank you Robert of Hilton Head Real Estate! And thank you to the property owners! We had a most memorable two weeks on Hilton Head Island.
