I was called at 1pm on the day we were scheduled to check in at 4pm and told the house was not clean and they didn't know when they could get the house cleaned. They offered to give us a credit for a future trip, but the problem was I had already purchased ski lift tickets and ski lessons for the next 3 days. Basically they said sorry. I checked to see if there were any hotels available, but due to it being the week after Christmas there were not any available. We had no options but to clean the place ourselves or be out thousands of dollars in ski rentals, tickets and lessons. They never brought us toilet paper, paper towels or cleaning supplies (dish soap) to restock the house.
My kids were playing outside and I was walking our dog. I smiled at the neighbor next-door and she said "Don't F*ing try to talk to me" and "If your dog barks today, I will call the police on you". We have a small dog that doesn't bark at all! This situation made us feel very uncomfortable and I told my kids to stop playing out front because this lady was obviously crazy.
The listing says it is pet friendly, but the backyard is a small fenced in dirt yard. Every time our dog went outside he would come back with mud on his paws and we would have to wipe them off so not to track mud into the house.
I believe this house is managed by Vacasa. I believe it is a large company that really doesn't care about individual renters. After this last experience, I would not recommend renting this property.

This property was clean. Check in was easy with keyless entry. The kitchen is well stocked. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and the master has a tv in the room. Plenty of room to spread out. Unfortunately, there is a neighbor who verbally assaulted my adult son and I anytime we entered or exited through the front door and/or opened the garage to pull our car in/out, despite not speaking a word amongst each other to avoid setting her off. She clearly doesn’t like that this is a short term rental and repeatedly told me to “go back to where I live”. Vacasa management confirmed this was an ongoing problem with this neighbor, but did not do anything for us but say they can’t control the neighborhood and tell us we were not eligible for a move to another one of their properties or any other accommodation. Vacasa even called us one night, before reading their notes on the property which well documents the repeated actions of this neighbor, to pass along the accusations of this harassing neighbor.

My husband and I and our two small dogs thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was spotless and equipped with everything one would need, just like home. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, just a 5 minute drive from downtown and very nicely furnished. We especially loved relaxing on the extremely comfortable couch after enjoying a day hiking and kayaking nearby. The only downside is there isn't much of a backyard. It is a very small, fenced dirt area that really doesn't serve much purpose besides a potty spot for dogs. There is however a fenced dog run in the neighborhood to give them a bit more room for relief. Also, while we only used the master bedroom, it would be a great place to stay with our extended family when we are in town again.

Great space that sleeps many comfortably!!!
We really enjoyed our stay at this Place Below the Pines while staying in Flagstaff. Another family and us shared it while up North for a wedding and it was a perfect place to crash. It had plenty of space to sleep 5 adults and 3 kiddos with a King master, 2 Queen Bedrooms, and a bedroom with 2 Twins. The master closet is very large and fit a sleeping bag for our toddler who wanted to be close to us, and would easily fit 2 pack 'n plays if needed. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and appliances, even an instant pot and an automatic coffee maker! Entry was quick and easy too and it was helpful to have access to the garage to park both cars. Overall, it made our stay restful and easy and we really appreciated how clean it was!
