Needs a good cleaning. Bathroom is gross. Don’t mind pets, but the smell was horrible.

Lisa provides a clean, comfy & convenient B&B for a visit to Vancouver. A healthy breakfast as well to set one up for a good day. I appreciated her allowing us to 'park' our luggage ahead of the check-in time, as we weren't driving a vehicle.

I had some meetings at the University of British Columbia (UBC). There aren't many hotels near UBC and the hotels in Downtown Vancouver are rather far from campus.
I thus found The Sunshine House on Expedia. It's a Bed-and-Breakfast in a neighborhood suburb (Dunbar, Point Grey, Kitsilano). It's free (street parking) and only a 10-min drive to UBC. So, I decided to take a chance.
It's a large 2-story house (and basement) with about 5 guest rooms. The owner/family lives in basement.. The main floor has a few guest rooms and the dining area (where breakfast is served). The 2nd floor has the remaining guest rooms.
I enjoyed the congeniality and hospitality of the owner (Lisa). They are helpful without being overly so (i.e. they leave you alone). They place is quiet and clean, the room/bed is comfortable. One is given 2 keys, one for the front door and the other for your room. There's always coffee (Keurig), hot water, and breakfast includes muffins, croissants, juice, etc. Lisa also offers guests eggs.
I would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Downtown Vancouver is hectic with lots of traffic and hotel parking is expensive. Unless you really need to be in Downtown and/or require public transportation, The Sunshine House is a great option!

Awesome staying experience, quiet and safety with beautiful sight. Warmly hospitality, exellent breakfast even have home made pumkin congee. Will come again.

I enjoyed our stay.
The location is excellent, close to bus stop and only one busy away from vancover downtown.
The neighborhood of sunshine house is so beautiful and so is the sunshine house.

Lisa was very hospitable. Great breakfast. Beautiful neighborhood and close to everything. Price was fantastic compared to hotels in the area.

This is a beautiful house in a charming neighborhood. The owner is easy to communicate and welcoming. This place has everything you need ready for your vacation. We stayed in the room with the private bathroom and room itself was pretty spacious. Bathroom is tiny but functional and meets the needs.

Over all very nice.
Front of house is poorly lit and taxi had problem decerning right house.
Room was on the cool side as there is no heating in the room.
There is no handy electric plugs for charging ph etc.
The owner and family are very nice, with her children helpful and polite

Very helpful to my family in their travels. Moved them into a larger space, great info on how to get around and booked cab to the airport. This is a family home, so if you aren't comfortable with children, then this may not be the place for you. Great for my kids. Thanks for everything.

The room was spacious and clean for our family. A refresh with new pillows would be a nice touch.

Lisa was friendly and respinsive to our needs. Breakfasts were very good with a variety of food options. Beds were comfortable. Neighborhood was quiet & walkable. Location within 100 meters of the bus stop to take the #2 bus downtown & back. Restaurant & coffee shop a block away.

This older house was cool and damp (September) leaving a faint mustiness to the air and fabrics. Like most older houses, the room was small and cramped with barely enough room to move around.

This is a very nice older home. It is in a very nice residential area of Granville Island. The decor is a mix of antiques and Asian decor. It was very clean and our hostess was very welcoming. My husband and brother-in-law enjoyed the breakfasts. We came in at night and had trouble locating the house. Lisa stood out on the sidewalk in front of the home to help us locate it. The only negative was a slightly small shower. Loved the huge walk-in closet and the fans she provided.

If you like walking in a residential area to bus stop, this is a pleasant location, near bus routes that connect to rapid transit. The host was pleasant, the room was clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom facility was clean. House was quiet and other guests were pleasant. Not ideal for families perhaps, but fine for singles and couples.

Lisa, the owner is very kind and helpful.
She respects us as a senior couple and helped us taking our small carry on luggage upstair and loaded into our car.
We will definitely go back.

This is a perfect place to stay when in Vancouver. When i get to go back i will definitely rebook here. I would rare it a 5* BNB

Lisa our host was very helpful.She sold us bus passes, let us store our luggage at her house before check in and cooked us a HUGE breakfast. Her children were very cute and friendly as well.
