Wonderful hotel, conveniently located to so many great areas in the lower east side. Great fashion, shopping, and culture. The hotel was easy to get in and out of and offers no contact entry. Safe neighborhood and rapid customer service!

Pricey, but not absurdly so for Manhattan. Excellent rooftop. VERY small rooms. Like less than a foot of space between the bed and wall. But it was clean, safe, reasonably staffed, and extremely well located. Worth it.

Small room by the front door but not as loud as we thought it might be. Nice location for Soho, Nolita and Greenwich Village. More space in the room and better reading lights would have been nice. Fun rooftop with canopy in case it rains. We would stay here again.

This hotel was fine for my purposes. A quick trip to pack up my elderly parent.

The photos are false. The building is hard to find in the dark and need to check in online ti gain access code. No luggage storage. We had a ground floor unit right next to the opening door where patrons come through often in the morning. The room was not ideal with the windows painted with graffiti on the outside and do not block out noise. The bed squeaked an obnoxious amount and was real stiff.

Loved everything about this property. The location and service is amazing. However the AC does not work, but heating system does. I don’t know if that applies to all rooms.

The location was perfect

Great location. Paint chipping in room on multiple qalls & surfaces

The furniture is old and damaged. The walls are highly damaged. Ceiling is rusty. There's barely space to walk in btw the bed and the wall to the other side. We're skinny and could barely fit. The room is advertised as sound proof but you can hear everything in the hallways, from the street, the elevator, etc. Walls are super thin. Bed is hard as a rock and the blanket is thin. If you need new towels it's in the basement which means anyone could've touched them or dropped on the floor and put back. Too expensive for the room and hotel you get. Rooms were clean though.

Good - comfortable bed, clean, location in LES
Bad - noisy (bars around are open late plus general street noise. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep before 2am), furniture is old and cheap, room is quite small but fine for a solo traveler, they do not clean the rooms
A good room for a short trip when you’re not spending much time in there. Make sure you have access to email as they send all the check in info (there is no check in desk, it’s all codes/virtual)

Very clean and quiet hotel

Room temp was hot and could not be adjusted. No Staff on premises for 3 out of the 4 days there

Very clean. Very safe.

Very much a budget hotel. Room is not much bigger than the bed. However, it would be hard to beat the price and location. Hotel is on top of the 2nd avenue subway station.

The Ridge Hotel provides an interesting alternative for people looking for a no-frills stay at a cost typically below other properties in the area. By limiting when staff is on-site (based on my experience, only around check-out time, and then primarily to ensure check-outs, clean up and turnover rooms) The Ridge is able to cut costs. The room I stayed in was small, but clean and functional. Furniture was limited, with no desk or chair, just the bed. However, a communal area in the basement was large and provided space to work, eat, watch television and converse with friends. The guest room also included a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker, as well as a television. Unfortunately, the TV in my room only received a few channels when I arrived, and later stopped receiving any channels. Since my stay was short and the room was primarily for sleeping and changing clothes, that was not a major issue for me. The bathroom was clean and provided a spacious shower. There is also a rooftop observation deck equipped with small tables and chairs and a nice view of much of the Manhattan skyline that would provide a comfortable atmosphere for conversation and a drink in warmer weather (I was there in January, when the weather was not conducive to spending much time on the observation deck). Because my room was on the first floor at street level, traffic noise was a factor, but I didn't have any trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep in spite of it.

This place made it easy for me to get around. The staff were always friendly. I liked having the kitchen facilities, which made my life easier. Only suggestion would be, for long stays, they offer you at least 1 room cleaning for free. Otherwise, I will totally stay there again.

The wrong ways clean and nice and cozy

The hotel is located in SoHo which is really convenient to access any shops restaurants and to get to the subway. While the facilities were limited to a rooftop and lounge the staff who were on shift were very friendly. The wifi is horrible. They have a system which connects the door systems to the wifi since there are no room keys and just a passcode. This uses alot of the wifi and it’s hard to use it. Free snacks, coffee and water also provided which is a benefit. Overall a nice stay for a few days when visiting NY

We stay at a lot of hotels in Manhattan because of work and this is by far the worst one we’ve stayed in. I also never wrote reviews but felt compelled in this situation. The rooms are tiny, even by NY standards. The bed was super hard and “supported” by a makeshift wood frame. The bathroom was a mess and there was no working temp control. We turned the heat off in the middle of the night and opened the window and it was still 80 degrees in the room by check out time. Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty of hotels in this price range that are much better.

Didn’t realize that contactless meant no daily housekeeping or in person staff to help with any issues. Overall, average stay, location is great

room was sufficient for one night. clean and rooftop had a great view. No staff available and check in is contactless. Glad everything went smoothly.

The room was small but comfortable which is typical for New York. It was enough for me since I was mostly out the entire day. It’s also right near the subway and now too far of a from a lot of the attractions in New York. I enjoyed it would come back again.

The property is safe with auto lock from the main entrance to the room. All the facility seems like automated and thus it’s usual to seem staffs less in the front desk. It is located in nice place with lots of dining options in walkable distance. The only thing I don’t like is in long stay they don’t come to clean and change towels and we hardly see the staff in front desk it’s difficult to communicate.

This is a budget boutique hotel located in the Lower East Side. The room is small, but perfect for a solo traveler or couple. Everything was incredibly clean, the wifi and thermostat worked well and there are nice views of the city, especially from the seventh floor. Conveniently located by the F train (2nd Ave stop) and pretty much everything you need is close by or in walking distance. The staff person was super friendly and allowed me to check in an hour early, and also let me check out an hour later. I would most certainly stay here again.

You literally will have to take out your own garbage or pay a huge additional fee... substandard

This hotel was just perfect--good price, simple accommodations, great neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again.

Fabulous location, and comfortable enough bed. Usually that's enough for me to be delighted by a hotel, but it's not a full service hotel. It is Not Fun trying to photograph your ID in a jostling cab and then standing in front of the hotel in winter with your bags because there's no front desk. The people we dealt with were kind and capable, but the extra ability to check in personally is actually pretty useful.
Also: very thin walls, and a ton of street noise, in case that matters to you.

Worth the price

For the price this was an incredible hotel find! There was someone at front desk to help us, they answered our texts instantly, service was great, view was awesome (esp from roof), we checked in early, and we were even able to leave our luggage at hotel after checkout. Had a very positive experience.

My ground floor room was noisy and had me feeling like I was on the streets of Manhattan. No concierge service meant I couldn't easily ask for a room change. The bathroom toilet was stained but otherwise clean. The room was cramped and the floor was sticky. Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable too!

Although the room was in a tight space, I think they used the area very sufficiently. I enjoyed the hot water in the shower & the shower head. The bed was very comfortable...

Great location half a block from subway and a block away from whole foods
2.0
We had a good experience at The Ridge Hotel . Staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early which was helpful. I only gave it a good because the mattress was very uncomfortable and sagging and there was no bath mat in the bathroom and the tile got extremely slippery. Also there was no creamers or sweeteners with the coffee set up.
