We were pleasantly surprised that the place was bigger than it seemed in the pictures. It is within walking distance of our favorite place to eat breakfast and the pier.

Me and my Husband stayed here for our Honeymoon, it was a nice and quaint little place. Just enough room for the two of us. And it is quite literally 100 steps to the beach! If you are 5’10 or taller I’d maybe look into getting a different place, my Husband hit his head a few times on the bedroom door lol! The only thing that I would change is the way the shower is set up, they have it suction cupped to the wall and you have to take it off to wash your hair. Over all great stay.

Very clean. Curtains too see-thru, especially for a bedroom. Did NOT like a single chain, no lock, being only thing keeping outside door shut to bathroom..and I mean OUTSIDE. Door directly in front of toilet led to outside car garage and only a flimsy chain to stop anyone from opening door into bathroom. Other than those two things, room was clean and nice.

Wonderful location and lovely place
We had a lovely stay recently at this property. Overall we love it and would come back. Here are a few things we noticed that management could look into: 1) the dusting could have been better: top of fridge, blinds, vents. 2) there was a piece of metal that sticks out on the floor between the bathroom sink area and the shower. It was rusted. If we had run into it it would have been a bad cut and being that it was rusted, probably would have had to get a shot. It should be removed as it doesn't seem to serve a purpose. 3) The blinds on the entry door needs to be replaced. We had to use a pillowcase as a curtain and clipped to the blinds so that passerby couldn't look into the place. 4) The dryer was not working. We washed a load on the last night and it was still sopping wet after an hour on normal, then high setting. We ended up hang dry our stuff on the chairs outside. 5) the shower head was wonky. It pointed inward and you'd have to hold it with 1 hand to get a straight stream. If we had stayed a week, I would have used command strip to hold it place. :-) So those were the bads that are fixable. Overall, the management and concierge were great with quick responses to our requests: door was locked after our check-in time and they had to reset the code; the coffee pot cracked before we even got to use it and they showed up with a brand new pot. The access to the beach was perfect! We felt safe at the location and could walk to many places. It was our 1st time in Tybee and we loved it, Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A Family Favorite for Almost Ten Years Now!
We first stayed at 19th Street Beachside Hideaway almost ten years ago and have returned multiple times. We love the coziness of the unit and the location...just a few steps to South Beach and minutes from the Strand. The decor is cute without being kitsch, and the huge covered porch behin lattice provides a great spot to read, have a meal, or just enjoy the ocean breeze. You can't beat this unit for its location, convenience, ambiance, and price.

Relaxing
We visited Tybee at the end of July, the Beachside Hideaway was so perfect for my husband and I to relax at the beach. Being so close to the beach to watch sunrises was the perfect beginning to our days. The hideaway was decorated so cute, it was clean and in the perfect location and walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The added bonus were the complimentary excursions offered. We really enjoyed the kayaking with the added bonus of dolphins visiting us while out in the ocean. We can easily say, this was the best vacation for us. Now I want to retire here. Thank you Natural Retreats.

Very Cute and Peaceful!
This was mine and my husbands first trip to Tybee/Savannah. We arrived around 10:30 at night and were unable to get the key pad to work so we contacted Kelly and she was so helpful and got us in with no problem! The apartment is located right next to the beach in the basement of a large beach house. We had sole access to the deck outside which we enjoyed sitting on in the mornings. The only mild annoyance was that since it’s in the basement and the people staying in the house above had small children they could be heard running around above us along with furniture being moved. It wasn’t enough for me to say I wouldn’t stay there again but might be for someone else. Loved that it was within walking distance of almost everything! Overall it was a very enjoyable stay!

Misrepresented would rate 0 if I could
This property was misrepresented. when I booked it on a Monday it was listed as ocean front 12 steps to the beach. When I arrived on Wednesday it was 4 building deep and 289 steps to the beach. Spent over 2 hours on my first day there flighting and arguing between property mgr and VRBO. With no resolved. Totally ruined my first vacation in 3 years.

Perfect Location
This was our first time traveling to Tybee. Our Beachside Hideaway made it such a fabulous experience! It was perfect for our group of 3 adults (2 in the bed, one on the futon). The air was really cool the whole time, and we loved enjoying our evenings on the porch while listening to the waves. The name couldn't describe it any better - it is a cute, cool little hideaway and only a short walk from the beach!! We were able to enjoy the beach for a few hours, and come back to fix lunch and never had to worry about driving/parking. It is on the end of the island, so traffic was light. We were also close enough to some shops and eateries, that we were able to walk to them. Highly recommended!! I know we will be back some day!

Great location, quiet, & had everything we needed
I visited this home for a week in July and it was one of the best places that we’ve ever stayed in.

Our first impression was good But as we got settled we began to see some unsettling issues.
First of all, it was hot and stuffy in the apt. A note on the refrigerator stated we couldn't turn the AC down.. so I called Joy and explained we paid good money and didn't want to be hot ALL Week!!! Joy said to go ahead and turn it down, and to not pay attention to note . But we worried about doing that because she stated it was so the unit didn't freeze up.. UGG So we did turn it down , but still worried !!! Also, it only had one key , not two like stated.. I took pics of the nasty sink drain cover!!! It had caked on food. (See pics) We where very concerned about the wiring in kitchen/living area.. There were extension cord everywhere. My son is a firefighter and said to be very careful It definitely looked like a Fire Hazard.. (see pics). The lamp in living was going on and off , So we had to unplug it.. The bathroom door, to the outside, had toilet tissue stuck in The frame. We removed it to discover we could see outside thru the wide cracks.. without the tissue paper mosquitos and other bugs were coming in.. So we had no choice but to put Toilet tissue back in the door (see Pics) We only had 3 washcloths for the week and there were 3 of us. So that sucked!!! The living room blind was broke. We really were looking forward to playing board games & cards outside on porch..But the table and chairs were very NASTY!!! We couldn't use them at all (see pics) This was my first time using this site and now I don't think I EVER WILL AGAIN!!!! Most of the problems could have been easy fixes But no one bothered 😕 Maybe this will help to at least fix this rental!! We Loved Tybee Island but was very dissatisfied with our home away from home !!!! Sincerely, Marilyn Newhouse

Great location
We visited in June during the busy season. The price was very reasonable and the location was perfect. No beach view, but only steps away from the boardwalk. I like how it was at the very south end with very little traffic of people. But still walking distance from the main pier. But be careful if you are over 6ft tall, the door frames are pretty low.

Great get away
I went over Mother's Day weekend. The apartment is cozy and comfortable. The only couple of complaints I have is that the mattress needs updating and when it rains alot the entrance to the apartment (not the apartment door but the decking leading to the apartment) floods. The location was wonderful and the owners were super nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Cozy and near the beach
The ceilings are not very high, so a person over 5'10" may have an issue, since my daughter and I are height challenged (5'1")we did not mind it. We thought the property was a good value for what we paid. We liked being in the residential area and being close enough to walk to downtown to restaurants and shopping. The building is old and therefore you could hear the neighbors above you.

Not Secure or Safe
The pictures do this apartment more justice than the actual. There were 4 doors and each would not lock properly and you could see day light all around the doors. The bathroom door was held shut with a chain. You could actual see outside when you were in the bathroom. Very poor conditions. My daughter stepped on a nail right outside door leading to the yard which put a hole in her foot and shoe. I picked up several pieces of boards with nails sticking out and placed them under the stairs. (Looked like pieces of roofing) I can not believe they put this apartment on market for rent. My sister, daughter and I left a day early due to the conditions. (Not a safe place and very low budget.) Will not stay here again.

Clean and Cozy and Close to the beach
This small basement level condo was exactly as described. Short walk to the beach which was less crowded on that side of the pier, large private porch to sit on, quiet area overall. There is a public beach parking street directly in front of the porch but not so busy and loud that it was a bother. Like any place I have stayed, the bed was uncomfortable. Never ended up using the grill because it was rusted and super dirty. That's what usually happens though when its left uncovered and who knows if any guests care to clean it. The washer and dryer were a great perk - I went home with very little dirty laundry. The DVD player didn't work, but we carry a small cheap one around with us when we travel so we can have our son watch a movie in one room while we watch in another room. TV channels were great - seemed to be a decent cable package. I know most people don't sit and watch TV on vacation at the beach, but with a young child we usually settle down once its dark and stick to the condo, making food ourselves and watching movies and TV together. The doorways are low, as advertised, but my 6'2" husband had to hit his head a few times before he remembered to dunk. The condo overall was very clean, cozy and cutely decorated with as most amenities. There was also a welcoming basket with assorted snacks and sparking soda - a nice touch. Overall I would definitely consider staying here again, especially for the price. It was perfect for a young family seeking true relaxation, the ability to cook and stay in, and so close to the beach.
