Centrally Located Comfortable Renovated Monument Apartment
About this condo rental
Nestled in Amsterdam, this charming condo for R 4,786 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. This newly renovated apartment is housed in a newly restored historic building, on the fourth floor. The apartment is located in the heart of the city, the canal district. 300 Mts from Anne Franks house and the Wester Church. The chimes of the Westerkerk join in every hour. .... yet away from the noise of the city. Located on the edge of the “negen straatjes”, the place to be for shopping and dining. Here you will find numerous high-end shops, coffeebars and restaurants. Numerous sightseeing activities and museums within walkin distance. Excellent public transport connection nearby at the Westermarket. It is perfectly suited for families with children. Please note that there are no cooking facilities (no stove, oven or microwave). There is a toaster, electric kettle, Nespresso machine with milk foamer and other basic kitchen utilities. There is a dining table and sitting area with wifi. The apartment is located on the fourth floor and there is no elevator. Parking There are public parking spaces but due to the apartment's central location it's quite difficult to find an empty spot and it will cost you € 7,50 per hour. Q-park on Marnixstraat is only a 10 minute walk from the apartment but €45,- per day. They have more parking garages though and those further away from city centre might be cheaper. Parking Centrum Oosterdok is a parking garage on Oosterdoksstraat 150. €25,- per day and about a 20 minute tram ride or 30 minute walk from the apartment. The cheapest option is Park and Ride on the edges of the city (€8,- for the first 24 hours and €1,- per day after that). You have to travel into the city centre by public transport though. You can read about the terms here: https://www.iamsterdam.com/en/plan-your-trip/getting-around/parking/park-and-ride

Great neighborhood in Amsterdam!

We visited Amsterdam this past November and this was the perfect little home base for all of our adventures! We could walk almost everywhere (or hop on a tram) and it was a nice cozy home at the end of the day. My husband and I came with our two adult kids (25 & 23) who shared the alcove space, we were visiting our youngest who was studying in Amsterdam for the semester. Everything was exactly as advertised- we didn’t do any meals at the apartment except for takeout a couple of times and we made coffee in the morning on occasion. It felt so authentically Dutch - way better than a hotel!

Great Host, Easy communication, Fantastic quiet location. We will be back!

Excellent communication and property was as shown. Stairs are a consideration if you are not mobile and have little children with prams etc. Loved our stay!

We pretty much just used the place to sleep, but it was in a super convenient location.

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect. The apartment is absolutely beautiful. We arrived at 12am and getting in was no problem at all, we had no issue with keys and unlocking. The apartment was well cleaned and prepared for us, including lots of extra amenities like umbrellas and plug adapters! The location is marvellous and close to central. The street is quiet during the evenings so restful sleep all round! We felt incredibly cosy here and we will definitely be returning, thank you Roos.

Location was amazing, flat was very nice and had everything we needed, BUT it was freezing in the flat and I tried contacting the host to help us turn up the temperature but she didn’t respond. It was hard to sleep because it was so cold. Also for us this was fine but be aware there are 4 flights of very steep and winding stairs to get to the flat. Otherwise we loved our stay!

Property is as described….steps could be an issue but in my mid 70’s I easily navigated once a day. Not fun with luggage. Rose attentive to a heating situation and my only suggestion is to make sure thermostat issue has been resolved.
Definitely is worth 5 stars if not just for the location and cleanliness!

The apartment was cozy and the location was amazing! Could not be better.

Great location. Explored all parts of city by walking but public transportation near by.
Very clean.
4th floor walk up steep stairs so don’t bring too much heavy luggage.

Wonderful space & host! Rose is an excellent communicator. Neighborhood was great with everything we needed nearby.
Photos are accurate; space is long and narrow but has everything one needs. Second bedroom does not have a fourth wall, but is on the other side of the apartment from the one walled bedroom, so as others have commented, better suited to a family traveling together as opposed to two couples.
Steep winding staircase could be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues, or who overpacks (guilty!).
Bathroom was spacious by European standards. Skylight and huge windows fill apartment with light.
We enjoyed our stay at Rose's place and imagine anyone else would also.

This was a comfy apartment with lovely views on the 4th floor. The stairs were a workout, but SO Dutch. The beds were comfortable and the interior atrium with plants and skylights were nice. Just what we needed as home base for our explorations of Amsterdam. Our hostess was very accommodating and responsive to our questions, as well.

You cannot beat the location of this apartment unit: in the heart of the Jordaan, near the Negenstraatjes; close to great restaurants and within 10 minute riding distance to the Vondelpark and Museum Quartier. Our host was very communicative and answered all of our questions. We really enjoyed our time in the flat!

Would stay here again if in Amsterdam, within walking distance to lots of sites to visit. Fairly quiet neighborhood. Great views from the windows.

No kitchen and poor Wi-Fi.

Great place and location. Light and bright. Stairs steep and narrow but not a problem for people of average fitness. Elderly travelers may not be suited. We are 60 years old and did fine. Fine for a cold breakfast or toast and jam or yogurt or a lunch of cheese and meat. Coffee makers available. Worked fine for us but no real cooking. Second bed is an alcove area with window and drapery for privacy. Good for small family or couple but not two couples who want true privacy. Bathroom nice and wet floor from shower was more amusing than a real problem. Stay here and avoid an expensive hotel and get more room and the best location. Host was responsive. Overall very pleased. Happy with our stay for short. Bell tower under renovation so nice and quiet for at least a year I would guess.

Beautiful apt in a perfect location. The canel belt, food stores, cafe, restaurants, tram all near by. We walked everywhere. Apt was in a safe neighborhood full of shops and people. Rose was east to communicate with.

Perfect location, had to book 5 nights as request to book 4 nights was not allowed even though there was a block of 8 nights available, so subsequent guests must have been allowed 3 nights!
Apartment was adequate for 3 adults, up several flights of narrow steep stairs which wasn’t an issue as we were travelling light. However, the hall and stairs was off putting as was very dirty. We loved our stay but premises could have been cleaner. Plenty of supplies incl toiletries and basic food items which was helpful.

I didn't want to leave this apartment. It was so cozy. We slept great at night. I love Amsterdam and the neighborhood is lovely. There's a fun neighborhood bar on the corner where we went a few nights in a row. At night we would sit out on this bench and it was so quiet, and no road noise because cars really don't go down the street.
My only complaint is the shower got the entire bathroom floor wet, but that's more common in Europe. We ended up using more towels than usual.
I would stay here again next time I'm in Amsterdam. Thanks!

We had a great time in Amsterdam staying at Rose’s place. It was convenient to everything we wanted to do see & do while spending 6 nights. The unit was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!

Apt was as described. Cozy and warm, fantastic location. The stairs are steep and narrow so pack accordingly. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. I would absolutely stay here again if visiting Amsterdam. And Rose (the host) is so welcoming.

Awesome property. Location, amenities, view!! Roos was one of the best hosts with whom I have ever dealt. Communicative, thorough, and kind before, during, and after our stay! Will stay at property again!

Very nice spot for our family with two adults and two teenagers. The apartment is cozy but it is enough space for four with two separate sleeping areas. Nice bathroom and kitchen had everything we needed for a 4-night stay. Location is great, very close to Anne Frank house and many nearby restaurants and shops. Highly recommended.
5.0
As other reviewers have said (and as Roos is clear about in the listing), the apartment is at the very top of a tall building with narrow, steep stairs. Getting bags up and down was a bit challenging but most of the time it was fine and the effort was worth it for the views over the back of the property to the WesterKirk. Comfortable beds, an excellent shower in a fair sized bathroom, sensible kitchen facilities made it a comfortable place to land at the end of a long days sightseeing. The location is perfect. Close to the nine streets, 10 minutes from Dam Square, 3 minutes from the Anne Frank House and 20 minutes from the museum quarter (all on foot), we didnt have to use any other form of transport all week.

Good property and location

We appreciated the natural light, as it rained a lot during our stay. Super-comfy beds, good use of the space, and a knowledgeable and personable host. Drawbacks are the climb to the top (carpet on stairs and the walls need some work), no stove OR microwave, less heat than we needed during our chilly visit, and a shower that overflows its borders onto the bathroom floor.

as advertised. Would recommend!!

A well thought out and homely apartment in a safe and welcoming area of Amsterdam. Everything that we wanted to visit was within walking distance. The beds were comfortable and the apartment clean. The host was very thoughtful and easy to communicate with. We would easily stay here again.

Nice stay
This apartment was in a great location. Close to everything. The stairs are steep up to the apartment but totally doable if you are in good shape. Rose was very responsive and helpful.

Amazing place, perfect for our family of four, amazing location.
The place was spacious and clean. The master had a view of Westerkerk. You get used to the stairs, and it's worth it considering the amazing location in Jordaan. Walking distance to everything, but outside the hustle and bustle of the city center. Rose provided everything we needed and communication was frequent. Our first trip to Amsterdam was amazing and we loved this place.
