Of all the VRBO properties we’ve stayed at, this tops them all for comfort, convenience, and fully equipped. Great for two seniors visiting family over the Holidays.

We were charmed by the Rose Cottage viewing beautiful Trout Lake in the heart of Vancouver. Colin, our friendly and informative host, was a definite contribution to our very pleasant return to our Vancouver home. The Rose Cottage is lovely, cleverly appointed and equipped to accommodate all our needs. We thank you for a glorious stay at a very special location. Candace Thayer-Coe

The property was perfect for what our little family needed. The kitchen had all of the necessities, the bedroom was so comfy. It was conveniently close to a grocery store and public transit. The park across from the cottage was so wonderful, the dog watching provided countless hours of entertainment. On the weekend there is a farmers market with so many wonderful things. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone we know headed to Vancouver.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was in a great location for our needs. We were close to amenities and to our son who we were here visiting.
The view out the front window was amazing. We had the opportunity to watch dogs at play.
The hosts were attentive to our needs and so very pleasant to deal with.
We will definitely try to stay here again when we return for another visit.

Cottage is nice - having the farmers market right outside is great! As with any rental of this type there comes a learning curve... (recycling, parking restrictions, etc.) but nothing unmanageable. "Cottage" is technically fairly current so there are devices which need to be learned as you go. The only thing that concerned me was the bathtub - quite slippery for a shower and I didn't see a means of resolving that other than to be quite careful. (perhaps I just didn't see a bathmat hiding somewhere?) If that was the biggest problem we had you know we had a good time - seriously!

The cottage isn't really big, especially if you see it from the outside. But on the inside, you find everything you need to house four persons for a comfortable stay. Everything you need (supermarket, restaurants, TransLink) is within walking distance. We really enjoyed our time!

My husband and I stayed at Rose Cottage at the end of a two adventure in the Canadian Rockies. Everything about the Cottage was perfect - - - communication with Ocea & Colin, adjusting check-in to meet our schedule, the location, comfort and amenities of the cottage, the park!! It was so easy. Metro and grocery store and easy six blocks away. The kitchen very well equipped to eat in. The Cottage, although small, is well laid out to feel spacious. Ocea & Colin we’re extremely responsive but gave us absolute privacy. If you’re coming to Vancouver, THIS is the place to stay!

Why stay in a hotel when you can stay on a gorgeous lake in the city? Throughout the booking process the owners were very responsive and very accommodating. This sweet cottage was close to everything and stocked with all the basics. We will be repeat visitors!

Lovely little open space cottage right by a small lake (perfect for morning coffee or reading a book!). Sleeps two in a comfortable bed and another on a full size pull out couch (no doors in between). Parking is easy with the pass they provide and it’s a good central location (only about 20 min from locations like Stanley Park, Lynn Canyon, and Deep Cove). Loved this cozy little home and would absolutely stay there again! Huge thanks to the owners!

A cottage in the city
This is our second stay and it was great as ever! Excellent location. Can walk to grocery store and restaurant and lake. Quiet, comfortable cottage with everything one would need. Very clean and well organized. Owners quickly respond to any queries.

Love this little cottage!
This was our second time staying here and we were still impressed! Colin and Ocea know how to provide a comfortable, relaxing place. Everything is as it should be. Easy tv to use. Clean, comfortable and I scented towels and sheets were much appreciated! We travel several times a year around the US and Canada and this place is in the top 3 places we have stayed. We will definitely stay here whenever we are in Vancouver. Next time we will plan better and stay on a Saturday so we can attend the Farmers Market. The only thing that we thought about this time around is that the bed was a little 'bouncier' than we remembered but that will not keep us away.
Thank You C & O for sharing this Gem!!

Beautifully Relaxing
A very quiet and tranquil location with a wonderful view of Trout Lake. Well equipped kitchen and a beautiful claw tub for soaking in after a cold day in the rain. Enjoyed watching all the different colored umbrellas belonging to people walking in the March rain around the park. Excellent restaurants within a 15 minute walk to Commercial Avenue. Enjoyed the gym and sauna at the community center which was a five minute walk away. Already planning my next visit!! RM from Calgary

This place fit our needs very well. Owners were courteous and cottage was very clean.
This place is great! We really enjoyed the view of the park out of the front room. It is a tiny cottage, but the layout is excellent and comfortable. Romantic getaway? This is your place! Directions for internet, and checkout were clearly stated and the owners were available immediately via email. I will definitely be checking on this one again for my next Vancouver getaway.
Sky train/Safeway/Starbucks less than 10 minute walk.

Pleasently surprised
Property was exceptional, more than we anticipated. The host did an excellent job of accommodating us and making sure we were well taken care of. The weather was cold for most of our time, but the cottage was nice and warm. The lake froze over and we were able to enjoy that with the citizens of Vancouver. We would definitely recommend this property as it is within walking distance to most amenities. We enjoyed our time and would return again.

Clean, comfortable and peaceful oasis in the city suburbs
This cottage is perfect for visiting Vancouver. It has everything required for a comfortable stay in a peaceful location with a nice view of the park around Trout Lake from the lounge window. Colin and Ocea were very welcoming and advised no question was considered too 'stupid' and they would do their utmost to make our stay a good one and help in anyway necessary. All information regarding check was comprehensive and we found instructions easy to follow. Commercial and Broadway is just a short walk away with varied eating places (Colin advised us of the more scenic route to take to reach it), and this is also the nearest skytrain station making it easy to access the main part of Vancouver for sightseeing in a matter of minutes. I would definitely stay here again if fortunate enough to be able to visit Canada a second time! Attractions - We were lucky enough to secure a table at The Vancouver lookout revolving restaurant on spec - what a fantastic view - we watched the view change from daytime to night-time in the 2 hours we were there. We also did the harbour cruise which was a pleasant and informative way of learning of Vancouver's history. Stanley park is lovely too - but huge - you need a few hours to see it all on foot.

A perfect lake cottage in the city
Rose cottage is a gem. It is so close to downtown and yet you are right across from a lovely little lake and park. I enjoyed breakfast outside watching people and families, in this comfortable community, walking, running, playing, dog walking and more. At night I could stroll down to the lake. The cottage is so comfortable, clean and had everything we could need. It was a treat to be there on Saturday in the summer to walk to the farmers market which was almost next door. Ocea and Colin are great hosts and were available if needed and respected our privacy. I will stay again. And again.

Rose Cottage, Vancouver BC
The Rose Cottage is a great place to stay. The cottage is modern, extremely clean, and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, all you need to bring is food!
The location is very quiet, just across a backstreet from Trout Lake park. There is a great walking/jogging path around the lake which my wife used every day. There is a well equipped playground for the young ones in the park as well.
Although we didn't get a chance to meet Ocea and Colin, (our busy schedules didn't match up) we talked to them occasionally during our visit. They seem like extremely nice folks, very anxious to make our stay enjoyable (which it was!).
I would certainly recommend the Rose Cottage as a great place to stay. We will stay there again, if it's available!!!
Truly deserving a 5 star rating!

Home away from home in every sense!
A TWO MONTH stay at Rose Cottage - yes you read that right, and we already miss the experience.
Super convenient to shops, neat local restaurants, the rec centre at Trout Lake and public transit, this cute cottage property checks all the boxes. Separate from the main house, you enjoy total privacy yet are close enough if you needed anything.
Ocea and Colin were very helpful in setting the cottage up for our longer stay with extra towels and toiletries and were perfect hosts.
The cottage is completely equipped, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well suited for a couple or small family. Bring a travel mug and take your morning coffee for a walk around the lake, meet Vancouver's most polite and personable dogs in the leash-free zone across the street and if your visit coincides with the Trout Lake Farmer's Market (May - end Oct) - skip breakfast and enjoy the treats brought right outside your front door.
This was our third VRBO experience and well, we won't be looking at anything else when we return to Vancouver.
Best book it early to avoid disappointment.

Enjoyed our stay
As advertised. Clean, comfortable, and in a good location. Would stay again.
We missed the Farmers Market, but enjoyed watching dogs play by the lake in the park across the road. We had a car part of the time, and parking was no problem. Also no problem when we had no car -- easy to walk to the train station.
