Location to Dumfries house just about one mile away.
Friendly cheerful staff.
We had room 15, dreadful view.....but we didn't mind as it was really quiet, at the end of a corridor, so no one passing very early or late and no one banging doors. Large room, good bathroom comfy bed but had a winter duvet on, so quite hot.
Good hot breakfast .
Nice cocktails however no cocktail menu.
No low fat spread, yoghurt or soya at breakfast would have liked some bananas.
Cumnock town centre is rather dull.

Lack of definition on the stairs, the carpet pattern makes it difficult to see the single steps

Comfy bed, great shower, lovely stay.
Room 7 has the kitchen extractor outside the window so there was a little droning noise until it closed down.
Can you add privacy film to the bottom window in the bathroom in room 7 please?

staff where fantastic couldnt do enough for you the food was lovely i couldnt do many steps so the gave amazing room no problems i was very surprised when i first arrvied the building well i wasent exspecting much but dont be fooled the hotel is fabulouse 10 stars guys

The meals were excellent, the rooms were comfortable and clean. Plenty TVs to watch the football. The shower will make its way, easily into my illustrious top 3 showers of all time category.
I had a bit of trouble parking my truck that’s really all.

The bar/restaurant was nice, good breakfast. warm
smelt like someone had been smoking in our room. Decor was old/dated, bed sunk into the middle, needed new mattress. was woken up in the middle of the night hearing a fellow resident speaking loudly on the phone. either the walls were thin or they were roaming about the corridor

Breakfast was plentiful and very warm
Checked in at 15:26 for 1 night on 28th November and room was very cold with no heating on and window was open. Complained to reception who promptly sent someone to check my radiators, was told he'd contact a plumber, he came back around 16:,45 to check if heating had came on which it had but as I was booked for my daughters pre wedding dinner at 17:30 with family at Lochside Hotel, I didn't have a shower as my room was too cold so this spoiled the start of our family wedding. One of my other daughters also stayed at the Royal Hotel overnight and she had no issues.

Lift only went up 1st floor (to many steps) for anyone with hip/ leg problems

Breakfast was cooked exactly as I requested 👍🏼Dinner night before was also lovely. Room was really nice. Staff friendly and helpful.
Shower is absolutely dismal. No power whatsoever. Would have expected way better from this hotel chain. Also no way of regulating temperature in the room. First night it was like a sauna. Very uncomfortable sleep. Even with both windows wide open.

The shower was very good and the bed really comfortable. The dining area was pleasant and service very good. Breakfast was very nice as well as choice of breakfast.
The sink in the bathroom was far too low and with a bad back made it painful to wash in.
When going for breakfast we were told it was a continental one, and only when we looked at the breakfast menu did we realise we could have a cooked breakfast as well.
