Close but no cigar.

The hotel was very clean and modern. The bed very comfortable.

A broken flashing spot light in bathroom was very annoying. Didn't notice it till late so couldn't report till morning. Radiator would not turn on so room very cold. Again realised late.

Nice experience would stay again if in the vicinity.

Friendly & helpful staff at front desk & the experience at breakfast great value for money. Had an excellent sleep bed very comfy spacious hotel room.

In all, a pleasant stay in a well appointed local hotel.

Well appointed rooms, still lots of old world charm in the building which mixed well with the beautiful modern presentation in the entrance hall and stairs in particular.

We felt that the staff were somewhat tired and jaded, especially in the restaurant area.

first impressions very nice set up staff great ,but noisy neighbours ruined our stay . hotel like a rabbit warren

the staircase was beautiful and function rooms were lovely and bar areas were nice

one lift which you took you up only one flight . we were on second floor which was difficult as we are both over sixty and to carry suitcase up the stairs was not good . room was on the side next to road so was quite noisy . room 32

Good hotel with lots of original features. Tastefully modernised.

Breakfast was good with a small menu but excellent quality.

The bed was too firm leading to aching hips when sleeping on your side. Pillows lacked support, no additional pillows available in the room.

Hidden gem in Ayrshire

Our stay in this centrally located and beautiful hotel has been fabulous and we look forward to returning on our next vacation. The breakfast is fresh, delicious and made with local products. Especially the haggis is of amazing flavor. The bed is comfortable, if you like a semi-firm bed. The staff is friendly and helpful. The stay during the week is cheaper.

Very good

Room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Bathroom was spotless and very well laid out, shower was large. Food in the restaurant is fabulous.

Bed was a bit uncomfortable as it was 2 singles joined and there was a very noticeable join.

Had they addressed issues positivly, taken responsibility we would have been happy

Sparse in choice of cereals, no fruit or yoghurt and little choice of hot breakfast.

We moved room three times via an upgrade we paid for. Two lights did not work in bathroom, so quite dark, light in hallway flickered constantly, dust on glass bathroom shelves, couldn't turn television off in one room and scalding hot shower because the thermostat was broken. This is very dangerous. Reported to reception who said lots of guests complain and there is a 'art' to it. Not good enough. Apology given when pressed.

Very pleasant stay and friendly hotel. Would stay here again.

Nice hotel and the staff very friendly, the food was lovely and well presented.

The waitress on our first breakfast was not very welcoming.

Welcoming restaurant and hotel. Really enjoyable stay in East Ayrshire. :)

All the staff were really friendly; from the moment we arrived, including the waitress seating us for lunch. The Sunday lunch was really tasty and a great sized portion. Comfortable room and good shower. Excellent breakfast.

A wee bit more gravy on the Sunday roast would have topped things off!

We stayed to visit some local areas therefore it was in a great location and suitable for one night.

Breakfast was nice. Good selection for children too.

Family room was just a large double. A bit tight for 4.

A lovely hotel, very friendly reception and bar staff.

A couple of staff at beakfast time staff could have been a bit more friendly and smile however the rest of the staff were fantastic. Overall great stay and will be back again.

A good old Scottish Hotel

A nice clean hotel. With lovely Scottish charm. Lots of beautiful surrounding countryside yet based in a lovely friendly village. Delicious dinner and breakfast with great choice of local produce food. Good bar with good choice of drinks and whiskey.

Room small with only a hard backed chair. Not the superior room we were expecting. The television and phone not working, the television was fixed after asking twice. Phone not fixed.

Lovely hotel. Clean and tidy.

The room was lovely but the base of the bed was all ripped. As it was in the centre of the room you couldn't help but look at it. Brought down the standard of the room.

Fabulous stay.

Freshly cooked breakfast , friendly reception staff, hotel was lovely inside, food was good .the pillows were good.Free parking.

The room doors are a bit noisy at night as they close.
