it was so nice. we loved the landscape and waking up to the horses grazing was amazing

The cabin was like expected, the service and cleanliness was not.
The cabin wasn't very clean when we arrived. There was a lot of dust and we found mold in the coffee machine. The host was also very grumpy and not helpful when we arrived. It took a long time to get access to the cabin and overall we didn't feel very welcome at all.

Well situated, well equipped, and comfortable accommodation. We had a great stay!

cosy, great location, great so see northern lights if you're lucky, well equipped and comfy beds, easy check in
it wasn't very clean when we arrived and we got an e-mail before our arrival that we are responsible for cleaning the little house thoroughly after our departure, we felt like that could have been communicated beforehand

Super easy check in/out, great contact with the owner in case of questions, amazing and safe location. We stayed there for two nights and really enjoyed our stay close to the nature. The town of Hofn and the Vestrahorn mountain + Stokksnes beach are quite close so it was a very good spot to move around from.

amazing place in the middle of nowhere, with great windows. Nice and warm at arrival :)
The couch is really not nice, keeps falling apart.

good location to see northern lights when good weather

Cottage is cozy and it seems to be perfect to watch aurora.
We needed to call and wait for check-in details, because apparently someone forgot about our reservation, even though we provided CC detail day before, so it wasn't last minute booking. There was very cold inside, however fortunately it warm up fast. The booking fee does not include cleaning, hence the owner requires to do everything! Cleaning description attached - I recommend to read it before booking.

nice remote location, good for northern lights
they don’t tell you that you have to clean the place at the end of your stay until it’s already too late to cancel. You only find out how ridiculous the cleaning rules are (e.g. cleaning the windows) upon your arrival at the place. There’s no professional cleaning (or even a thorough check) in between guests and it really shows. We found old coffee in the coffee machine and rancid butter in the fridge and the whole place didn’t compare to any of the other places we have been to in Iceland in terms of overall cleanliness.
At the very least they should inform you about these “rules” at the time of your booking so you can still decide if this place is worth the money and hassle. I would definitely say it’s not!

Great remote location to watch the northern lights! Everything needed was there.
Since each traveller is asked to clean the property, you can be unlucky to find the place not as clean as you would like to. The toilet wasn’t cleaned properly, the rest was fine.
5.0
kitchen nd view was nice
the fact that they show price “without cleaning fee” and you have to clean yourself or they will chargu you extra 60€ that is basically a scam

Great location, the house is a nice size.
No effort at all decorating the place. No pictures on the walls, no lamps by the beds. Zero effort has been made to make the house welcoming.

location
Apparently no frequent cleaning takes place there. as they ask the tenants to take everything outside so they are not charged cleaning fees. therefore the bed bug we found
7.0
the view was beautiful and it had everything we needed.
the instructions for cleaning it were quite tedious and unlike any unit I’d been to prior. usually it’s polite to leave the place tidy, but this place asked us to clean and dry sinks, vacuum the whole unit, etc. or we would pay a $60 cleaning fee. this means that no one is cleaning the units between parties except the last party, which is a little worrying during COVID.

The cabin with huge windows perfect for watching northern lights
There was no hair dryer unfortunately.

The cottage is amazing and very big, there is a small balcony area outside too where you can sit
I didn't like the fact that you have to literally clean the entire building (sinks must not have a single drop of water, all the floor sweeped, windows cleaned, and I can continue...) otherwise you get threatened with a 60e cleaning fee. This was very absurd and we saw it only once we arrived, no pre-warnings and had to waste about extra 30m in the morning to make sure it looks alright... We didn't even make any mess but the fact that the 60e fine hovers over your head was just ugly...

Weak communication with owner. Owner did not share access code in advance and was unavailable for more than 1 hour during check in time.
7.0
The amenities and the private rooms.
Too much “do it yourself” work. Had to make beds upon arrival. Had to perform 100% cleaning upon departure; including cleaning the toilet, mopping the floors and removing trash from the premises.

Views, terrace, location and horses nearby
You are not informed about the cleaning needed to be done before you leave, or you are charged 60€ for it. First time it is mentioned is just after the reservation is done, about what to do with duvets and garbage, but the info about doing the detailed cleaning you find on instructions in the room which I find not fair. You are basically preparing the cottage for another guests, or they charge you for it. We have encountered this cottage dirty. I always leave apartment as it was when I enter, with dishes cleaned, all left nicely but cleaning toilets when you are not given gloves or enough cleaning materials would be fine, host rules are host rules, but it would be fair if we knew about this before making a reservation.

Great view
We have make our own bed and clean the house.

We liked the location and the quiet surroundings.
It could have been cleaner. The vacuum cleaner didn't work, which made the cleaning a bit harder.
9.0
The location, the view
The cabin wasn't really clean

Very cosy, nice view due to big windows. There were reindeers outside :) no other people around so pretty relaxed!
