A beautiful place to stay - full of character- great staff and owner and gorgeous breakfast.

This was a beautiful place to stay - it felt like home away from home. The breakfast is amazing and the staff and owner are so so helpful. The owner spent a few hours organising an internal flight for us and taxi. The hotel went above and beyond customer service.

Exceptional

Beautiful location (both buildings and gardens) and our rooms were wonderful. Loved having a bathtub and the commitment to zero plastic. Thoughtful touches such as mosquito coils and books to read. Breakfast was amazing and plentiful. Homemade touches such as Shan noodles and banana bread. Dragonfruits grown on the property

Lovely, cute stay

We loved our stay here. Unfortunately we only stayed one night as we had a trek booked for the next day. The place is so quaint and very homely. Fantastic value for money! The breakfast was huge. Would definitely come back here!

Lovely stay

Breakfast was filling and delicious. Charming classic b&b with a beautiful garden. Nice efforts to reduce plastic waste. Kind staff. We liked to see it was dog friendly too. We enjoyed our short stay.

Relaxing escape to nature.

The breakfast was exceptional! Location is beautiful and walking distance to downtown. The staff is helpful and always smiling. Although dining is outside the surrounding area is beautiful and full of nature.

Shower is not separated from the rest of the bathroom leading to a wet floor after showering (no fun to use the toilet with a wet floor). This is common in Myanmar and not too big of an issue.

Wonderful place, staff and ethic showing exemplary ways preserve Kalaw and environment

All was perfect and above expectations even: the welcoming delicate and beautiful garden, the hospitality and high professionalism of the owner and the staff, the warmhearted and clean atmosphere of the overall home and rooms, the fine and beautiful interior design and boutique area, the delicious home-made food and especially tasty shan noodles and pancakes proposed at breakfast, the pioneering and multiple messages and actions guiding the guests toward a environmentally friendly way to travel and respect Kalaw resources (bottle refill station at ground flour, respectful tourim posters and books, limited use of plastic, recommendation of sutainable behaviours such as not overconsuming food, etc.). More than a charming accomodation, this is a peaceful and harmonious way to enjoy Kalaw's beauty while trying and showing how to adopt eco-friendly travel ways. Congrats for all.

Nothing all was at its best! The only point is that food displayed is so delicious that we would have loved to enjoy it even later after 4pm.

A charming spot set among lofty trees with lovely staff, a delicious breakfast and comfy beds.

The beautiful setting among the trees, the convenient location and the delicious breakfast were particular highlights. The beds were also really comfortable and the man who greeted us on reception was so friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us loads of great recommendations. The traditional Shan coffee on arrival was also really welcome!

A small point but we were there in January and the room in the morning was very cold (even by British standards), with no obvious way to heat it up. A small fan heater or portable radiator would have been really welcome (there was a normal fan but no equivalent for chilly weather!)

The breakfast was excellent and the view there very pretty.

We arrived after 2 days of rain and probably due to this our room was quite smelly. It seems this was not an issue for rooms in another building.

The Best Accommodation in Myanmar

The people who work here are super kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean and it honestly felt like I booked myself into a spa for 2 days because this was by far the best and most comfortable accommodation I've stayed in in Myanmar. If I had known how wonderful Hillock Villa and Kalaw would be, I would've changed my itinerary a bit. The breakfast was AMAZING- if you don't try the shan style noodles, you will miss out. Don't even think twice about booking a room at this place...just do it-you won't be sorry! :) I left Kalaw with a huge smile on my face!

Absolutely nothing. I liked everything about this place.
