Very pleasant rural setting and rooms very comfortable. Never seen so many dogs, all well behaved I might add.
Breakfast was 8.30 to 9.30 but very slow service with half an hour wait for food. Didn’t understand if you know you have 50 guests to serve in that stipulated time the maybe earlier start for chef. I may add that the food was excellent when it turned up.

Friendly staff, very helpful, nice room. Good breakfast choice. Couldn't ask for more and very good price too
Greater choice of food on the evening menu.
Food on offer was good however.

Lovely, big suite (room 1) with amazing two-person bath & separate large shower. A comfortable, homely, proper old country inn, with lovely bar area & good atmos. Staff were welcoming & worked hard.
* On a very cold day, we arrived to a room with no heating switched on, which marred our first impression. Nice young chap brought an oil-filled radiator & said he’d ‘boost the system’, which he did. Awoke the next morning (again, near freezing temperatures) to no heating once more. Took a while until it was remedied.
* Dining was hit & miss. Goats’ cheese parcels poor for a whopping £9; husband’s batter on fish was over cooked, hard & virtually inedible (for £19 for fish & chips it should have been exceptional); my steak, though tender & tasty, was served medium when I asked for rare.
Some mistakes on the breakfast orders.

The bed was comfortable and it was quiet at night
The water pressure in the shower was the worst I’ve ever seen, and when somebody else staying was also using the shower it basically turned to a trickle. The heating wasn’t working so we’d been given an electric heater to use, which meant that the room and bathroom were very cold when we arrived. The menu in the pub was extremely limited - we’d checked out the sample menu online beforehand and partly made our choice based on the food as we knew there was no other possibilities around, but you basically had the choice of fish and chips, steak or pizza.

It’s in a good location.
We were very much looking forward to our stay here and especially the food as it had such good reviews.
We had been told that they had a big function on that night and they booked us a table for dinner at 6:30pm to make sure we were able to eat. We had been booked into an outside cottage which was great to keep us away from any noise but unfortunately when we arrived at 4:30pm our room was very cold. We waited till about 5:30pm to see if any heating would come on but it didn’t. We went over to reception to ask about this and were assured that it would be on shortly! Unfortunately it didn’t come on at all and by that time we were frozen!
We went back to the main hotel for dinner hoping it would be ok by the time we had finished, only to find that the menu for the night was extremely limited. This was very disappointing and we hadn’t been told this would happen.
We also met other guests who were in the room next to ours who had arrived before us and they had complained about the lack of heating three times and nothing had been done.
The staff throughout this were very polite but couldn’t move us to another room as the hotel was full!
Unfortunately we’d had enough by then so decided to leave and had a two hour journey home and so missed out on the last evening and day of our short break.

Nice bar area. Bed was comfortable.
Stayed in room no. 2, got locked in, couldn't phone reception as there was no signal, managed to alert our friends by shouting and banging on the door, they notified staff, who then came and let us out. Same thing happened in the morning, almost missed breakfast. Very scary as, if there had been a fire, we wouldn't have been able to escape.
We were told when we arrived, that there was a disco/private party going on later, and that we should have had an email notifying us, as it was going on till midnight. Received no email at all.
Also looking on the website, there was a full evening menu being served but a different one when we got there, which was somewhat reduced.
Very disappointed, as I booked this as a belated birthday present for my husband.
My husband complained again just before we left, about the fact that we had got locked in the room twice, as we thought this should have been dealt with straight away, and left his contact details but still waiting 4 days later for them to get in touch.
Not good!

Room was lovely and warm upon arrival. Gorgeous bathroom with massive bath and plenty of hot water. Very comfortable king size bed. Friendly, welcoming staff.
The addition of a full-length mirror would be great. Also a mini fridge in room would make it perfect.

Staff were superb and let us drink as long as we wanted. Last in the bar.
Was cold in the breakfast room in the morning.

Excellent food, good menu choices and decent portion sizes. Room and ensuite were immaculately clean.
The radiators needed bleeding as both of ours and the rad in the hall outside our room only had heat at the bottom of the radiator....bleeding the trapped air out would have solved the problem. However, when we broached the subject of, perhaps, having someone call to our room with a radiator key to solve the problem we were sent away with a flea in our ear.

Nice building and location. Clean, renovated rooms. Good breakfast.
Very noisy rooms - no soundproofing and you could easily hear your neighbours talking and the squeaky stairs. Need lights in car park for at night.

Ground floor room in cottage next to main building was fantastic with patio doors at rear to private garden. Service and food good. Short drive to centre where plenty of walking routes start.
Sunday night menu had limited choice for us, but what we had was delicious.

The breakfast was a little small but overall ok.
The lock on our door was faulty and we got locked in our room, we tried to call the hotel to let them know we where locked in but there was no answer, luckily we had friends staying in another room so the alerted someone to let us out.

Nice small comfortable room. Coffee making facilities. Great breakfast but had an issue with the chef for evening meals. So had a limited menu.
Location good for seeing the local area. Ludlow, Tenbury wells, etc
Glass of wine and a pint £12.00. so be prepared.. other than that all ok.

Good quality room at reasonable price meal and breakfast were very good, staff were excellent,
Only issue we had is no mobile signal within the pub/rooms, which made contacting my mother in law in a different part of the hotel difficult

The service on the morning of our check out was exceptional. The lady doing the breakfast could not have been more helpful. Room was large and clean.
The service provided from some of the staff could be improved as they lacked attention to detail. However, the staff were always friendly and this place is really geared towards locals. Please judge my comments from the point of view of someone who often stays in 5 star hotels and do not let my comments distract from the genuine friendliness of the staff.

Location great, assuming you have a car. Nice, modern rooms.
Could have had more of a continental breakfast option, with fruit etc.

Location was good as close to the wedding venue we were attending. Rooms were clean.
Staff weren't very accommodating from the start to finish. Pretty much all rooms booked out for the wedding but no rooms could be checked in early (before 4pm) to get ready for the wedding. Then both the restaurant or bar wouldn't open knowing there were 20 or so guests staying. When returning after the wedding, my key snapped in the key lock. No one available at the reception (which I understand as after midnight). But then it gives you 3 mobile numbers to call out of hours. None of them answered the call after multiple attempts to call. Walls to rooms are super thin and you can hear movement and conversations all around from other rooms.

Lovely old pub in a great location, not far from Kidderminster & Ludlow. Plenty of parking outside. Staff are lovely. The food was good. The whole pub is spotless, which is what you can expect from one of the bastings hotels. We normally stay at The Rodney which is another pub under their management, but this was a nice change. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel is old and our room had sloping ceilings at the side of the bed which my husband bumped his head on. Also, the foam mattress didn't offer much support, so not ideal for someone with a back problem - might be ok for some, just not us - next time I will ask in advance.

very very friendly ,polite and helpful staff
finish of room left much to be desired. tv aerial cable was put through wall and exposed.from what i can tell hole for cable was made using a sharp object and not with a drill.exposed hole was not even filled after cable was put through. had a full size kettle which was nice but wont fit under basin to fill water with ? side of bed collapsed in our last night. suspect screws used to secure sides of bed were way too small.mattress was very heavy.luckily i managed to fix issue but could have been very dangerous for maybe an elderly couple.left note for staff when we left very early next morning.believe issue been raised before ????
