Hotel staff was absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to talk to. Always helpful and extremely accommodating in all regards.
Carpets are in dire need of cleaning, as they look like they havent been cleaned in a very long time. A deep cleaning of carpets with a special machine is very much needed. The room was quite cold, heating that is present is not enough to warm up the room.

Room was large and beds were comfortable. Heating was good too.
Location was very good, just a road away from Gare Du Nord.
Chairs were very old, and cushion was spoiled - not comfortable sitting on them as worried it would break at any moment.
Reception was not around in the early morning and no information on where to find them - it was 6am in the morning, and we were unable to get back our deposit and invoice as we had to catch a train and could not find them at all. So beware if you have very early trains to catch

The location
On arrival at 23h30 the room was not prepared. We had to wait 30 minutes.
The hotel is pretty much run down and not clean.

Room was ok though a little shabby. Nice to have the balcony though it made the room noisier. Location was within walking distance of Montmartre. Close to the station.
Bathroom was very tight but everything worked.
Had to ask for towels for two people not one.
No lounge, photos somewhat deceiving.

Convenient location, friendly staff, lovely real cafe au lait for breakfast
3 serious issues about our room (no.12): 1. bedbugs- I experienced itching in middle of night and awoke with bites around my waist and ankles; on our return to UK, I found about 30 bites on my body and my sister found 2 bedbugs on her sheets. 2. dangerous electric socket- the bedroom socket was loose and pulled out of the wall with wires exposed; only one socket is not enough nowadays for a couple who wish to charge up their devices. 3. bathroom fittings- very loose basin tap, temperamental shower controls, no shower curtain. Plus overall the room needs refurbishing- faded stained carpet, peeling or missing paint on walls, dirty cupboard, squeaky window (we had to open it due to no air-con), mess of litter and cigarette ends visible outside in lightwell. Finally a dirty sheet and towel (black marks probably from laundry service)

Compared to other prices in Paris the price was decent and reasonable.
The professional reception staff
The cleaning was done only on the surface, there were traces of poo in the toilet, hair in the sink and in the bathtub, the towels had traces of blood.
I asked for an extra blanket and pillow on the first day. I was told that we would receive them, but they never brought them
