Beautiful Island, great beach, fantastic house reef, food is plentiful and good.
Poor communication with Guests, very expensive tours (more expensive than from Labuan bajo being 1/3 of the way), could keep the beach cleaner with a simple effort once a day!

The island is a paradise and the hotel makes the best out of the circumstances (there is no fresh water in the island, the hotel has to make it!). The coral reef is stunning, one of the best in the park, the rooms are spacious and clean, the food is good, staff is so nice and competent. if you want to relax, snorkel, dive and enjoy the nature this is the best place in Komodo. I read some comments and I think people do not understand what it takes to provide services in a secluded island, for example the person that does not understand how tides work and thinks that the beach is not accessible, or the request for a pool….there are many big resorts in other parts of Indonesia.
I would go back tomorrow but I worry I could not afford it if the property plans to transform this unique place into a luxury resort for people that just want to show off about being in a “private”paradise island and not enjoy the nature and the sea.

Amazing house reef, amazing diving.

The place is just paradise! Amazing island with an amazing coral reef just in front of the resort. I wish we could have stayed more days.
The staff is great.
Nothing, it was perfect!
6.0
- proximity to National Park is invaluable; hassle-free trips to see the dragons, snorkel etc
- superb house reef - diverse and healthy corals, turtles, cuttlefish, and black tip sharks alongside a plethora of colourful reef fish. You see different sea life every time.
- most of the staff are wonderfully hospitable and helpful; always cheerful
- designated sun loungers per room
- unlimited safe drinking water provided
- some nice food, especially on occasions when ala carte offered
- great massage available (if you like strong pressure)
- bed and pillows comfortable, proper mosquito net
- evening turndown service
- very few mosquitos/biting bugs
- limited lights around the property at night makes for amazing stargazing
- no notification that the gym would be shut during our stay
- asked months in advance for quietest rooms; got the 2 loudest! Ours was next to a hut construction site which was disturbingly loud from 730am (alongside 6am noise from scuba boat preparations). Our sons' room was directly next to kitchen, diving prep area and staff break area. We were denied any room change during our 6-night stay. We did get free massages as recompense. . .
- no hot water our first 2 days; intermittent thereafter
Less serious downsides:
- bungalow & furnishings quite run down/tired
- food/buffet inconsistent quality - some really delicious, some poor. Numerous items on wine and cocktail menu not available - best to ask in advance before selecting.
- the path for staff runs behind the bungalows and can be quite noisy (and odd to see lots of human shadows passing by through the shower's opaque window)
- for the luxury price, should include use of snorkelling kit and basic park fee
- several house cats roaming around, so few geckos and other small land creatures to spot :-(. They can be annoyance at mealtimes: both my husband and one of my sons were scratched by the cats without provocation. We saw other guests similarly being pestered. I suppose they will help keep potential rodent issues in check . . .
- there did not seem to be a person in overall charge of the place onsite. The staff did well to coordinate things, although we did wait over an hour for our food one evening when it was ala carte rather than buffet.

My family of 3 spent 8 days here to visit the Komodo National Park islands and scuba dive the area. The location of this resort is superb...on a private island closer to the national park than any other resort so park visits and diving were close and convenient. The dive staff were fantastic and I would like to acknowledge Michael and Julia in particular for ensuring our dives were all fantastic. The house reef in front of the resort is one of the best I have seen...great for snorkelling. Our 2br beach bungalow was very spacious and comfortable...air con worked surprisingly well, and no real issue with creepy crawlies getting into the room🙂 The food was pretty good overall and the staff...especially the 2 gentlemen in the restaurant who were always smiling and helpful. Staying here was a fabulous experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to dive and explore Komodo NP.
If I have to pick something I would say it would be wonderful to have a swimming pool as the days are very hot!

The resort is beautiful and very peaceful with an amazing reef right off the beach. We did our advanced PADI certification and loved the diving and the tuition from Mikael. The food was great and the staff were so attentive. The bartender was also fantastic and we loved the cocktails! Thanks for a lovely start to our honeymoon!

This is an amazing resort. It is really beautiful & you have a lot of space and a breathtaking house riff. The staff & the guest are very friendly, helpful and great to talk to.
The diving sites are amazing as well as the organisation of the dives and tours. They always tried to help you.
We were really lucky with our room, because we didn't have any construction side near us & didn't hear a thing.
The are starting to build new huts between remaining huts, so they can have more guests. They build them really close, so you don't have so much space anymore and it is gonna be more crowded. :(

The hotel is located in a spectacular area, with awesome views, and is very comfortable. It is very easy to get from there to different activities and dives in the area.
The staff is super friendly and every day with a smile to give. All activities such as diving and the trip to the different islands are very organized and punctual.
The menu is varied, good, and fresh.
Anti-mosquito sprays on the pillows.
They should have some snacks in the afternoon.

The resort is on a beautiful island with clear waters and a fantastic local reef. The diving and snorkeling is spectacular - all within 10-40 mins away by boat. This was our second visit as we enjoyed it so much 3 years ago. The boats to the diving are well equipped. All meals are inclusive. The staff at the restaurant were super friendly.
If you dont dive or snorkel there is little else to do. Not a big deal but we were charged for a few things we didnt realise were not included (ie coffee at lunch). Check out is at 11am, but there is no shower available outside of the rooms, so if you want to spend the afternoon swimming before leaving on a long flight there are no facilities for that. The wifi is poor. The resort is under new management since Feb 23 - perhaps they are now targeting large groups rather than families etc as for the entire time we were there, we shared the resort with a party of 38.

Komodo Resort is paradise and we absolutely loved our time there. We can't wait to go back! The island is gorgeous and has so much to offer, including an amazing house reef just steps away from your room. The snorkeling is truly the best in the world. The rooms were well appointed and included a comfortable bed, pillows, linens, etc. The view from the room was breathtaking with your own little slice of beachfront heaven. We loved that we had our own patio where we could relax and read a book. We very much enjoyed the wonderful meals- the chef and restaurant staff are excellent and there are many options on the menu from traditional american breakfast, to salads and burgers for lunch to italian and indonesian for dinner. There is also a very well outfitted gym with a treadmill, elliptical, weights, etc. The resort also seems to take safety quite seriously which we very much appreciated given the remoteness of the island.
We really loved most everything about Komodo and would return in a heartbeat. A few items to mention, however -- this resort mostly caters to divers. If you are a non-diver you may feel a bit slighted by the lack of communication regarding expeditions. We had to frequently inquire regarding boat activities. Also, twice when we showed up for our scheduled massages, the therapist was busy with walk-in clients-- overall, communication between staff and customers at the resort could be better. Second, the two person kayak is not in good condition and I do not recommend taking it out very far as it fills with water. Lastly, request a villa as far down at either end of the resort as possible as it reduces the number of other guests that will be walking in front of your room throughout the day. Oh, and music in the dining hall for dinner would be a really nice touch.

Unbeatable location and well maintained property
It’s a dive hotel, so if you’re not a diver you might get bored

Staff, location, dives,… what’s not to like!?
I could not stay longer!!

Exterior is perfect, rooms are also good.
Food and restaurant overall are not adequate the prices and the level of resort.
The internet never works in the room. In the restaurant it works but so bad that it is better that it wouldn’t work at all. In general, I would say it is not true that they have internet.

Breakfast was good. Since we were the only family on the island, we could get BF anywhere we wanted😬. Location is an island 30 mins by speed boat from Labuan bajo.
Sand flies they are killers.

Everything really.
The island is ideally situated in the heart of Komodo National Park at a short distance of many amazing dive and snorkeling sites.
The staff is awesome, all of them. Just awesome.
Diving is great (unless you have the displeasure of diving with one of those nasty tourists who is prepared to wreck entire square meters of coral for the sake of the perfect photo... We had one of those on a few dives unfortunately).
We did a night dive on the first day and liked it so much that we asked for a night dive on every single night of our stay. One of the divemasters is a specialist and seemed to enjoy the experience as much as we did, which was great.
The food is very good and plentiful, to say the least, with a wide choice of Asian and European dishes.
The spa offers very good and surprisingly cheap massages.
The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and super clean.
The diving equipment was a tad run down, with some o-rings leaking and a couple of faulty torches (we had our own kit so could not test the rest of the kit).
The booking process is a bit tedious and misleading: first your booking is not confirmed just by going through the booking.com transaction, you will be contacted by the resort staff to make the actual reservation via email, pay a deposit (which will not be totally refunded in case of cancellation despite the "free cancellation" claim on booking.com), then later pay the full amount. None of the transactions go through booking.com or use your registered credit card. It is not a big deal and quite understandable for such a resort but I was at first taken aback by the whole process.

Beautiful resort, amazing view, very nice staff, food is excellent. We had an amazing relaxing stay. The reef in front of the resort is well preserved and full of fishes. Will definitely go back.
Might be more suitable for divers. Non-diving excursions are organized on a demand-basis so if not enough demand for a specific excursion, you can't go. We stayed 3 nights/4 days in the resort and we wanted to visit Padar and Pink Beach but no other guests were interested so we couldn't go (unless you are okay to pay the price for 4 guests).
Excursions and activities are quite expensive so just be aware of it but it is worth it.
