Bra frukost!

The staff was amazing. Great breakfast.
My rooms were small, but fit my needs very well. (I stayed in 2 different rooms since I decided to stay longer.) The proximity to the train station and many restaurants/shops is perfect for walking. There is even a laundromat near-by. The area might look a little sketchy at night to someone from the US, but it's not. I was very safe, even late at night. If I get to come back to Amsterdam, I would like to stay here again.
Don't take a taxi anywhere unless you absolutely cannot avoid it.
There was no bathmat for the floor, at least not in my second room. I don't recall in the first.

Location is excellent. Walkable from central station. Breakfast was decent although same everyday. If you are staying for multiple days you will be bored.
The front desk guy when doing check in in the evening was not at all friendly. The hotel has weird policy to deposit your room access card when you go out of room. Sounded like he wanted to make sure people didn't keep lights on. I forgot my card in room and he was very rude and upset on me since he has to issue me a new card. The guy who was at front desk in the morning was friendly and helpful.
Room had no ac and room was hot when we got in the room. I wish for the money they charge they will include toiletries like toothpaste, shampoo. The room feels little dated and carpet is old.
The bathtub had a yellow stain on it which was disgusting. There wasn't a proper shower door/curtain to control water going on floor. It felt they wanted to save money by just covering half of the shower.

Location was great, very near Centraal.
Run down accommodation, not at all accessible for mobility impaired, tiny room, no ventilation and no ac (not the hotel's fault that it was hot during my stay)

excellent breakfast
the narrow and very steep stairs right inside room door are dangerous, This is the only thing I don't like about this hotel.

Location is superb, just across from central station. Breakfast was delicious and fresh and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of hot water and fresh towels every day.
Nothing at all!

The location was excellent and the breakfast was great.
1) Very bad reservation service:
I made a reservation for 2 adults+2 kids for 5 nights, that would cost 1100euros. I was told the cost of our stay (me, my husband and two kids, 10 and 13 years old) when I made our reservation, 3 months earlier. The same day of our trip I received a message of the hotel saying that I had not specified how old my kids were (I had not noticed this before). When I replied saying they were 10 and 13 years old, they replied again saying that our stay will cost 500 euros more, so would be 1600euros. I protested but their attitude was "take it or leave it". As you can imagine, this unexpected raise affected our buget to enjoy other things. Our trip started with a very bitter taste.
2) The hotel is very old and decorated in bad taste inside. Too old fashion. It was not pleasant to be there. Visually it was unpleasant, depressing.
3) The services provided were very basic. It is definitely not a 3-star hotel. How is it possible that in a room plenty of space, in a hotel charging us 1600euros for 5 nights, there was not a simple boiler an a cup to make a tea or coffee when you return at night? We had to pay fora simple cup of tea asking it in the kitchen of the hotel because there was not a clear place tor ask for that. So, there was not clarity about these simple but important things.
4) The bed was not comfortable. When I felt cold one night I looked for something to put on to feel warmer, and I realized that the closets were empty. What a bad planned service, again.
5) The shower was very uncomfortable, difficult to put in the right temperature. The "shower door" was so small and bad installed that after to take a shower all the floor, outside the shower ended up all wet, so we had to put towels on the floor. Very umcofortable.
6) Bad quality towels
7) Bad ventilation system in the bedroom
8) Old tv set. It was not possible to use our Netflix account there (we ended up watching films in our cel phones)

Great location, good breakfast, clean rooms.
Several steep stairs to the "apartment" we lived in.

Super convenient location near Amsterdam Centraal station. I was given a room that required going down a very narrow set of stairs, which was challenging given my luggage. If you are planning to stay at this hotel and have accessibility requirements, don't forget to let the front desk know so you can avoid this type of room! Breakfast had limited options, but it was sufficient.

What went well: breakfast was satisfactory. We ate dinner at the restaurant that serves the breakfast and it was more than satisfactory.
We should have had more disclosure about the hotel. Its location adjacent to the Centraal Station which I thought would be ideal for our purposes, turned out to be a negative because of young people's NOISE!!! The physical layout of the hotel was extremely difficult for our party (two elderly couples, one member of our party is legally blind and we carried heavy luggage from five weeks of travel preceding our stay); see the picture below of the entrance to our room. Luckily the couple, one of whom is has severely limited vision got a room-change to a ramp-accessible room versus ours which was accessible only by stars––down. Seven steep stairs down to get to the room, which should be disclosed to prospective guests beforehand. Had we known we wouldn't have chosen this hotel. Also, the noise level from the street below (we were two floors above a connecting alley) never, and I mean through out the night, never let up. Result: members of our party got no sleep that night, prior to long flights home. What was charged, €191 for the night, was ridiculously high for what we got.

The hotel spreads out over 4 houses which made it spacious and quirky.
As everyone else mentioned: the location is absolutely perfect! You step out of the hotel and you're right in the action.
The restaurant and bar were lovely with a real, authentic Amsterdam feel to them.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was very big and comfortable.
I asked for gluten free bread with our breakfast and each morning the staff baked off some lovely rolls.
We had a room at the front so we had a great view.
No complaints.

The location was perfect for us
Our room was on the third floor of the steepest narrowest stairs which was a real struggle with cases. The settee in the bedroom was stained and the room generally could do with updating
