Located in Topsail Beach, this attractive cottage for R 6,098 per night is a great option for your next break. Your family-friendly, pet-friendly vacation dream spot….SoundSide Haven...booking now for the 2022 season! Please be aware that bookings DURING THE SEASON (usually June, July & August) are weekly from SUNDAY to SUNDAY. Off season you can request any dates, with a 3-night minimum. Cottage accommodates 6-7 comfortably. A block and half walk to the beach, the house is tucked away on a secluded drive making it private and quiet. It has an open floor plan for dining, relaxing, and socializing. Features a large covered sound-side porch with new taller Adirondacks chairs and a picnic table for spectacular sunsets or just chilling while watching the activities on the sound. The porch has a gate to secure area for children and pets. Other amenities include enclosed hot/cold outside shower, washer and dryer, a personal pier for fishing, docking your boat/jet ski or just sun-bathing. SOUNDSIDE HAVEN is a well behaved pet friendly rental... out of necessity there is a PET FEE of $150 per week for one pet and $235 for two pets. Please ask first if you have any questions about this! Also if your plans change at the last minute and you decide to bring a pet just let us know, or if you decide not to after you've paid the pet fee, again let us know and we will adjust your account accordingly! *** We ask that pets NOT be on the furniture or beds unless you've brought a large blanket to totally cover any area they will lay on. This is asked out of respect for our home AND respect for your fellow cottage guests. *** Wet dogs can stay on the enclosed porch to dry, not in the cottage. *** We ask that you take your pets over to the large pinestraw-ed area to relief themselves, NOT ON THE GRASS. The urine kills the grass and takes weeks to recover. As you'll see we spend a lot of time and money on our landscaping and ask for your respect concerning that. SOUNDSIDE HAVEN does NOT include bathroom towels / washcloths or sheets for the beds. You may bring your own or use a linen rental service for your linen and beach equipment needs. Some will even make up the beds for you! For those interested, area rental establishments provide rental equipment such as kayaks, jet skis, bicycles, etc. Conveniently, some even deliver to and pick up from the residence. The Jolly Roger ocean pier is the perfect spot for ocean fishing. Near-by gift shops, putt putt and a skating rink offer family entertainment as well as the Missiles and More Museum just steps away. Summer concerts are held periodically and are free to the public. A popular coffee shop, The Quarter Moon Books and Gifts, offers a wine bar, evening musical performances by local artists and book signing events. Just around the corner is a public playground for small children to enjoy. In addition, Wilmington is nearby with its own host of coastal activities, including the notorious North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and the USS North Carolina WWII Battleship. Take a family field trip to the famous Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue & Rehabilitation Center located just off the island in Surf City. We really enjoyed our stay at SoundSide Haven! A lovely house in a great location. Our family enjoyed fishing off the pier and sitting on the deck enjoying the views of the sound! The house was very clean, had everything as advertised, and Edna was very helpful. Highly recommend!

This was our first time staying in the sound side , it really peaceful this house is just a short walk to a public beach access and super close to Jolly Roger pier. OHH and Don said this place has the best view of the sun set and he wasn’t kidding !

Our family stayed here for a week in August. The location was great, house was well set up and stocked. Walking distance to town, the beach and the dock out the back was perfect. Great communication. We'll definitely stay here again!

This is a very cozy, lovingly kept house that became our home for two rejuvenating, fun, beauty-filled weeks. It has a charming ‘beach-retro” feel and was just perfect for us: right on the sound with it’s stunning sunsets, long pier, and easy access for our kayaks — and yet only a short 2 block walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach. The property owner/manager is highly responsive and charming. There are small locally-owned businesses nearby (e.g., fresh seafood market & food truck, a deli, a coffee/wine bar with live music nearly every night, 2 restaurants, an honestly some of the best ice cream we’ve had anywhere! — all within walking distance of the house), Plus, it’s an easy 10 - 15 minute drive up the beach to various other restaurants and stores. Thank you Edna for a lovely time. We’ll be back!

The house is beautifully set on the sound with a sandy beach and pier perfect for swimming and fishing. My teens were able to walk to play putt putt and to the arcade and also to get ice cream safely. Perfect vacation property!!

This cozy cottage within walking distance to town was the perfect place for us to get away for a few days to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets, fishing off the dock, and nice dinners on the deck. It’s been so nicely updated and has everything one needs to make a very comfortable vacation. Edna is so easy to work with and communication was always easy. All around a perfect stay!!!

The home is very comfortable - open kitchen/dining/living with great views. The bedrooms and bathrooms are good sized. The porch and the dock make enjoying the sound easy! And it's a very short walk to the beach. Plus you can walk to shops/restaurants and the pier. I plan to come back!

We loved this cozy cottage on the sound. The beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, and the location was ideal—two blocks from beach access, and a short walk to Quarter Moon Books and wine bar. We spent much time on the porch, with beautiful views of the sound. The owner responded immediately to questions—highly recommend!

This property has everything. It was clean, comfortable, and cute! The views were AMAZING. We were able to dock our small boat to travel over to the sand bar, fish and crab from the dock, relax on the porch, and easily walk to the beach and nearby shops. Off the beaten path, the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet. We even got to see dolphins swimming past the dock. We hope to be able to stay again next summer.

Although the weather was not the greatest.. we still enjoyed our stay at this quant cottage. Centrally located, enjoyed having our own boat dock, and it had all the amenities we needed. We definitely would like to rent this again!

We have stayed on this island 9 times in various properties, on the beach or 2nd row. The view at this property was just as good as beachfront. Spent most evenings on back deck watching boats and dolphins go by, Also saw many types of birds . And the beach was easily accessible, just a short walk away.

The property is fine. The weather did not lend itself to being outside, so too much together time in a smaller cottage. There was confusion with our stay. Web site said “ note. This is a Sunday to Sunday stay” I put on my calendar as such, and did not notice the contract came back Saturday to Saturday. Checked in one day late, and rushed out when cleaners showed up.

It was exactly as it was advertised. The property was great and the sunsets were magnificent even with the dredges in the sound. They gave a humm throughout the night that lulled you to sleep. We actually rented it for 3 nights On arrival date! I was mainly l]there to spread some ashes from husband whom I recently lost to cancer. I was with family and friends and we had a great time in the open floor plan and open kitchen cooking and sharing stories.He would have loved it.Thank you Scott for ,a,ing it all come together flawlessly!Terri, Kristi.
