Guest reserving home must be 25 years or older, be staying at the property the entire time and will be considered the responsible party for this booking. Sorry but this is not a pet friendly home, no exceptions. * North Coast Sanctuary is an architectural gem perched on four acres above the Pacific Ocean near the seaside village of Trinidad. An exclusive vacation home for those seeking a peaceful, uniquely tranquil experience where the beauty of art, architecture, and nature nourish the body and soul. The style and craftsmanship of this custom, luxurious, multi-level home is a one of a kind peaceful retreat filled with beautiful art and surrounded by the sights and sounds of the sea. A perfect getaway to restore the mind and body while gathering with family and friends. The interior design combines the elements of wood, glass, and slate in balance & harmony with the natural surroundings of Redwoods and sweeping ocean views. Guests will love relaxing in the hot tub while soaking up the breathtaking ocean views after a day hiking in the Redwoods. Outdoor entertaining galore w/ a propane bbq, horseshoe & fire pit for roasting marshmallows and staying warm while stargazing at night. The spaciousness of this large coastal home on 4 pristine acres offers plenty of room to retreat inside or out! The open, airy concept allows for easy, fun filled gathering. Soak up the ocean views from all 3 luxurious bedroom suites of this estate. Sleep up to 6 adults & 2 kids w/ add'l bunk bed room. Lounge in the upper living room and soak up the heat and ambiance of the gas fireplace while watching tv (extended cable and an active Netflix account for fun viewing). For a quieter place to relax, step down to the lower living room encased by large sliding glass windows, grab a drink from the wet bar and sink into the feeling of being surrounded by the sea. The large, open kitchen is a cook’s dream that includes: a large island with a gas stove & breakfast bar, high quality stainless steel appliances including an Electrolux oven, refrigerator w/ double freezer drawers, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig, French Press and a regular coffee maker for serious coffee drinkers! The shelves are stocked with a wonderful supply of pots & pans, dish & glassware, spices and condiments, local coffee & granola to welcome guests. Each of the deluxe bedrooms w/ King & Queen beds have en-suite baths. Step up a short stairway into the master suite, a romantic sanctuary w/ breathtaking seaside views, a gas fireplace, T.V., private balcony, bathroom w/ a large walk in shower and dual shower heads. Step down a short stairway to the 2nd bedroom, a lovely place to rest & relax with a Queen bed, T.V., desk, bath w/ a deep soaking tub & shower and large sliding glass doors that open onto the deck w/ a hot tub. The 3rd bedroom is located on the South wing of the home, offering privacy, more coastal views, a T.V., built-in desk for guests needing to work while away and a bathroom w/ a beautiful slate stall shower. There is an additional, very small room, best suited for children w/ a set of twin bunk beds for groups of up to 8. The powder room and laundry room are located down a nearby hallway. The expansive lawn, gardens & decks create an outdoor oasis to get immersed in the sights and sounds of the sea. Take a short downhill walk (.3 mile) to Baker Beach, a secluded cove known for it's beauty and also preferred by clothing optional. *Please note this home does have Ring for security purposed only, on the front of the house at the door and one facing the back yard.

I begin with the driveway onto the property, it felt like a secluded area, and the SMELL was wonderfully intoxicating because of all the trees and plants. Being greeted by the water fountain was an excellent greeting, then to see the architecture even more wonderful than the photos can show was a great pleasure, especially since the seascape and landscape could be seen through the back and front windows. Wow! What a fantastic way to enter into a home. Immediately we felt the coziness of this place because of all the decor furniture artwork and comforts of home placed so invitingly. The cleanliness was superb. Thank you for that! Also, thank you for everything being kept up and not one thing being in any way raggedy. One thing that would help with some comfort is an AC, but if not to be, screens on the windows so that we don’t get the little flying bugs. Everything was well stocked. I really felt the luxuriousness of this place with all the fine linens bedding towels robes blankets pillows and throw pillows on the sofas, and the fine furniture bathroom fixtures and sinks and showers and beautiful windows and how they operate. I could keep going, but that gives everything away, experience for yourself, you won’t regret it. Instead you’ll make an excellent memory. We would stay again and again and again . . .

This VRBO has rated a "10" for us - we have never had a vacation rated a 10 yet! I have never seen a more beautiful perfect house on a more perfect spot. I hate t write a review full of words like "gorgeous". "beautiful", "peaceful", etc, etc. We were so sad to leave it. We arrived with perfect weather, sunny and with the view of the islands taking our breath away. And after two days the fog rolled in. All we could think of was Robert Frost's poem "Fog" and how apt it was. It was gorgeous and so calm. We decided to take the day off and just enjoy the beauty of the house. My husband was recovering from surgery so it was perfect for us to have a day of quiet. The house was prepared for us, many interesting books, games to play, hot tub. We lacked for nothing. Only issue was that the kitchen was so incredible that it was difficult to decide if we should work and cook something delicious or if we should just relax and go to one of the wonderful restaurants for seafood. Seafood won! I have no suggestion for anything that might need to be improved on. Improvement at this VRBO would be impossible. Thank you for sharing your incredible home with us!

This house is so interesting and so well designed for living. You can see the ocean from the entire back of the house, and big sliding doors open to the patios, so the breeze can come in all the time. There are several spots around the property that are perfect for sitting and reflecting on the surrounding beauty. The house is very clean and extremely comfortable. The kitchen is a delight - we stayed in for all of our dinners because it was so easy to prepare meals with all of the cookware, utensils, dishes, spices, etc, and we thought it a shame to give up the outstanding setting for an enclosed restaurant! The property manager was easy to work with and quick to respond to our questions. We just loved our entire stay and we didn't want to leave! Thank you for sharing this perfect refuge!

Amazing house with great views. Only thing we did wrong was not booking it for longer. Hot tub under the stars was spectacular. Love the radiant floor heat and the lovely fireplace. Be sure to visit Murphy grocery store just 6 min from the house for great selection of gourmet food and drinks.

This house was a splurge, so lucky to share it with good friends. Thick fog every day from October 4-9, 2022. The thing about fog is it makes you slow down which is a true gift. We stayed 5 nights and ate wonderful meals at the house for four of them and enjoyed Larrupin on our last night.

We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary here! We traveled from Michigan and the arrival flight was conveniently at Humboldt Airport. Short drive to house, grocery store & State/National Parks.
From any location in the house, the views were stunning! Clam beach was better than expected for swimming, beach combing and convenient location (could see beach from house).
Lots of great nooks and sitting areas inside and outside of the house. We had a really great time and this house is rated at the top of our list. We highly recommend it!

What a great place to be for any occasion! Tried to get my girlfriend out of the kitchen (she's a caterer) but she says this is her favorite place to cook! Wish we could have stayed longer! SANCTUARY HOUSE.....A very nice four-day stay in March 2022. After minimal travel for two years , we were happy to get away to a party of the coast we had never visited , but had driven through on a couple of occasions. And Sanctuary House was the perfect introduction to Trinidad! I t is as good as it looks in the photos , a spectacular contemporary home on an equally spectacular cliff with wide ocean and rocky island/beach views. Scoping whales from the deck was a particular treat....The house appears very well maintained and equipped. We were only two of us , the house could easily accomodate six or more in comfort , with enough room for quiet privacy when needed. Location is perfect....out of Trinidads but just a few minutes from the '' town'' and harbor , and our favourite breakfast spot , Seascape Restaurant. If you are not hungry , don't go !!! Delightful people are a feature of Trinidad , be it wait staff , store owners , or locals on the dock fishing quietly for their lunch. And we definitely will be back for crab season ! It is tough to find anything to criticise about Sanctuary House , but here goes ....the oven needed cleaning [ altho' we had no intention of using it!] and there was only one extra trash bag for the kitchen waste bin. SO , scarcely complaints at all !!! Beds were comfortable [ we only tried one !] and shower was great , once the hot water found its way there. We plan to return , it is a great house and wonderful location, and very accurately portrayed in the descriptions on line. And Trinidad Retreats are very pleasant and easy to deal with. Sanctuary House is worth the price tag , and so is Trinidad. !!! Peter and Marian

We had an amazing time celebrating my wife's birthday week at Sanctuary House. The house is located in one of our favorite areas in Trinidad just above Baker Beach. Nestled in between large Sequoias and beautifully landscaped grounds the home has sweeping southwestern views of the Pacific and is a architects dream. We were also pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the house was with cookware, linens, firewood and even back up propane tanks for the grill. We had such a magical time and will definitely be back!
