Always a plus is FREE breakfast and FREE parking. The room had a cozy feel with an extremely comfortable bed, and room included a mini fridge. Close enough to casinos and great dining.

I have been staying at the Hotel Becket in South Lake Tahoe for several years now. I absolutely love its central location to the Heavenly Gondolas and shops, casinos, dining options and more! Only a short drive to the beach in either direction, Zephyr Cove Resort Beach is a MUST in the summertime!! My bestie (pooch) and I give the Hotel Becket a “Paws Up”!!

We normally love this hotel. But in the last 6 months the quality of the rooms have gone down hill for cleanliness and damage to the rooms. When we arrived we couldn’t get into our room as our keys didn’t work. Ran to the office got settled in and find out the curtains are damaged and we can’t have our privacy. They gave us another room, went out for dinner, came back and our keys didn’t work again. I was told to keep them away from phone or CC. The next morning I went for a walk came back to my hotel and again my keys didn’t work. I specifically placed them away from anything. This made for a very frustrating stay. We have been coming here for three years. Never have we had this type of disappointing experience.

We’ve stayed before and our room was more updated. This stay our room smelled like mildew and was a little disappointing. The hotel itself is in a great location. Easy walk to the big hotels and shops.

Good location, good size rooms, comfortable beds, nice decor. Amazing water pressure in the shower :). The only thing I wish that they had better breakfast.

Extremely run-down. Our room had an odor of urine. Toilet seat was worn out with pieces chipped off. There was garbage left in our room. The bunk beds are purposely built without a supporting rail, so they are wobbly. Staff are friendly and breakfast offerings are decent, however lack of tables and seating. So much potential if only the place we kept up.

Doors got jammed in one room we couldn’t get out of the room, we asked for a new room and the door to the bathroom. Didn’t close tile was shattered and broken in bathroom sharp edges

I felt like I got scammed by stying here. Hotel Becket is only the front buildings 1 & 2 we were given rooms in building 3 which is directly behind Building 1 and actually an old hotel name Tahoe Blue but doing business under Hotel Becket’s name and only use appealing pictures from buildings 1 & 2 to get more people to stay here. If I would have known we were going to be given rooms in a total different building/hotel I would made a choice to find another hotel.

They didn't clean the room, the bathroom was a little dirty, the folder was dirty, I don't recommend it.

Unfortunately, our stay was not enjoyable at this facility, in the room we were given. The carpet was extremely worn, torn, looked very dirty, and smelled, at some spots it smelled of urine. The bathroom had a little black mold in between the tiles that we did not shower the two nights there. The front desk staff was friendly and apologetic. They took off one night, but at $300 a night that room was a rip off. Never will we stay there again.

The only thing decent about this hotel is the customer service at the front desk. The room itself was disgusting.
When we walked in the room it smelled like piss and very strong perfume. The family suite must be used as a “dog friendly” room because there was dog poop and trash on the deck off the slider and the bathroom had extreme damage from maybe an animal being locked in there. The carpet was dirty and disgusting and everything was dusty. The bedspread looked dirty and half the outlets in the room didn’t work. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We would have left and gone somewhere else, except we would have lost all deposits ($388). We will never stay here again.

Great stay for BLDG 1&2. Seems perfect location. Walking distance is good. Comfortable rooms. BLDG 3 Seems so far away. Can’t walk to the front without walking around. seems unstaffed. Enjoyed the stay but I am going to request BLDG 1or2

This is our number 1 place to stay whenever possible. Clean, customer service and convenient to walk to wherever we want.

The hotel seems a little run down compared to what it looks like in the photos! There were candy wrappers in the room, shower head was crooked and spraying sideways, the shower curtain was super old…
It’s one of the very few dog friendly hotels so that was a big plus! We will visit again but I hope some upgrades happen soon!

The room was nothing like advertised. There were boards missing on the walls and one wall was raw stucco. Not even painted. They advertise breakfast but that’s a lie- they throw bagels and bread out by a toaster. Very disappointed!

As always hotel Becket has been attentive, way to work with, clean rooms and all around friendly! After trying them on a whim several years back we have been repeat offenders. We’ll def be back!

Overall, we would definitely not stay again. We were on the second floor and our floor creaked so badly it was driving us crazy. We stayed with our two children and if someone got up to use the restroom at night, everyone would wake up. There was a buzzing sign from outside of our bathroom window that made it almost impossible to sleep. The sheets all looked dingy and off white and our towels were gross. We did ask for new ones and a very nice gentleman from housekeeping came to deliver them. I showed him the hair on our towels and the stains. Super grossed us out. We checked in and didn’t go to our room until later at night so at that point and how tired our kids were, we didn’t ask to switch rooms or anything. Overall the place needs some help. There is rusty looking water stains all along the sink backsplash and the caulk is all peeled up, just making it look filthy. The baseboards were so gross and everything just felt so gross. The photos make it look updated and trendy but it’s definitely just a bandaid. The light coming through the cracks below and around our door made it very bright in the room. And the window and AC unit are ancient. We had about $70 in one key cash that helped pay for the room, so it ended up being only $75 after that but I wouldn’t even say it’s worth that. There is a free breakfast of all packaged food laid out on dining tables in the next door restaurant. No gluten free options and no dairy free options so nothing for us there either.

The hotel is in a great location, and is very walkable. Descent price, but the rooms didn’t feel clean. Stains on the curtains, rips in bed skirt, and our bed didn’t even have a fitted sheet. Probably won’t stay here again.

Location is good. Lots of dining options, close to snow activities. The hotel is old and not that clean. Amenities are obsolete. Bed not that comfortable.

Heater was inoperative intermittent at night with my entire family in the hotel at 17 degrees at night . Mold in the ceiling in the bathroom. Windows allows even more cold air in . Bedrooms sheets dirty the worst things besides all that the shower head water pressure was very little . My home in Mexico with been little for water pressure is way better . Can’t even shower comfortably

Beds were overused past their prime. Heater was working but it was very noisy. You can hear people walking talking outside your room it was very inconvenient. Breakfast was poor no microwave in the room. Not worth the price.

The location was old and the carpet looked dirty in our room. The shower was extremely small. The restaurant was closed the days that we were there and fire pits were not in operation.

It was ok. Close to gondola and casinos. Main complaint was first room clerk gave us hadn’t been cleaned yet so I had to go back down and get another room. Also bed was not very comfortable and room was dark. The staff was friendly and breakfast was ok

We had problems with the door keys. It would not be so bad if the office was not over a block away.

Great location. Definitely walkable to the gondola. Across the street from all the shops, restaurants, galleries.
Great customer service, which is rarity these days. Initially we were given a room in the back in the three story building. Room had very tight layout and hallway in the building smelled. When we requested a different room we were accommodated with a smile, no attitude, and were given nice room facing Park avenue.
The rooms are remodeled, modern, clean. Beds are comfortable. Room cleaning is done upon request, we had no issue with this, and didn’t mind requesting the service. Stayed 4 nights, and actually only needed room freshened up once. It makes sense to conserve, and also cleaning crew does not need to clean every single room every single day.
Best part we could bring our dog for $25 per day. Lots of dogs in this hotel during our stay. All well behaved, and it’s fun to be surrounded by fellow dog owners.
I definitely will stay here again, this will be our destination when visiting south Tahoe. I will just make sure to request a room not in the back building.

Rooms are dated and numerous items were non-functioning: bedside lamp, dresser drawer, blinds. Rooms are very small and unlike the pictures on the website - felt like it was a bait and switch and had to check out early.
Also, it's unacceptable that you aren't able to assign rooms next to each other more easily. We were flexible with our check-in time but the hotel system wouldn't allow to assign rooms next to each other until rooms were fully cleaned by staff - makes no sense and have not experienced this with any other hotels (we've had hotels able to accommodate this request numerous times before). It appears to be a dated system for assigning rooms.

No water bottle, no container in coffee maker, almost nothing in breakfast. Overall terrible experience

The hotel is located right in the heart of town, the beds are super comfortable and the staff was very helpful and quick to resolve any issues! Do not think twice on booking this hotel. A quick 2 min walk from Starbucks too.
