Fabulous location. Very quiet and clean. Helpful staff. Exceptional breakfast with great coffee, pastry and fruit.
No iron in the room, but this is common in Italy. Be mindful that it is 5 flights up with no elevator.

Location was amazing, staff were extremely.helpful. the room was big and beautiful. No complaints at all.
Be aware it's on the 3rd floor of an apartment building without stairs - so you can earn all your pizza and gelato!!!

One of the cleanest hotels we have ever been to and the staff was very helpful. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence.

No elevator with hotel on the 6th floor. This should have been disclosed.

This was an excellent "gem" of a hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They were able to check us in early to the room, provide good insights in where to eat, shop, etc. They would call the taxi for us whenever we needed it. The breakfast was really good and fresh. The room itself is big and the bed was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large, excellent shower. The location is really close, within a 5-10 minute walk to everything. The wifi worked well, I was able to stream my netflix with no issues. We used the A/C and it kept the room nice and cold. We didn't need to use the safe but we felt like the room and hotel was in safe area.
I can't think of anything wrong with the place.

Rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were fantastic.
Breakfast was a really good spread and yummy and the place for breakfast was beautiful and cozy. We really enjoyed.
Rocco went out of the way to help us with our luggage and booking a taxi on the day we left, thank you for the same.
We didn't realize that there wasn't an elevator, so lugging up the suitcases up three floors was daunting where Rocco helped, but if you are booking, just be aware.
Some minor facilities in the room such as bathroom slippers and glasses would have been great.

The location is just outside all of the hustle and bustle. The breakfast is plentiful. The staff is very friendly.
If you have mobility issues please note that there is no lift.

Very elegant room. Delicious breakfast. Great location. Clean and spacious. Attentive staff
Liked everything but people need to know that there is no elevator so they must be prepared to climb several flights of stairs. We did not mind, and the staff helped us with our luggage, but folks need to know.

The room itself was super lovely and cute. Just be prepared for no elevator.
Received a WhatsApp message before arrival asking when time they should expect me. I felt odd about receiving a WhatsApp instead of email but replied with my arrival time. (Booking.com later confirmed this was okay. Although they do prefer property to use their messaging system instead of outside apps for documentation records) After I checked in, I got another message saying “I really like your smile” from the same number named: Rocco who was also the person who checked me in. Deleted the message- I don’t need flirty messages coming through. I expect any place I stay in to offer professional values.
After checking out next day 10am, that evening around 6pm I received more WhatsApp messages in a row
“do you know where your key is?”
“I can’t find them”
…15 seconds later
“Oh I found them hahha”
“Sorry”
He is the one who checked me out. I gave him the key. If it was really an issue I would’ve accepted a more professional message. One could understand that these messages are unnecessary and a way to get someone to reply and start a chat.
I didn’t respond nor open any of these messages.
Next day, he sees my review on booking.com and WhatsApp’s me again.
“I read your review. Sorry I wasn’t being flirty, it was just a compliment”
“Could you send me a screenshot of our conversation”
“I will cancel your review”
“Thank you”
At this point I’m really fed up that I’m still receiving private messages from an individual number on WhatsApp. If it’s a property email or through booking.com it is more professional & understandable.
Called booking.com and told them about the issue-that I didn’t want to call the man directly and want to know if there is someone higher up in management I can contact.
The lovely staff called the property for me,
She let me know he is the owner. And that they have flagged the place in any case more cases like this arise in the future and that he will not be messaging me anymore.

Hotel Hugo was fantastic, the staff were amazing and ensured a very smooth check in. They were more than happy to hold our luggage whilst we visited the town. They also gave some great food and activity recommendations. The room was fantastic! It offered lots of space and had a beautiful bathroom.

Amazing boutique property a little far off from the center in a quiet area. You do have to walk up three floors to the hotel but it’s not that bad. we booked the triple room which was quite big compared to most European standards. Loved the Eceletic style. Rocco was amazing and took good care of us throughout always with a smile. Breakfast was basic but fresh ….. sandwiches bread and pastries. will definitely recommend this hotel and would come back surely.
I loved everything. it was perfect 😍

Very nice cozy hotel on the second floor of an apartment building. The owner was friendly and recommended very good trattorias in town and things to see.

Peace and tranquillity of hotel. Great location and wonderful host in Rocco.
Nothing to say here.

The property is the top floor of an old school building, it has been decorated to a high standard. It doesn’t feel like a hotel, nice and quiet and relaxed. Beds were comfortable, room was warm and felt secure, great shower. Breakfast was delicious and Rocco was helpful. Location was good, in between the train station and the main part of the city. Great value for money.
No lights in the communal hallways at night, fine with a phone torch though. Not a problem, just an observation.

Brekfast was pretty basic.
There is too many stairs to get to hotel, we didn't expect that :) no elevator to almost 4th flor.

The stay at Hugo Boutique Hotel couldn’t be better. Nice place, perfect location, 10-15 minutes walk to the main attractions of the city (Santa Maria Novella, Duomo, Galleria dell’Accademia...). Facilities are impeccable, the decoration is simple but classy, very clean amd comfortable. Surely you could find more hotels with similar features, but the difference is made by the staff. The hotel manager, Rocco, is very helpful and friendly, and he will help you with everything you need. Undoubtedly, it is a great place to stay in Firenze. Good value for money. I hope to come back soon.

Very close to the city centre
Beautiful cosy and modern room for 3
Very helpful host in Rocco who gave us free access to our room because we arrived at 23:00
Very glad to have stayed in this hotel with good airco
The wifi signal was a bit weak at the end of the corridor in the last room
The dining room is a bit small when fully crowded, otherwise no problem
Breakfast could consist of some local products to make it special

Very good location, even though I had a knee injury and wasn’t able to walk very far, most sights were near enough. The room was nice and clean. The host was very helpful and gave us some ideas for our time in Florence. Will definitely recommend!
We would have appreciated an elevator due to my bad knee, however, it was a small inconvenience and any other time we wouldn’t have even thought about it.
