Good Stuff: I don't know if all the rooms are like this but the one we had was a Queen bed with pull-out couch. It had a mini-kitchen with fridge and plenty of room. The shower was amazing. The staff was awesome, it felt really safe to be there, breakfast had a lot of options, and it was clean. Stuff you should know: There is no parking on-site so you either need to use the valet ($49 / day), park on the street, or use a parking garage down the street ($24 / day). There are two parking garages within easy walking distance. The pull-out would be Ok for 1 or two kids. But if you are an adult and perhaps on the heavier side (like me ;) ) the pull-out wasn't really comfortable. Not a knock on the Hyatt House, but a commentary on pull-out beds in general. I thought we got a great value and would stay there again.

Good location on the waterfront. Room was nice and the kitchenette is very usable. Good condition and clean. Breakfast was better than average for a free hotel breakfast. Greatest inconvenience was very little room to pull up and unload in front, and the only parking option is $50 valet. We ended up using a city lot halfway up the block for $14 overnight. Worth the short walk to save $35 and not pay repeated valet tips.

Please don’t let diaper-wearing tots in the pool - it’s not a kiddie pool! Too deep and it’s not possible to clean adequately.

I really enjoyed the demeanor of everyone working in the hotel, and it was helpful for me to have GF labels for breakfast. But, my first room has sticky "stuff" on the counters and floor and a stain on the toilet seat. Gross. So they moved me. And in my 2nd hotel room on the 2nd day when I went to shower I found a big clump of hair on the entry way. By that point I was over it and didn't ask to move, but I think cleaning services are not great. Gym was helpful, and its a great location. There is parking at the Douglas for $24 / day instead of the $48 a day for valet and it is just 2 blocks away. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

The property is close to the river trail. There are a handful of restaurants within very close walking distance. Access to public transportation is also nearby depending on which you are choosing. The Max line is about 3/4 of a mile away and the street car just up the road.

Poor Valet Parking - Valet parking is only available till 11PM. So if you are coming or going after 11PM. You are on your own to park although you still need to pay Valet parking charges as you chose while checking in. You won’t get any parking spots free nearby, so just understand the challenge you are going to face here if you are in Portland for night outs. I won’t stay here again.

Staff are friendly and welcoming. Valet parking at $45 per day gives peace of mind, but free side-street parking and low-cost public garage parking is available as well. Close to the airport, central location for activities both East and West of downtown Portland. Decent breakfast offerings, which is included. Clean and cozy hotel. Would definitely recommend!

We arrived well after the check in time. We where given a room on the 6th floor which was very nice large windows, great view of city and nice room layout. As we walked down the hall we noticed a small of hot garbage that was disgusting about 10 rooms prior to our room. As we got closer and closer the smell got stronger and stronger. Then a staff worker ran down the hall from the other end saying is that your room. We opened the door and the smell hit us in the face. She said there was a smell coming from the garbage disposal. There were dishes currently running as well. They had ionization air filters in the room. We asked for another room. They showed us a different room that was smaller, had zero windows, and was not like the room we booked. We declined and asked if they could help make it right. They told us if we came back in a few hours they would have it taken care of. When we got back they had gotten rid of the smoke mostly.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Everything went well (check-in, customer service dealing with noise, location, amenities..) until checkout. On Nov.28 when we checked out, the front desk staff was giving attitude not smiling not greeting. Took our key asking no questions, we had to proactively give our room number, then we just got "you're checked out". The staff was not even looking at us, saying goodbye, absolutely nothing. Was he discriminating us in anyway? Because we're asian? Because we have pets? Why did I pay to be treated like this? What kind of training did you do to your front desk staff? We checked out around 8:30a, room 525. You can find out who that is easily. This guy ruined our vacation, completely!

This is a great place to stay in Portland. The neighborhood is very walkable and there are Great places to eat and sightsee nearby. I enjoyed my stay there greatly. Thank you Hyatt House!

Room was nice and very clean. The area felt very safe, and it’s a quiet area in Portland. Staff was friendly, breakfast was great. They upgraded us from a king room, to a suite with a kitchen free of charge! 10/10 would recommend
