We loved the decor, classy but modern. The history was intriguing. The beds were amazing...so comfortable and the pillows were equally plush. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We dined at Bridgemans and it was superb and convenient. We leveraged the Starbucks for breakfast. My girls enjoyed the pool one evening...a big plus. And lastly we required assistance to and from our room because we were traveling with my elderly mother. The valet staff were so helpful and quick to help with luggage and retrieve the car. We will stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

I enjoyed the location at first, a lot of places to shop and eat are nearby. Also a lot of the city’s main attractions are within walking distance. Like I said, enjoyed it at first until we found out that a music festival which was two blocks away had a shooting incident. Me and my family was walking there when we decided to make a last minute change and go to a sports bar instead and watch a NCAA Basketball Elite 8 game.
Room was severely overpriced, I have stayed in much nicer rooms at a fraction of the cost.

Loved the atmosphere, dark wood and furnishings. Staff were exceptional!

The front desk staff who help with check-in.
A service worker who helps make the sofa bed.
The manor- traditional double queen was too simple and crude and smells of mold which was waiting for renovation.
The historic tower- executive suite looked great and the king bed in the bedroom was comfortable. But the sofa bed was so uncomfortable, because the spring was collapsed, the whole body would sink and feel every spring, need to renew…

everything was great. Location is amazing. Hotel atmosphere was great. Beds were comfortable.
We had some problems when checking in with valet. And then no one asked to help with out luggage.
Pricing was very high. It almost deterred me from staying there.

Beautiful hotel. Staff is top notch and seems really happy to make your stay a happy one. We really enjoyed the speakeasy bar and the beautiful lobby. Shout out to Alan at the front desk who was extra friendly and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, as well as to the valet and the friendly doorman with the derby hat.
Water pressure in the shower. It wasn't bad, but could have been better. Definitely not a deal breaker.

Refurbished rooms was very spacious and well appointed which we would have scored much higher. Its difficult to believe the 2 rooms were part of the same hotel.
Our original room which we did not accept had an extremely worn out bathroom which most people would find unacceptable.

The location was great and the room and hotel was clean.
Very friendly staff.
I was on the 4th floor and it takes a bit for the water to heat up.

Bar staff was excellent! Holly worked behind the bar alone Thursday night and the place was standing room only. There was a huge wedding party there. Holly never slowed down or lost her smile. The next night was dead at first but picked up heavily but Chandler did great. I had dinner at the bar both nights and the food was excellent.
John at the hotel entrance was wonderful. So cordial and friendly. He also did a great job giving five of us a tour of room 311. He worked all day and still kept his awesome demeanor even for the tour late that night.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful! One of my top favorites of all time!
As I was checking in, the couple next to me was also checking in. They had a guy checking them in and I had Mei. The guy gave the couple free champagne, this and that, I think a welcome bag. I got a business card to some restaurant for free Brussels sprouts. Oh, and the couple was in The Manor same as me. In the same type of room. I just felt like that because they were an older couple - and I was a single man - that they got different treatment. No biggie, really, but I’ve been in retail management for 36 years and equal treatment is important. Again, I loved the hotel! The check-in was my first impression but thankfully it went uphill from there!!

The hotel architecture, lobby, the historical part of it was very good. The location is great if you are looking for activities in the downtown.
In our room we had very run down bathroom, it was also dirty when we checked in. The carpet in the room smelled a bit, so quite outdated everything in the room. Noise level is high, I could hear all conversation of our neighbors. If someone closed the door in the hall our door was shaking and making noise.

The hospitality was exceptional, and the atmosphere is elegant but fun! The front desk offered an upgrade from a manor room to a tower room for a reasonable price and we were NOT disappointed with our decision to upgrade. The tower rooms have more of a 1920s feel than the manor rooms. My husband and I come to Chattanooga a few times a year and have stayed at the Edwin and the Chattanoogan hotel, but this was our first time staying at the Read House. Our experience at the Read House was by far our favorite. We will definitely be staying at the Read House moving forward!

The amenities and decor.
The tubs were chipped or filled with yellowish filling.

Very friendly personnel and an impressive interior.
Good and quick-serviced valet parking.
Very spacious room and excellent beds.
The bar is much too small for a real happy hour. About half of the visitors have to go out again by lack of room.
No breakfast in location, but a very goor Diner on the next corner.

only one minor detail - no usb ports to charge devices and very few plugs to charge either.
