Recommndations:: 'We had a very nice stay in your apartment. The beds were very comfortable. It was agreed that it was the best sleep that we had while travelling in Europe. We had no trouble finding the apartment. We will gladly recommend your apartment to anyone who wants to be close to the main attractions of Paris, but still in a non-tourist area. We really loved the fact that we would walk to the bakery every morning to pick up fresh baked goods.' 'May I take this opportunity to say what a lovely time we had in Paris and found your apartment to be a wonderful base for our family holiday. Next time we visit Paris we will definitely look to see if your apartment is available' The exterior of the building has just been repainted, and we have taken this opportunity to refurbish the rear bedroom, exposing the beams and creating a new dining room which will seat six comfortably. We have only recently submitted the apartment for bookings again after quite a few months, that is why there are no recent reviews.

This is a fantastic apartment, very spacious and more than enough room for my family. Close to metro stops that service the 5,8 and 9 lines, and to boulangeries, cafes, restaurants and bars. The apartment was well appointed for everything you might need for your stay, including to cook a meal.
Check in was relatively easy and the instructions provided before our stay and in the apartment by Janet were very helpful.
This is a great place to stay for those who want to experience a lively Paris neighbourhood. A tip is to make sure you close the outside shutters to limit street noise at night in the main bedroom. We stayed over a very loud NYE and the noise was minimised by the shutter and we slept like a dream.
The apartment is a little slice of Paris heaven and I would love to stay again the next time we are in Paris.

The property is ideally located no more than 75 metres from the metro. It is a busy bustling part of Paris, perfectly safe and secure. Shops of all types within a Km or two. Groceries can be delivered from local supermarket. Fantastic boulangerie, boucheries nearby. A vast array of cafes, bars and high end restaurants within walking distance. Cannot recommend more highly. WIll definitely stay again if in Paris. Ideal for us as two couples. Host was very helpful.

Great property in fab location! Two bed two bath for two couples was ideal. Able to get around Paris with ease during our trip. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for a week and there were two couples. We each had a bathroom and having laundry facilities was a real bonus given the heat wave we had.
Fabulous location next to the metro and cafes and shops. The market on the Tuesday and Friday was close by and an excellent place to pick up food.
The apartment was clean and very tidy and the owner could not have been more helpful with our queries. Highly recommend

Just back from this rental - bit of a disaster. Was given access info on how to enter rental property four days before we were due to arrive. ONLY at this time were we told (in the info letter provided) that you had to get the keys by 10pm (as shop closed after this). Contacted the host that this was not possible as flight did not get into 9.30pm.
The host kindly informed us to either change our flights or get a hotel for the night! As it was TOO LATE for them to arrange otherwise!
Given that we were paying around £300 a night was expecting better. In addition host currently refusing to refund the night despite that we were not at fault. So beware.
Finally the apartment is lovely, however it does over look 2 very busy outdoor restaurant and bar. Since there is no air conditioning, the windows need to to be open and you hear the noise from them to late at night (Specially weekends).

Our family of 5 (three children - all young adults) enjoyed our stay in this apartment. There was enough room for all of us to stay comfortably- each in our own space as well as come together as a group. Janet had all the apartment instructions laid out and it worked well to pick up the key at the start of our stay and drop off at the end. The convenience of the Oberkampf stop right outside the apartment door was fantastic for taking the metro from the airport, in getting around the city to see the sights of Paris, and for returning to the airport. Our little piece of the city was away from the main tourist areas (which we like) and the restaurants, boulangeries and pâtisseries were good. We would love to stay here again on our return trip to Paris.

My 19 year old grandson and I stayed at the apartment for 10 days. Loved the convenience of the metro, so nice to have such a short walk after a busy day. The apartment had everything we needed, clean and homey. This neighbourhood feels safe, lots of restaurants and other small businesses so you don’t have to go far for grocery shopping or a glass of wine.
Corresponding with Janet was fabulous,
She gives detailed information in a timely manner. Would certainly stay there again if the opportunity arises.

We were very pleased with our stay in this apartment. It has plenty of space for 2 sets of guests to spread out...we were grandparents in one space and a daughter and granddaughter in a bedroom in the back which is separated by the kitchen and dining area. So each of us had quite a bit of privacy...very hard to find in Paris apartments. The front bedroom can be very noisy at night from the bar across the street. Close the outside shutters and close the door to the living room and turn on your sound machine app -- this made a big difference!
A few other guests have mentioned that the check-in process is a bit challenging and we agree, esp for those of us who are very tired from a journey. Retrieving the key from the 'key cafe' was not an issue.. our taxi driver found it quickly. But both inner apartment building doors require passing the key fob over the "knob" on the panel ... sorry to say, in our haste of travel, we had not completely read the directions about the fobs or where the security panels were located. We finally made it in after a bit of struggling!
On the whole, Janet was very helpful and provided a beautiful apartment! Plenty of room for sitting and relaxing when you need a break from sightseeing. And literally a 2 minute walk to the Metro station on the corner.

This property was ideal for the four of us who were spending four nights in Paris. The location was also ideal, with a Metro station across the street and a great locals restaurant also across the street.

We had a wonderful stay at Janet's apartment. The apartment was in a great location and large enough for a family to stay comfortably. Janet was very accommodating with an early check-in and checkout. We would love to stay again in the future!

Nice place, with good location. Lots of restaurants and things to do in the area. Also right by the Metro station. It does get noisy at night so you may want to bring some ear plugs, or load a white noise app on your phone at night.

We loved this apartment, both its location and the interior which accommodated five adults very easily. It's hard to improve on some of the reviews that have already been written here, but it was very much like a home from home - lots of good books to peruse and spacious enough to have a quiet corner when needed. Outside there are bars, shops, cafes and restaurants all within easy walking.
Janet was easily contactable and once we'd got the hang of the key pick-up system is was all plain sailing. We all agreed that we'd be back, for those lovely walks - and we covered miles and miles on foot, and the really lovely atmosphere in the apartment.
Thank you Janet.

Very well situated appartment. the neigbourhood is bright and lively. Nice foodmarket, fantastic places to eat and shop. Temple street in walking distance and metro stop at the doorstep. Janet is a very helpfull and super responsive host. The appartment is charming, clean and functional. It feels immediatly at home, on the first floor. A really good place to stay.

Very pleasant stay in this spacious flat. The property is very old but very nice. The communication, check in process and check out were faultless.
The flat is very well equipped with kitchen equipment, Tv etc and linen.
The area is central so we walked for miles and there are good shops, bars etc locally.
Because it’s so central it’s lively and can be noisy at night - sleep in the rear bedroom if you are a light sleeper.
Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

The apartment was so cute! And the location was absolutely perfect with the metro just right across the small street. We loved it!

Like most of the previous reviews we have nothing but praise for Janet’s sweet place in the 11th. It appears as if there were once two apartments that have been nicely combined into one with wonderful separation of space. We are two friends traveling together and appreciated having our own rooms and bathrooms. In my opinion, the apartment is even nicer than the pictures show. The layout is wonderful and would work well for a family. The back bedroom is very quiet and dark so perfect for sleeping. We loved the neighborhood. Lots of nearby shopping in quaint shops, the divine Gaia Boulangerie just 50 steps from our front door (yes, I counted), a great bar across the street where excellent wine and drinks are available for 5-6 euro. The Metro is easy, efficient, and clean and with the entrance just feet from the apartment so we could be anywhere we wanted to go in no time at all. Shops for produce, meat, pastries, and more are nearby. We usually had breakfast in the apartment and ate our main meal out in the afternoon. After a full day in Paris it was nice to come back here and enjoy roasted chicken and potatoes from the nearby butcher, fresh salad, and one of the famed French baguettes available everywhere. Janet’s kitchen is compact and well provisioned. This is in a very old building so expect the standard quirks like uneven floors but it was very clean and had none of the musty smell one might expect in an older place. I could go on because this was my first trip to Paris and I loved everything but having this pleasant and comfortable place to return to every evening made it all extra special.

This property was one of the few we found that had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with showers and was reasonably priced. It was quite spacious with the bedrooms at opposite ends so it was perfect for 2 couples. There was a large dining area where every morning we had coffee and pastries or quiche from the boulangerie that was literally around the corner. The location was perfect with the metro across the street that covered 2 lines. There were excellent restaurants nearby. Our favorite was The Cellar specializing in Franco Japanese cuisine. Don’t miss the twice weekly market on Richard Lenoir that is 2 blocks away from the apartment.
Communicating with the owner, Janet was excellent. She was very responsive and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay here again. It is great for anyone wanting to experience living in a real neighborhood in Paris, with all attractions close by either by walking or on the Metro.

First of all, this is without a doubt a wonderful location. It is literally steps from the Metro, boulangeries, patisseries, restaurants, and grocery stores. It's easy to find, it's easy to access (it's only up one shortish flight of stairs) and it's easy to live in. It felt completely safe, too.
There were four of us and there are two bedrooms in the flat - each of us had a bedroom and a private bath (one bath is by the kitchen but close to one of the bedrooms). We found the enclosed porch/dining area a great place to hang out. The living room was comfortable - it has a huge dip in the floor, but it seemed ok, and otherwise was also a nice area with comfortable sofas and chairs to enjoy.
The only issue we had at all were that the dryer didn't really dry things - it was vented back into the bathroom, which tended to make the attached bedroom a bit humid. It might be helpful to put instructions on the dryer, since none of us could get it to actually dry things. The washer was great, by contrast. In the kitchen there is no toaster, though much thought has been put into what IS there and everything was well organized and handy. We had to replace toilet paper and paper towels, but we were there for about a week so that's not much of an issue.
Overall, this is a lovely place to stay and we would not hesitate to stay there again. You canNOT beat the location, that's for sure.

Great location, convenient to Oberkampf Metro (only steps away!!), good for 2 couples as bedrooms were separated and had 2 bathrooms, great brasserie and eateries available. And pharmacies!

In a great neighborhood with many cafes, boulangeries and a supermarche, this charming apartment was a lovely place to call home for our 9 days in Paris. We enjoyed visiting the Place des Vosges and its restaurants, the Bastille and Marais, all short walks away.
The kitchen and dining areas were fully equipped, up to date and delightful places to share meals. The living room was comfortable and charming.. Would highly recommend!

Dated but convenient. Located on what the we in the US consider the second floor, no elevator.

Our apartment in southeast Paris was spotless when we arrived and a very comfortable place to stay!
We were just steps from the Metro…convenient to Gare du Nord…LOTS of great eating choices in the neighborhood!
Our host was attentive to our needs and questions…her book in the apartment is filled with everything you’d want to know about the apartment, the area and the history of Mr. Oberkampf (who the nearby street and metro station are named for).
Thanks for a wonderful place to land in Paris!

My sisters and daughter stayed for a week. This apartment was perfect! So close to 3 Metro stations, market, bakery, and cafes. I appreciated Janet’s suggestion for our last night’s dinner, La Coupole, in the Latin District. It was very good and our waiter was quite entertaining! I would definitely stay in this and any other places Janet hosts.

We loved staying in Janet's apartment. The location is excellent and is so close to the metro (literally steps away) that it makes everything very convenient. Everything you need to be comfortable during your stay is within easy walking distance and the Gaia Boulangerie around the corner had the best pastries we have had in France. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you need including multiple USB charging ports for all of your electronics! Other reviews mention the noise, but we had no issues at all. It is a city experience and exactly what we were looking for and would expect from an apartment located in the heart of the city. Janet was an excellent host and answered our questions quickly and was always available to help when needed. I would definitely recommend staying here and we would come back for sure again the next time we visit Paris!

We spent six days using this apartment as a base and it worked out extremely well. The location is ideal. The nearest Metro stop (Oberkampf) is literally 50 steps from the front door and the neighborhood is clean, attractive and has three or four boulangerie within a two block radius and a Carrefour market just across the main street. The host was accommodating and very helpful and the instructions provided were very detailed. The apartment was clean and well-appointed in terms of appliances and utensils.
There was no problem picking up the keys and the apartment is very secure with two front doors to get thru and an extremely sophisticated lock system on the door to the apartment.
There was a snafu with the return of the keys but that seems to have been a one-time problem which the host will address.
All in all it was a delightful place from which to do our sight-seeing and we would (and probably will) try and rent the space on our next trip to this fabulous city.

A group of 5 friends and I stayed in Janet’s lovely aprtment. The apartment slept 6 adults quite comfortably. You’ll have access to all the necessities including laundry and a full kitchen. The street remains a little noisy at night, but personally I didn’t mind that. My only feedback would be that there was no extra toilet paper or trash bags (at least that we could find) so we had to go out and buy some. Very Minor inconvenience. The neighborhood was fantastic and located next to many markets, cafes and metro stop. I would absolutely recommend Janet’s apartment to anyone visiting Paris.

I truly believe that a vacation home should feel like home away from home but better! And that's what you get with this amazing flat. It is equipped with everything you need and then some. It's situated in a great neighborhood about a 5 min walk from La Marais but the Oberkampf neighborhood has great shops, restaurants, and everything you need including multiple pharmacies to get those much needed COVID tests for travel. This apt was truly part of the vacation and made our stay in Paris such a splendid time. My aunt even teased that she would stay an extra week just to hang out in the neighborhood and the flat. :) I will say that the apt is located on a busy corner but that's all part of living in Paris...the movement and charm. We were 4x people but can totally fit 5-6 if you don't mind a pull out sofa.

Be very careful if you decide to choose this apartment. Almost two weeks after we left the apartment, a message is posted that the Venetian blinds in one of the bedrooms had been damaged and that we were being charged 200 euros. The charge has already shown up on my credit card. We know that everything was fine when we left, but obviously there's nothing we can do about it. We had previous problems with communication with the host and also some issues with the apartment but we let them go. We will not let this go! Beware!

Had a great time. Closing front shutters helped reduce street noise. Great location, wonderful stay.

Our time in Paris was cut short due to travel restrictions that went into effect a few days after our arrival and that necessitated our early return to the US as a result of the Coronavirus, but we would have happily stayed in this lovely, clean, well-appointed apartment for many, many days longer. The space in the apartment was great for a family of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers) with plenty of sitting room for baguettes and cheese after long days of exploring and before setting out for dinner plans. The bedrooms were very comfortable, and there were two nicely-sized, clean bathrooms. The kitchen has everything one could need to cook or to store food from the cheese shops and bakeries and the amazing food market just a couple of blocks away. The WiFi worked very well and was fast. The location was terrific. There were other comments about street noise. We did not find this to be an issue at all. The area is very vibrant and the Metro is literally just steps from the apartment. The property manager was quick to respond to any questions. The booklet of information left for us was very helpful and we enjoyed the restaurant suggestions it contained. We did not get enough of Paris due to our shortened stay and would definitely stay here again.

Excellent size for a family of 5. Janet was very responsive with questions. I would definitely stay there again.
