Very clean room. Wifi excellent throught the premises. The food was very good at a reasonable price.
The bedroom space could be better used. Put the TV on the wall opens up more counter space. Less drawers gives more space for suitcases.

A lovely little hotel, off the beaten track but perfect for exploring the area. It seems to have about 12 motel style units. Not spacious but sufficient. The rooms are modern, clean and light and very well kitted out. A small but clean, modern, ensuite shower room with plenty of towels, soaps, etc. The room has tea and coffee ( and hot chocolate) making facilities and biscuits! I've found a hair dryer, a USB powered fan! A small fridge, a curved (!) Screen TV and a very comfy bed! The food offering so far has been superb. In the restaurant last night I had a rather nice starter of fried brie, a main of roast lamb ( lovely meat, really well cooked veg and all piping hot! ) and a very generous ginger sponge with custard to finish. A very enjoyable meal at a very sensible cost. This morning's included breakfast was equally good, a selection of juices, fruit, cereal etc and a good choice of cooked food. I had the full English and it was excellent!
I'm loving this place so much I'm staying an extra night!
A quick update... on the second evening I started with the creamy garlic mushrooms, a smallish portion but really tasty. For my main I had the 10oz Sirloin steak ! It was superb ! No room for a pud tonight ! The second morning's breakfast was again really nicely cooked and well presented.

Lovely decor, clean and bright. Friendly, helpful staff. Food was great. Even provided oat milk in room for those who prefer.

Great location for visiting family in the area. The room was comfortable, compact, clean and well equipped. They even provided a bowl,blanket and treats for our dog. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful.
The checkout time had changed to 10am, we would have preferred a later check out.

One member of senior staff (manager) I think, was not so friendly, on one occasion as I was entering the Bar area, she switched lights off and said they were closed. No chance of me going back or recommending this to any of my many associates and colleagues

Was more like a Motel but none the worse for that. Lovely room, good breakfast and reasonable priced evening meal. No complaints what-so-ever.

we loved staying at the fir tree the room was lovely comfortable and clean, the food was amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful .

The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and especially accommodating with medical dietary needs. The breakfast and evening meal were very good, the latter being exceptionally good value for money. The restaurant and bar area was cosy with good decor. The room and en suite, although both quite small, were very well maintained and spotlessly clean with a great selection of teas, coffees and good quality towels and toiletries.
Nothing could have improved our stay. Everything was lovely.

As I’m disabled it was an excellent choice all the the rooms are on ground level. The best attribute to the hotel was the staff nothing was never to much in the way of the service I received.

Lovely rooms, lovely staff (gave me extra biscuits - don't tell anyone :) ). Great breakfast and good place for evening meal too.
Room could have extra shelving to store things like bathroom stuff (shaving/aftershave etc). But honestly that is just minor comment. I believe they were in the process of updating the rooms when I was there. They had two rooms closed for refurbishment. This place seems to be doing the right thing. Give them your support if you're in the area.

I loved the motel style of accommodation, no need to go through the main bar but could go directly to your own front door which is of great benefit if your mobility is impaired - level access and easy to get to. The rooms were scrupulously clean, if a little compact but provided everything we needed for our 1 night stay.
The breakfast was superb, they obviously use the very best of fresh local ingredients in their cooked breakfast and the selection of cereals was good.
The staff were all friendly and approachable.
We didn't eat an evening meal here but heard excellent reports about the food from other guests.
Would definitely recommend staying here, in fact I think their prices are very cheap for the standard of accommodation- we weren't expecting very much because we'd only paid £89 for the night!
The rooms are compact and the shower is small but I am slightly larger than average with mobility issues so this probably wouldn't impact other travellers.

the car park was clean, even the hanging baskets were maintained and old flowers tidied up.

The check in process was straight forward. After that, we were actually shown to our room and not just given the key, which was a nice touch. The towels were nice and soft and big (a proper bath towel that covers the whole body).
There is a menu for cooked breakfasts ranging from an All-day English to a mushroom omelette. Other items are available from the buffet.
There is plenty of parking.
Nothing. It was practically perfect for our needs.

Only one chair in a double room( a folding one would be acceptable). No shelf for toiletries in the shower room.
