This is a beautiful and secluded home with amazing views, lots of wildlife including birds, a sloth, monkeys, a green & black dartfrog who visited daily and a friendly and curious pizote. The walk to the river was beautiful, the pool very enjoyable and the kitchen was well appointed for any cooking we wanted to do. This is one of the nicer VBRO properties our family has been to and higly recommend it.

Really cool. Directions were a little scary due to pictures on what to look for. Wasn’t prepared for that but turned out ok. House needed some minor stuff. Such as New umbrellas. But Lance brought new ones about 12 days into stay. I would go again everything worked and pool was awesome.

Staying at Villa De Sueno for 12 Nights was absolutely amazing. The description online at VRBO does not do it justice. It exceeded all of our expectations. Moreover, the pool was amazing, but the grounds (property) was absolutely breathtaking. The animals (kawadi, monkeys, capybarras, carious birds) came and visited us frequently. The hike to the private waterfall was great, the waterfall itself was refreshing and beautiful. In addition, Christine was always available for advice, or any other need. This was absolutely the greatest vacation home that we have ever rented. Costa Rica was spectacular -- Pura Vida!!!

With beautiful rooms, incredible views, and wonderful amenities (A/C, pool, laundry, beach equipment), this property has it all!
Minutes away from a 24/7 gas/grocery stop, and 15 minutes outside of Uvita, you will have everything you need to balance "getting out of town" with "having everything you need to have a great time."
The constant communication with the host, even during some street wide power outages, and backup power for internet was a great comfort for myself and my friends. (Power was also restored very quickly).
We all had an incredible time and would be happy to return again!

From the property managers, Christine and Lance, to the actual house, amenities, location, etc. this listing is 10 out of 10. If I could rate it even higher, I would. Christine and Lance were super responsive and helpful every time. They made everything so easy.
The home is fully equipped with a chef’s kitchen, plenty of linens, both bath and beach towels, and super clean throughout. The view in the backyard is unbelievable!
You will need a 4x4 vehicle to get up the road near the house, especially if it’s rainy, but that’s all a part of the Costa Rican adventure. You’ll need a 4x4 for most excursions anyway. And speaking of excursions, staying at this property connects you with Karol at Pacific Expeditions who helped organize many of our amazing excursions with reputable providers during our stay.
I cried as we left the last day because I wasn’t ready to leave this paradise!! We are already discussing a return in future years and would love to stay in this home again. Thank you to the owners and to Christine and Lance for everything! Pura vida! 🇨🇷

This property sits high up on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean surrounded by jungle. For those who are looking to drop out and chill, this is the place. The pool is pristine and a absolute must. Be prepared to see Toucans and Macaws in the surrounding trees. If you are an early riser you will hear the call of Howler monkeys also in the nearby trees. All of this nature around you and yet fine dining is only minutes away. There was never a day that passed without enjoying fresh local pineapples, mangos, watermelon and avocadoes. This area in Costa Rica is a 10!!

First class both property and manager. Christine and Lance were great. Very responsive. Wealth of information about every thing we asked!

Our family of 5 (kids 14, 11, 7) had an absolutely wonderful stay in this house in the jungle with majestic views. Christine and Lance made the entire process easy from directions to check in and check out. Their recommendations of using Karol(pacific expeditions ) was absolutely fantastic for booking excursions. All were within 25 minutes of the house and fabulous. Local beaches are great and driving around was a breeze. Our family saw tons of animals on the property including the local house jungle friend “Cooper”. The pool at the house provided hours of fun for the kids after morning excursions and the house was stocked with everything you would need to prepare meals. Some local favorite restaurants of ours were—los gatos locos, SIBU, fuego brewing company, and Mosaic. Would absolutely recommend this house to anyone wanting to experience a hassle free week away from crowds and to experience the local Costa Rican Pacific culture. Pura Vida!!!!

House was lovely, pool was gorgeous, and house was well appointed. My only knock is the water heater was new and not working well so even with a guy coming out to service it, we never got a warm shower which is a bummer for such a nice house. Other than that, great spot.

This was an amazing property! The house is spacious, beautifully appointed, comfortable, perfect. The pool was wonderful. We loved waking up to the toucans and howler monkeys each morning. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was so well stocked. Christine the property manager was extremely helpful and kind. Our vacation here was absolutely perfect. 10/5 stars!

Everything about this house was wonderful. It was meticulously clean and had everything we needed. My husband and I stayed with our two children 22 and 18 it was perfect! The 3 bedrooms and bathrooms were so spacious with gorgeous views. The beds were very comfortable and we all enjoyed having our own beautiful bathroom. We loved the open plan kitchen and living area that overlooked the beautiful pool, grounds and view of the ocean. We saw lots of wildlife right outside our door and enjoyed our visits from the little coati. We hiked on the property and swam in the private water holes. The weather was perfect, even though it was rainy season we had plenty of sunshine and got to enjoy activities in the mornings and afternoons. The house had a wonderful relaxing feel to it. The property managers Christine and Lance were so helpful. They were very quick to answer any questions we had. They helped us navigate the drive from SJO when we were unable to get on the highway due to a landslide blocking entrance early on. We found the roads to be very manageable and didn’t come across too many pot holes even driving in the dark and rain the day we arrived. We booked activities through Pacific Expeditions and they were great. We also were able to book activities the day of by ourselves In Manuel Antonio and Sierpe. All the restaurants were great and the grocery stores had everything we needed. Locals were incredibly friendly and welcoming. This was a perfect vacation we wished we could have stayed longer. We are already planning our next visit to this fantastic house we can’t wait to come back! Thank you.

I can't say enough amazing things about our stay in Costa Rica and in this home! It is exactly as the pictures appear, if not prettier in person. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, and the ACs work really well when you need them. We chose not to run them except when we were sleeping- between the breezes and the ceiling fans, we were okay during the day.
A few items that I can share:
1) The property is gated and we never felt like we needed to be worried about safety
2) The pool was serviced twice (that we saw) during our 8 day stay so it always felt clean. It is actually surprisingly deep so I would have floaties if you have littles with you.
3) Bugs were not an issue which made us VERY happy. We saw a few little ants here and there but that was about it.
4) Cooper, the coatimundi, is not shy. He will come right up to the back doors. I was sitting on one of the loungers outside and he actually got a little closer to me than I was comfortable with but once he saw I didn't have food, he moved on.
5) We did have one snake in the driveway, however we sent a message to Christine and she got back to us very quickly that he was nothing to worry about and he went on his way.
6) It's Costa Rica so...power surges. We only lost power one time and that was due to down power lines. The crews were out to fix that incredibly quickly and we were back in action in no time. But don't plan on running all of the AC units, the washer, dryer, and dishwasher at the same time- you could blow the circuits.
7) Use their concierge service to book your excursions! We used Karol who Christine introduced us to and she booked all of our excursions for us ahead of time. A perk is that they will book you on things close to the house so you don't have to go too far. I think the most we ever drove to do an excursion was maybe 25 minutes.
8) If you are looking for restaurants, visit the ones they recommend in the book- we had great dining experiences each time!
9) The road up to the house can be a little rough. We had a four wheel drive so we had no issues- I would recommend you have one if you plan to go out much.
10) The best spot in the house is in the hammock on the 2nd floor balcony. Perfection!
11) The kitchen has pretty much anything you could possibly need if you want to cook. I was never lacking for any appliance or utensil.
12) The hike to the water fall on the property was pretty perilous but it was rainy season so mostly mud. Just be careful.

Jungle luxury
We absolutely loved living in the jungle for four weeks at this incredible home. It is well built, well stocked and very comfortable. The sound of the river can be heard after big rains. It is magic to sleep to rain on the metal roof and wake to the jungle morning chorus. We love the special touches of fresh flowers left by housekeeping and a cooler available for grocery runs. Note, the house is 1.2 miles off the main road; this is an unpaved, rocky road that is best served by 4 x 4.

Wii and power went out due to heavy rain but everything was fixed right way. To notch properly management is an absolutely amazing location.

Beautiful property and location!
My family of 5 (2 adults and 12, 14 and 16 yos) just stayed here for 6 days and wished it was longer! The house is exactly as listed - well built, comfortable, clean, beautifully done, secure and a fantastic yard, pool and view. The kitchen has everything you could want and good quality items. Beds are very comfortable. Lots of games and good books if you didn’t bring your own. Great indoor and outdoor seating (covered and uncovered). Great pool floaties and beach items available for use. Fast and good washer and dryer. A good breeze with doors open so we only used the AC while sleeping and a few hours on one hot day. Christine and Nacho were very responsive and gracious. We saw lots of howler and I think spider monkeys, toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, Jesus lizards and geckos, coati, blue morphos, other butterflies, and gigantic grasshoppers right at the house or alongside the road up. Honestly, we saw more animals here than on 2 tours we took. Just listen and look - or sit quietly and they’ll come close! You will hear the howler monkeys clearly in the early am and late afternoon, but my family slept right thru while I enjoyed watching the sun rise and listening to all the nature around us. No bugs inside at all. We spent 2 days just hanging at the pool because it was that nice. The pool itself is deep and no chlorine so it felt great to be in. The road up is steep and bumpy in parts, but we never needed to engage 4 wheel drive and found it easy to navigate even at night during a heavy rain. It was better than many other roads we drove, but it is ~4 miles round trip so just know that and don’t expect to go back and forth numerous times a day. My runner daughter and husband got great hill workouts in while the howler monkeys cheered them on. Convenient gas station and convenience store at bottom of the road. Lots of great restaurants within 10-25 min; even more if you drive 35 min to Dominical. I highly recommend this house and hope to return some day! We’ve stayed in many great and no so great rentals across many countries, and this one has been our favorite to date.

We spent six weeks at this lovely house and give it high marks. The house is beautiful and the property is well maintained. The pool is absolutely wonderful and is cleaned twice a week. The location is perfect, private and secure, and within easy drive of Uvita and Ojochal, as well as very close to a great beach. You will want a 4x4 for Costa Rica although, strictly speaking, it's not required to access this property IF you are very careful driving the unpaved road and steep driveway. The property managers are first rate. Christine and Lance quickly responded to all queries. Our only reservation about the house is that some of the furnishings need to be replaced. I am quite sure that once the owner is made aware, she will quickly upgrade these. And potential guests should read the listing carefully. We didn't realize that there is no cable service to the house, so you need to have your Netflix or Apple TV sign-in info with you. The internet worked great, though! Our family ranges in age from 8 to 78 and we all loved our stay at this property. Waking up to howler monkeys and sharing our breakfast fruit with Cooper, a coati who visits daily, will be indelible memories, as will the ocean view from the second-floor sitting area. Oh, and the toucans! Did we tell you about the toucans?...

Best family trip yet
Property was perfect for our family with 4 children under 12. We woke up to breakfast by the pool, out for daily adventures and the kids were asleep halfway back to the villa each night. View, amenities and distance to town couldn’t have been any nicer. Uvita pizza, don rogers and farmers markets are a must! We will be back and had adventures that will last a life time.

This property is even nicer than the photos show. Super clean, very nice finishes and appliances, gorgeous jungle view through every window and the pool and landscaping are pristine. We had an amazing time. Heard and saw howler monkeys. Saw and heard toucans every day. And the pizote came for his daily banana treat and is not shy. Had an absolutely amazing time and can't wait to go back!

We fell in love with Costa Rica and this villa was the perfect place to experience it! The pictures are beautiful, but it is even better in person. The location is ideal,
just a short drive from the main road, yet high enough in the hills to provide a great ocean view and a feeling of seclusion. The layout of the house is very open and functional and the kitchen has everything you will need. I was even able to make a birthday cake for my son while there. One of the reasons we chose this villa was because of the amount of acreage surrounding the home and the trail in the backyard did not disappoint. We spent hours climbing the rocks and following the river down to little swimming holes and falls. The pool is huge and deep and a great place to cool off. There is an inquisitive coati named Cooper who visited every day and the howler monkeys were our daily early morning alarm clock. The owner and property managers are very helpful and easy to communicate with. We went with their recommendations for our car rental and excursions and were very happy with both. Christine even helped us figure out where to get COVID tests for our return flight home. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Beautiful Getaway Jungle Style
We loved every second of this stay. The beautiful banana leaves on the gate let you know you were home. Instantly, we fell in love with the sounds of the rainforest. Wonderfully maintained, we settled in quickly. The view is spectacular. Private Waterfall ONSITE within short hiking distance. (Be careful when slippery)... You can tell this VRBO is meticulously well taken care of. Enjoy

What a beautiful place to be!
Jennifer’s place was perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy the richness of Costa Rica. The home has it all and very well supplied with everything you might desire. At night...Very comfortable pillows, beds and bedding.,
We loved the indoor/outdoor living area, with great kitchen....open concept...all around the fabulous pool with 3 separate outdoor spaces plus nice views everywhere. Home is tucked into the jungle, not on a busy road -and home is down a princely gated road with awesome panama trees! So private and secure; you really live the Costa Rica dream inside her beautifully landscaped spaces and jungle hills and mountains around....yet Home is minutes to everything imaginable—- beaches, rivers, islands—- you can see them from pool area plus restaurants, beaches, shops, grocery stores are minutes away. You do need a car but it’s an easy drive up... no 4 wheel needed.
You are going to love this place because both the owner and the people to assist you (David and Diane) are caring, knowledgeable people who do everything in their power to make your stay perfect.
We loved it and them... you will too

Amazing Property! Everything You Need!
I feel like a written review would never do justice to this place. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the house just unbelievable! My family spent a week here and it was truly the best vacation we’ve ever had. The house has everything you could ever need. The kitchen is fully equipped. We woke each morning to the howler monkeys and were visited daily by the white faced capuchin monkeys as well. We loved seeing the toucans each morning and evening as well. We visited during rainy season so we left early each morning to explore but couldn’t wait to get home to this beautiful house and grounds. The property managers Diana and Dave were so very helpful even though we had no issues with the house at all. Jennifer, the owner was kind and helpful and answered all of our questions promptly. We met so many wonderful people in Costa Rica and cannot wait to return! Thank you for memories that will last a lifetime!

Amazing home in the jungle of Costa Rica
Our family of 4 ( two adults and 2 teens) thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent in this wonderful house in Ojochal (a short drive south of Uvita). We saw two types of monkeys, a sloth, toucans and hummingbirds all from the property. The hike to the private river was delightful and just challenging enough to enjoy refreshing in the pool afterward. The pool is immaculately maintained and there were floating lounges available to hang out on.
The kitchen was well stocked with all the things like home. We enjoyed the grill. The A/C worked great to keep the house comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised that there weren’t many bugs or mosquitoes around the house.
A 4x4 is recommended for visiting this part of the world. We found the local people to be extremely friendly and helpful in the area and there are plenty of great tours and restaurants around. The caretakers of the house were available if needed and helpful for all sorts of questions.
We’ll definitely be back if we return to the area.

Absolutely wonderfu
We had an amazing trip to Costa Rica and wonderful stay at this house. The property was so clean and well maintained. We had our 3 teenagers with us and they loved the pool and watching for wildlife. We also had some wonderful bananas and a papaya right from the trees in the backyard. The hike to the waterfall was very nice although our kids were looking for some bigger falls for jumping. We did morning trips each day to find some of those bigger falls and were never disappointed. Most days we planned to be back in the afternoon to just relax and enjoy the pool and the setting. The managers were so helpful. They recommended restaurants for us and we were never disappointed. We also tried several that were listed in the binder of information that was there at the house. Again, everything was so tasty! Our big activity splurge was a day trip for fishing and snorkeling. Unfortunately we didn't plan ahead and the only day available was our last day. We used Bahia Adventures and they were awesome!!! We started out and it was kinda rainy but we still caught lots of tuna, mahi and one other I can't remember. They cleaned it all for us and it would have been great to be able to grill by the pool all week. We did find a restaurant on our way back towards the airport that was willing to cook a bunch of the fish for us. The rest we gave to the crew. Our whole family would love to do this trip again someday!

We took our four children ranging in ages 7-20. We had an amazing time. The house has everything you could possibly need and has a gorgeous view of the ocean from the balcony of the Master Suite. We felt very secure and private but close enough to several beautiful beaches or family activities. The property manager was also very helpful. The waterfalls on property and assortment of fruits was also a very cool experience for the family. The pool and back porch area are also perfect. Jennifer, the owner, was VERY helpful and responsive- even recommending several local experiences. We were extremely pleased with our experience from start to finish! Highly Recommend!

Relaxing Retreat, Beautiful views.
We just returned home after spending 10 days at this house. the house is fresh, clean and well appointed. It is situated 1 hour south of Quepos and 1 hour north of Sierpe, making it perfect for day trips to various attractions. The views from the property are fantastic. I enjoyed the early mornings as the wild life was always on the move. Howler Monkeys, Tucans, Egrets, Coati, Lizards. The landscaping is really nice, even in the dry season there were many flowers. There are papaya, banana and pineapples growing on the property. but, the path to the waterfall makes this property stand out. It is your own personal nature trail down to a beautiful private swimming hole. The property managers Diana and Dave are awesome! we arrived strangers and left friends. There are many restaurants located within 5 km. Aracari has the best sunset views and their food is fresh and excellent. We also enjoyed both Exotica and Citrus, they are located in Ojochal. After a long day out exploring Costa Rica, there is nothing like coming home, relaxing and cooking a great meal. The kitchen and outdoor patio made this a very easy task. Thank you Jennifer, for letting us share your house!

Relaxing, Private, Serene Oceanview Get Away Ojochal
This was our 3rd trip to Costa Rica. We spent a month in Ojochal at this beautiful 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bath home which sleeps 6 comfortably. The setting is very private, outstanding grounds and luxurious pool. We woke up to toucans each morning and planned our return by 4:45pm daily from all of our excursions to enjoy the pool and flocks of toucans that returned daily. Breakfast at the outdoor table was spectacular and more comfortable than dinner due to the jungle bugs at dusk.
Located in the South Pacific,up a 3.5 km winding narrow dirt road, this magical home is nestled in primary jungle about 15 minutes to Uvita, 20 km to Dominical, and 5 minutes to the village of Ojochal. Best to rent a 4x4 to maneuver all the roads. We took day trips to the Sierpe River, Corcovado and Manuel San Antonio National Park, Hacienda Baru, Villas Rio Mar, Nyacca falls and Duarte Finca and more while staying here.
A fully equipped kitchen, gas grill, gas stove and dishwasher, Smart TV and reliable internet. Each air conditioned bedroom was elegant with a private ensuite and provided a perfect getaway for 3 couples, adults. The pool is pristine, well maintained and cleaned twice weekly. The landscaping manicured and lush. The home is cleaned by Guiselle who is impeccable. house and garden style with floral arrangements.
A few tips. Absolutely drive there during the daylight if you plan to drive yourself on the first day. The house is located 3.5 hours from the San Jose airport. Cars can be rented in Uvita with Hertz and Alamo. Think about using a driver. We used Luis Parking, he is reliable and drove us to and from SJO. It's well worth the reasonable expense. Download Whats App prior to departing U.S. Everyone uses this in the area to communicate within country. There's free internet at most restaurants. Try to visit the farmers market in Uvita twice a week. It's a true farm to table experience.
Our favorite nearby restaurants; Exotica, El Castillo, Aracari Restaurant, Panaderia del frances, Cafe Fuerte Real, Villas Rio Mar for tennis and lunch, Pizza Time and La Parcela. If you're up to grilling fresh seafood, you can get fresh shrimp, across from La Parcela, there's a fresh seafood fisherman/ vendor that sells snapper, bass, shrimp and more.
The neighbors, and care keepers Diana and Dave were helpful and addressed all of our housekeeping issues or questions.
We had fun on this remote adventure, Costa Rica the way it was in 2004.

Fantastic location, home, grounds & views
We absolutely loved this beautiful & comfortable house which was close to great beaches, restaurants, the grocery store & all we needed. Tico, the outdoor resident cat was a pleasure to have around while we were outside.
The house was exactly as the pictures show on the website & contains everything you need. It is stunning. The pool is fabulous & we enjoyed floating while watching the activity of the toucans in the distance. The first morning the howler monkeys woke us up at 5 am but thankfully didn’t return until the day we were leaving. We also saw macaws, the howler monkeys & a blue morpho butterfly while lounging in the back of the house.
We enjoyed Playa Ventanas & Uvita but our favorite beach was Dominical which we went to on a Sunday when there were all sorts of vendors set up. The tapestries waving on the clotheslines in the breeze were beautiful.
Our 16 & 18 year old daughters took surf lessons from Rama’s Surf in Uvita & we cannot say enough good things about the experience. Rama had 3 young instructors to teach a group lesson. He was there as well for part of the time . My girls both got up on their first wave & had a great time.
The Wednesday farmer’s market in Uvita is highly recommended. The vendors there had the best selection & prices we found anywhere. There were also more vendors there than the one on Saturday.
We took a day trip to Cano Island which was the highlight of our vacation. We saw so much wildlife: tons of different varieties of birds, crabs, sloths, squirrel monkeys, a crocodile, a mother whale with her baby and even mating sea turtles! While snorkeling we saw Nemo & all his friends & a shark. It was a great experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed Costa Rica & would return to Ojochal & this beautiful house in a heartbeat.
