The cottage is perfect! A short walk to the quarter but far enough away to get a decent sleep. Everything was clean and the kitchen had all the amenities needed to cook meals. The back courtyard is a delightful retreat. It took me a minute to figure out the cypher locks but once I did, it was a nice added security measure. We felt safe in the location and would definitely recommend.

This is a charming 2-floor place, clean, serviceable, well-located, and with 2 baths good for a family of four. The bedrooms had no light. One has no window and the other only has French doors that can’t open and that has closed shutters. There wasn’t a lot of street noise but the French doors weren’t sealed so any sound from outside was easily heard. Perhaps that’s been taken care of. The upstairs bath needs to be corrected. It’s hard to enter the tub, and the fixed glass wall means you cannot turn on the tub unless you’re standing inside of it. This can be redone and should be; just rip out the glass wall and put in a curtain. Otherwise, this was a perfectly good place for us to stay for a 4-day weekend.

Adorable cottage in a great location! We had a blast, and really like the cute little courtyard for morning coffee and putting on our make up in natural light! We felt safe and comfortable and would go back.

We had a great trip, great place to stay. Not being used to VRBO I had trouble getting the code for the house. Also, not being real familiar with the area, we were further away from Bourbon than we expected. The walk to Bourbon WAS NOT a bad walk; I am just OLD and it was HOT!!!! LOL I highly recommend the Authentic Creole Cottage.

Very nice place surrounded by a rich history...
Maybe you will also feel the nostalgia of a time gone by .. I did...in the cottage and of course the Quarter. Ah..the Quarter...what a world.
I highly recommend...the cottage.

A perfect place for me and 3 friends (all from different cities) to meet up and stay, just off the French quarter. We spent a lot of time in the courtyard and living room catching up, went on numerous walks, ate amazing food (Bijou just two blocks away took the cake for dinner and wakin bakin (?)) was a great breakfast spot in the area.
Eric is an excellent communicator and was easy to work with when we added a friend who wasn’t a part of the original guest list (who came to surprise one of our friends). Fabulous trip, thanks for being such a great host, love the neighborhood and feel of the area. -Katie

When we walked in the door we knew we were going to love this property. House has a warm and comfortable feeling and we loved the little courtyard. The stairs were a little much for me as I have a bad hip and stair climbing isn't good. We would definitely stay here again.

We celebrated a friends birthday and came down to enjoy the Mardi Gras festivities. Perfect location. Bed were firm but we are used to firm beds. Plenty of hot water. Eric was quick to reply to any needs we had, which was only one question about how to work the thermostat.
My only regret was renting a car. You can walk to everything you need and want to go to. We felt completely safe and will definitely rent this location again when we come back.

Really cute & comfortable cottage. Has everything one would need. Huge bathtub with mood lighting, staircase, wood floors and downstairs decor were my favorite parts of this home. The neighborhood is quite and an easy walking distance to French Quarters.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at this Creole cottage. The location was close enough to walk to all the action in the French Quarter, but far enough away for some quiet rest and relaxation time. We loved the combination of a historical vibe mixed with modern amenities. Eric was always just a message or call away and quickly responded to all of our questions or concerns.

This is a cute house that sleeps 4 adults very comfortable! The location is not far from the quarter. The check in was so easy! And the contact was available and provided restaurant tips. The courtyard was a perfect place for coffee or a cocktail !

My dad had never been to New Orleans, so we surprised him for his 80th birthday milestone. The Cajun Cottage in Treme was so lovely and charming — perfect walking distance to the French Quarter, Cafe Du Monde, St. Louis Cemetery, the World War II Museum, and streetcar rides to countless shops and restaurants — Eric was such a gracious and kind host. We're immeasurably grateful for such a wonderful experience in New Orleans and highly recommend.

Very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood. Very easy access to all NOLA attractions, about a 5 minute drive to the Quarter, walking distance to Louis Armstrong Park. Great communications with the host. Added bonus: a very serene garden area in the back of the house. Beds were comfortable, all amenities are as listed.

Great location - less than 15 mins walk to Frenchman or Bourban street
This creole cottage is in a really convenient location. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Some things we liked:
- location, location, location - you can walk pretty much anywhere and we felt ok to walk at night in groups
- nice outside space but we didn’t use given the thunderstorms and steamy weather
- good communication with property manager
- helpful welcoming binder with history about the neighborhood and streets
Things that could be improved:
- pantry is not well stocked. No coffee filters (we bought and left some) or even olive oil.
- downstairs bathroom toilet is not sealed and leaks. The shower and kitchen sink also do not have hot water.
- not a ton of light in the house (the main bedroom has no windows) and the stairs are hard to navigate if you have any injuries (I’m getting over a knee injury).
- beds are not comfortable and pillows are low quality. I ended up sleeping on the sleeper sofa one night since the bed upstairs was so uncomfortable but the sofa wasn’t better and linens weren’t provided beyond a comforter for it.
- there is a washer but the dryer part of it doesn’t work. Pro tip: if you hang your wet clothes by the ac, they should be dry in a couple of days.
- checkout time is earlier than most VRBOs (10 am).
Overall, we enjoyed our experience but probably wouldn’t book this property again due to the uncomfortable beds.

Close to French Quarter
This property is very eclectic and cute. However, the small outside patio needs to be cleaned, the chairs and table are rusty and should be cleaned before guests arrive. Also twin beds need to be updated, they are not comfortable at all. Everything else was great

Overall a great property. Location is great within walking distance of the French Quarter or Frenchman Street. Relatively safe and quiet neighborhood. Charming accommodations with a few quirks, like the light switch that is about 3 inches from the ceiling in one of the bedrooms, light switches for bathroom are both inside and outside of the bathroom, very weird placement of a shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom and some mildew in the grout of the tiles in both showers but nothing too gross, the ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms doesn't work but it might if we were able to flip the switch that was near the ceiling. ;) The kitchen is very well stocked but most of the pans had handles that were falling off and need replaced and as a short person, I needed to ask someone who is tall to reach any of the glasses and plates since they were too high up for me to reach and no step stool. Nothing that couldn't have been managed though. The very best part of the rental was the back courtyard and being able to relax anytime of day in beautiful surroundings. The beds were comfortable too. Like I said, quirky, yet wonderful....just like New Orleans. I would rent again.

Great girlfriend's getaway!
We just came back from a girlfriend's trip to NOLA, and just loved this property. Even with having to reschedule FOUR times due to the pandemic and Hurricane Ida, Eric was very patient with us and always accommodated our plans and adjustments. It was well worth the wait because this cottage was perfect, start to finish. It's located in a great little neighborhood with friendly people and quiet at night. We walked everywhere and took an Uber only twice when it was late at night to return home from over a mile away. Cottage has everything you could want and more. Nice touches include supplies for coffee, basic toiletries, ample paper goods, and soft beds. Entire unit was very clean and well appointed. We loved sitting out in the private courtyard in the mornings to have coffee or a cocktail in the evening before heading out to dinner. We made a grocery stop on the way in for drinks and snacks, and walked to lots of great local restaurants and bars in the area. I would absolutely recommend this property and appreciated all of Eric's great communication.

Great Louisiana vibe and close to all
Eric was an outstanding communicator and very responsive. The house smelled nice and clean and did not disappoint. It was well appointed with all necessities and extras. We were a party of 4 women and we walked everywhere and felt safe. We enjoyed living like a local. Eric's very detailed email and house binder were full of recommendations and history, much appreciated.
