The grounds we’re beautiful
The staff isn’t personable as you find in smaller boutique hotels. It feels like a business at this hotel. Staff is very nice but almost robotic. Sad

Ambiance and old world charm
Wait staff were not attentive at tea service, the spice route and particularly during breakfast. Seems under staffed or in need of training. The breakfast setup didn’t feel 5 star.

My stay at the Imperial Hotel Delhi was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived, the luxurious ambiance and impeccable service wowed me. The elegantly designed room provided a comfortable haven, and the culinary offerings were a true treat for my taste buds. The hotel's central location made exploring the city a breeze, and returning to the hotel felt like coming home to luxury and comfort. It was an unforgettable experience that I would gladly repeat. Enjoyed watching my grandson's pure joy as he splashed in the pool.
I don't recollect experiencing any inconsistencies. If there were any, they were overshadowed by the overall exceptional experience and the hotel's dedication to providing a luxurious and memorable stay.

The pool, the breakfast, the hotel in general, location and all the amenities: As if that were not enough, the staff that work in the hotel are extremely warm and friendly: they make you feel better than at home

The true definition of luxury : This hotel is very spacious, extremely calm (which for Delhi is unconventional), restaurants are excellent, staff is the best (front desk, room service people I had the chance to interact with were extremely helpful and kind), services are very high end (beautiful spa, great pool, modern gym).
Every corridor is set as an exhibition of paintings, etchings and old furnitures, so you can just wonder around and basically discover something new every day :)
Basically the best place to stay in Delhi.

Location was great, and surface level aesthetics are brilliant and Rahul @ F&B was very attentive.
Expected a better breakfast and food quality for such high prices. The Smoked Salmon on toast had the slightest sliver of cream cheese that you couldn’t taste, with no lemon and no seasoning. The smoked salmon had only texture and very little taste. I asked for dill on top and was brought extra capers (I gave up trying to explain in the end).
The mattresses are harder than other hotels, and the bidet is on the wrong side of the toilet.
The staff are trained to upsell to the point of lying, and on 2 occasions when asking for an Innova / Crestor, they told me there was only a BMW X5 available at double the price, but upon a push they admitted there were indeed other Hotel cars available. Do guests expect to be lied to? The evening snack, room, breakfast and 4 hours of car usage costed 37,000 INR and an insult to my intelligence.
Word for the wise: Book the Shangri La next door. You get better service.

Room and room service/cleanliness was wonderful. The food in 1911 and Spice Route was marvelous. We also loved the pool and spa.
I can't think of anything.

Breakfast divine! Huge selection of Indian and Western breakfast a la carte options - the waffles and dosa were wonderful! The chai tea was good but could be sweeter, but that's my preference. The earl gray tea was tasty.
The rooms were cool, clean and spacious. The smell of jasmine waffled aorund the hotel was beautiful.
All the staff were very helpful and professional.
A few of the younger staff in the bar were fighting and arguing with each other. I think the small in stature boy got offended by something. We had to wait 10 minutes to get served at the bar.
The complimentary nuts at the bar and in the room were not fresh so we passed on eating them due to hygiene.

Stunning luxury decor, beautiful pool, lovely breakfast and excellent service - in particular we’d like to shoutout Sachin on the bar who not only made excellent drinks but really made our stay at The Imperial - so much so we returned later in our trip!

The Imperial Hotel is an elegant oasis and a home away from home. The hotel employees are charming, welcoming and happy and completely unobtrusive. The whole palace smells like lilies and the rooms are old-fashioned gorgeousness (but still have all mod cons, like USB posts by the bed and desk and the hotel amenities listed on the TV).

I am glad that the hotel made a note of my suggestions for breakfast time from my last stay here. The staff came to the table to ask for the hot beverages and if I requested for some fresh hot items, I was well taken care of.
It is a really beautiful hotel which I had experienced earlier and now was glad my family could also experience and enjoy it thoroughly.
Loved the high tea ( Charlie) served at the Atrium. Delicious snacks!

This is not a hotel. It is a museum really. It is an architectural masterpiece really. Every corner is loaded with history
Sometimes staff can be pushy to use services, in a nice way. But it can be irritating.
Also, there is so many service charge and room service charge that only appear in the final bill.

The quality of everything was top notch: service, room, food, and pool. As an architect, I especially appreciated the quality of the design, construction, finishes, and furnishings of the building. The tall ceilings, high-contrast white walls and dark furnishings, and highly polished exquisite marbles in the neoclassical wings - were equally rivaled by the perfection and high-quality Art Deco detailing of the other portions of the building. The interior of the Spice Route restaurant and the tour we received of it by staff was also stunning. My husband, an artist, and I also greatly enjoyed the museum-like atmosphere of all the historic prints on the walls. We wandered the halls admiring them. The concierge was also especially helpful at arranging an excellent day trip for us to Agra. Location was walkable to the Jantar Mantar observatory and to Connaught Circle.
The mid-May heat index over 110 degrees Fahrenheit was daunting but the hotel was always cool, clean and welcoming. It did however mean that we needed to do laundry more frequently and in addition to the by-the-piece pricing which is typical of 5-star hotels, I would have appreciated being able to do some bulk laundry. Also- I could always use a few more hooks in the bathroom on which to hang towels for re-use.
