The building isn't suitable for those needing accessibility.

The hotel is in a beautiful old building. Close to public transport and the city centre. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room and a good coffee machine in reception. The staff were always super friendly and helpful. My single room was small but comfortable. The bathroom was nearby and was always spotless. Having a sink in the room was very helpful.

My only suggestion would be to have hooks on the back of the bathroom and shower doors for hanging one's clothes. Also I found the pillows to be a bit hard.

Blocked gutters meant rain water fell noisily outside all night. There are literally plants growing in the gutters! Shower has mold growing on it. Cobwebs in the corners of the room. Walls very thin. Room quite cramped for £90

It's very very good hotel, very cozy, clean and nice. The staff is very friendly and nice. The location is perfect between the university and the town center, not far away from either of them. In addition, the good price also includes fantastic breakfast.

The only weakness of this hotel is that the toilet and shower room are shared. Except that, I like all.

The double bed was comfortable and Cody. There was lots of hot water for a shower. Both kettle and TV worked very well.

There was a lack of flat surfaces in the bedroom on which to place laptops, handbags, wallets, make/up tourist guides, phones, shopping bags and all the usual guest paraphernalia.

I liked that the hotel was central, clean warm (a little to warm) and comfortable.

When the room got too hot I couldn't turn the heating down.

Booking.com doesn't have the right images of the room I stayed in. I thought I was getting a desk in my room but I didn't have one, so I felt a bit misled. This room desperately needs updating, I noticed some safety hazards.

Friendly staff and good location on quite a quiet road walking distance from everywhere. Parking was easy with car park opposite. We needed to extend our stay and they were really helpful.

I think they are under new ownership and that improvements are planned - hope so as they are really needed! So outdated and in need of a refit. Torn carpets and 1980s bathrooms. Also dirty, especially carpets and windows in need of a clean, but also dust on top of the room kettle. Main problem though was noise. Room 16 - ground floor by front door - almost impossible to sleep in due to front door banging all night. Walls so thin you can hear every word (and burp) from (drunk) neighbours and we had to get up at 4am to ask one group to be quiet. Wish we'd paid a bit more for another guesthouse and had got some sleep.

Great place in a perfect location with attentive & professional staff

It was my third stay at the bendene. Room was very clean and cosy, comfy beds and nice bathroom. Water pressure in the shower was lovely and overall just really nice.

Very friendly, helpful and accomodating reception staff, lovely room and great location.

The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable, but I did find an extra spare one on the Cudboard that was soft and comfortable.
