The location is definitely its main asset - very near the National Library which I was researching in plus the main attractions on or near the Royal Mile
The check in was awful with 2 separate codes and (on arrival and departure) a 3rd code for the key. Kept getting stressed that I had forgotten to bring the paper with the codes on and then there was the problem of holding a phone light to try and see the buttons. One other small thing was the coat hangers on a rail. I could only hang one jacket as they cannot be removed so I couldn't hang rugby shirts, jumpers, trousers etc

I liked the honest detailed description of the flat, that there were steep stairs which lacked a handrail, so I was prepared. The room had everything I needed and more with a bottle of water, a gift of biscuits, comfy bedding and even though it was full Edinburgh Festival time, as the flat is at the other side of the Jolly Judge courtyard, it was silent and dark.
I didn’t like the steep spiral stairs and that there was no handrail, but that’s because I had a leg injury a few years ago.

Great location!!! Near the Mound and the Castle. Lots of restaurant’s around. I recommend Deacon Brodies.
Bed wasn’t very comfortable and carpet had bits stuck in it. Parking is way down the hill.
