On the booking.com website they show you nice photos of a nice detached villa with privacy and a private swimming pool. But that was not the villa we got. We got a terrace villa. The activities for the children only focus on small children (up til 4 years). But there was nothing there for older children (5 to 15 years).

Conveniently located for the golf course

Apartment was not that clean,WiFi was not working ,dishwasher was not working.No duvets on beds.Very little packing space in bedrooms.Had to supply our own gas bottle for barbeque.

The location, great golf courses. The property was clean and the staff at hotel Camiral was very friendly.

The accomadation, there were now towel rails or hooks to hang up our towels and in the second bathroom there was a bathtub but if you wanted to take a shower you had to hold up the shower head ... not very convenient. Also I felt very exposed as there were no curtains or anything so who ever was taken a bath was seen from the apartments opposite the flat. There was an apple tv, but no remote. Only one towel pr. persons, which is not enough for a weeks stay even though you have a washer. No sun beds in the garden just some sofa who had seen better days. Very large tree that blocked the sun, so the patio was not used very much. The bedrooms were very small, i.e. when you opened the closets you could not get by and it felt a bit claustrophobic.

We have visited this resort on a number of occasions staying in 2 bedroom apartments, Hotel Camiral and on this occasion Lavida Hotel (see separate reviews) and a 1 bedroom apartment (1-304) which we believe to be the only 1 bedroom apartment available for renting and which is the subject of this review. This apartment overlooks the 18th green of the stadium course but the view of the green is largely obstructed by trees. The sunsets can be spectacular and although clean and relatively modern there were so many issues with the apartment that the overall PGA management co-ordinated to arrange for us to move into the Hotel Camiral after our first night. A superior double room in the hotel with breakfast was less expensive than the apartment and although a smaller floor area the quality and comfort was vastly superior.

The problems we experienced were: The hot water in the shower was insufficiently hot. The bed was too wide for the available space so it was directly alongside the glass panel to the shower so there was no access on that side. Even so there was no bedside table on the other side. One of the cupboards in the bedroom was locked and there were no shelves in the other cupboard. There was no rack for drying clothes. The kitchen utensils were poor and few but most of the kitchen drawers were empty. The scissors were broken in 2 halves and unusable; there was only 1 bowl suitable for cereal so we could not eat this together; the coffee machine leaked; the milk frother had no whisk and the bottom was burned; neither of the kitchen knives would even cut a tomato. There were no tea towels to dry the washing up. The cupboards above the sink were too deep so, unless very short, you would hit your head on them as you tried to use the sink. The breakfast bar was fitted back to front so there was no space for your legs when sitting on the bar stools but the necessary space was on the kitchen side. This could easily be turned round. The settee was very deep and uncomfortable but a few cushions might make this acceptable. The general impression was that this was not a professionally presented apartment but was trying to command inappropriate rent levels on the reputation of the entire resort.

As a non owner we were treated right from the start as 2nd class citizens. This should have been made clearer upfront. Even to use the gym it was an extra 20 euros. We also had to remove all rubbish off the resort otherwise it was a 40 euro fine per bag!
