A tasty and well delivered breakfast was enjoyed by all in our party. The location is safe and secure in a secure area.

Bar choices were limited with very few choices to choose from. However, our host made every effort to accommodate us.

Comfortable and low key. Pool was nice, staff were attentive, and the location was great in a safe neighbourhood surrounded by embassies but not far from the beach. Room was stylish and bed was comfortable.

Would’ve liked additional toiletries in the bathroom. Would be nice if there were an after-hours contact number. Really would’ve liked an in-room safe for my computer.

Breakfast was superb. Staff very helpful.

You can’t make you own cup of coffee in your room. You have to wait and ask the staff every time for coffee, day or night. Maybe a kettle and a couple of sachets of coffee in the room could solve this.

We stayed at JG twice: for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip and one night at the end. Positives: helpful transfer from airport (with a fab taxi driver who we used multiple times thereafter), great breakfast, lovely pool and lounge area, great room the first time round (by the pool, lots of space). Kitchen staff were lovely and very friendly. They were flexible about keeping our bags for us when we went away and Yvonne was super helpful in organising a massage for my partner. They were also understanding with our early arrival and letting us have breakfast straight off the plane.

Our second stay was not great: the room was a suite (ergo more expensive) but was right by reception, with a private terrace facing the front drive/car park. It was dimly lit, next to a hamster cage (cute, but not right by a bedroom), with mildew on the ceiling and squashed mosquitoes in the shower that hadn’t been cleaned off. On both stays, it felt like we were inconveniencing reception staff sometimes, and the service felt a bit cold compared to other places we stayed at in Mozambique. When we arrived back they acted as if they’d never met us before, and it felt a shame to have that on our last night. When booking, I’d recommend a poolside room. Don’t book the suite, it’s a waste of money.
