What a lovely guest house. We enjoyed our stay and the proximity to downtown.

Staff is very friendly and attentive. Coffee was delicious. Bar area is lovely, and all the amenities and furnishings are well-appointed.

Great location and wonderful ambience! Staying during the week days was especially fun with the jazz night on Wednesday!

This property did not meet expectations for a few reasons: 1) the hotel felt more like a “bar with rooms upstairs” than a “hotel with a bar”. While the bar closed at 10:00PM…there was loud talking and laughing until near 10:45PM. 2) the room was quite small with barely enough room to open suitcases and maneuver. 3). The grounds were muddy and not impressive…including an unpaved parking lot. 4) Lastly, while the room was clean, my wife found the pillow to be too firm and not sleep-worthy.

One of the best Boutique hotels i ever stayed at, Very clean, beautiful rooms with a personal touch, excellent personable staff, and the specialty drinks they created were absolutely perfect. Will definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The furnishings and fixtures were tasteful and functional. We especially appreciated the heated floors and the versatile shower hardware. Having the bar downstairs was fun and convenient. It was an intimate yet lively space. There would sometimes be a live band performing and it was nice being able to sit and listen in cozy sofas and armchairs. The bartenders served up some interesting and tasty drink options, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. The staff was friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the solarium room and the self-serve coffee machine. It was a delight being able to choose from a variety of options, including cappuccino, cafe macchiato, cafe latte, and espresso, all at the push of a button. They even provided teas and orange choice in small mini fridge next to the coffe maker. Every morning, we’d walk to the local deli down the street and pick up some breakfast items to take back and enjoy with our coffee and juice in the solarium, before we’d head off on our adventures for the day. The inn was conveniently located close to downtown and Ithaca Commons, so we rarely had to drive anywhere, except to visit the many state parks and wineries in the area. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend The Argos Inn to anyone coming out to Ithaca and the Cayuga/Seneca Lake area

Interesting place! Old world charm with trendy decor and drink menu. A couple quirky room things (light bulb out, remote wouldn't turn TV on) and felt the hall door to overnight guest area should have been locked during bar hours. Also wish bartenders were able to make off-menu drinks (espresso available in solarium, martini on the menu, but can't make espresso martinis???). Staff was friendly and responsive. Walkable to Ithaca Commons. Overall, a great option when staying in Ithaca!

Staff and service were first-rate. The bar on the first floor was convenient and cozy. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Staff made every effort to accommodate requests. There is no elevator, but front staircase is solid, has a good bannister, and is not too steep; for most, it can be navigated without too much effort. Outdoor yard at hotel and next door event area can use landscaping and trimming, and due to current road construction in the area, getting in and out of the parking lot sometimes requires maneuvering. However, parking is right outside the door, and there is a nice lighted area on the patio and in the back for enjoying drinks and conversation. This is an older property that is generally well-maintained and offers plenty of amenities like complimentary coffee, tea, cocoa and goodies - and a microwave - always available in the solarium on the first floor, and freshly-picked flowers every day. It is immaculately clean and retains an old-world charm that makes staying there a pleasure. In addition, it is within walking distance to shopping, entertainment, and a wide variety of dining choices. It is near waterfalls, gorges, museums and colleges, with nearby Cornell University offering a gorgeous arboretum and well-maintained botanical garden as part of its horticultural program. There was more to do than could ever be done, and we loved it all! Argos has become an old friend, and we hope we can return before long!

Very clean, pleasant staff great bar

They are understaffed, so we had some trouble getting the keys and getting checked in (we arrived just a little after 8 pm and they didn't have anyone available after 7 pm, and calls to the On-Call Manager were not answered). Once we did get in, the room smelled very musty and was a bit dusty. We understand it's an older property, but we didn't feel it was as well maintained or cleanly as it could be. Frankly, we were very unimpressed, couldn't understand why it has higher ratings, and wouldn't recommend staying here.

It was clean and quiet. Newer air conditioners was efficient and not too noisy. There should be mini fridges in each room. The desk clerk could have been a little more helpful/knowledgeable for directions, etc.

The Inn itself was amazing! We loved the unique decor, we had a great time enjoying the bar outside at night and then had a quiet cup of coffee in the beautiful, sunny sunroom in the morning. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the bed, which we both found uncomfortable; the mattress was quite stiff and the pillows were small and not supportive. But other than the bed we loved everything and would stay again (but would choose a different room and hope for a better bed)!

The Argos Inn was a wonderful stay. The rooms are comfortable and homey and the lobby bar was a great space to hang out. We also had drinks in their Warehouse bar space across the parking lot which was a lot of fun. Its all in easy walking distance to the Commons -- would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Excellent stay

Fantastic feel and decor.

Pretty, inviting and great ambiance

Overall the Inn and service were top-notch, with the only exception being the $30 charge for the Daybed linens. On the Hotel.com site, they only say there is a charge for a rollaway bed/cart, the daybed was the reason I book that specific room.

Beautiful old building that has been modernized. I really enjoyed my stay. The architecture is amazing with 12 feet high ceilings in every room. Winding staircases, plenty of sitting rooms. We enjoyed exploring the place while having a nice glass of wine.

Beautiful & reminiscent of a beautiful bygone era with modern conveniences

I absolutely love the Argos Inn! This was my 2nd time staying there, and I want to come back again! It is quaint, adorable, and the staff are really great! I love the little bar inside, and the drinks are yummy! I highly recommend the Argos Inn!

Argos Inn exceeded our expectation in all areas. This historic building was very tastefully renovated and decorated and the rooms and the common areas were simply beautiful and cozy. The outdoor area and the bar was multi level and settled in the woods. Service was perfect. We will only rebook this inn when we travel to Ithaca in the future.

So precious. Such attention to details for both the space and service. Fantastic styling in and surrounding the beautiful building. Felt welcomed and super comfortable, I loved everything, especially having a latte in the sunny solarium in the morning. (Ok, actually had 3 cuz it was so nice to be there :D) Enjoyed a creative cocktail at the wonderful outdoor bar on a nice summer night, too. Can't wait to stay again!

The property and hotel are beautiful! However, your room is right above a bar! It is LOUD! They had a private event on Friday, so we’re not allowed downstairs - would like to have known this when booking! There is zero hotel safety anyone can walk in or walk up stairs they do not check! We found random people hanging out upstairs in the common area. Parking is limited when they have a function. Loud guests after 2am and staff does nothing to quiet them. You can hear every noise throughout this whole inn. Save your money and book at the Marriott down the street

A lively interesting place easy to walk to grab a bite and easy to get in and out of town.

Argos Inn was a totally unique, super-cool place to stay. We loved it. Everything was perfect - communication, decor, ease of check in/out, cleanliness...truly a remarkable place to stay.

This hotel is absolutely amazing in almost every way. The rooms are chic, the outside space is beautiful, the bar is fabulous. On-site parking is very convenient. The only downside to the place is the rooms on the first floor. The outside bar is located right outside the windows and therefor make it very loud at night until the bar closes. If you don’t mind staying awake until midnight, otherwise make sure to book a room on the second floor.
