No one was at the front desk originally, I had to hunt people down in the bar to ask about parking and only after I returned from the parking did I see an employee.
There was absolutely no soap, body wash, or shampoo in the bathroom.
Quiant place, I might have just gotten unlucky. I would try again.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We were quite dissappointed. The tv in the bathroom did not work. We could not figure out how to use the bidet so we called the front desk, she had no idea how to use it. We finally figured it out on day 2 of our stay. Day 1 breakfast was just ok. After we got our food then a lady came out and offered omelets. Day 2 breakfast noone was around. no plates, no coffee, no water. We thought there was an awful smell in the hall. I don't think we will stay here again expecially for the price.

privacy & intimacy, old world charm

The rooms were good but I guess I expected a more elevated experience. It felt like a Marriott hotel room with just more features but it was not really an elevated luxury experience. The breakfast was not good. I wish I walked to the restaurant next door. It was a standard Holiday Inn type meal but the fruit was soggy and the eggs, sausage etc seemed like it was microwaved.

Beautiful old building that has been well maintained. Better than most newer facilities

Nice little property, close to our favorite restaurant, Tony’s. Staff were friendly rooms were clean and the wife loved the bidet. Not much of a view but only 3 stories, mostly enjoyed the old feel of the gables while still being modern.. z

Friendly staff in bar and restaurant. Breakfast was a joke, no silverware and no personal to be found. The whole place needs a big more professional service

This is my second stay at 7 Gables.I love the area and the feel of 7 Gables.A lot of flowers& greenery in the courtyard.
The rooms are simple yet elegant.
The staff were welcoming & friendly!
I hope to continue to come back occasionally when in the Stl area!

I really liked the quaintness of this recently renovated gem of a property in Clayton. The bar, Seven, on property was charming and our room was nicely appointed and renovated. Unfortunately, we did not have a working toilet (wouldn’t flush) the entire stay and had to use the lobby toilet. Hoping some portion of our stay will be refunded, as our rooms were somewhat pricey.

Charming little hotel, lots of things within easy walking distance. We paid for an upgraded room and I only wish that there had been a window, felt a bit like a cave inside the room.

This appears to be a property still in transition. The room was clean and the bathroom very nice with the large shower and Toto bidet. The bad and bedding were very comfortable. The staff was pleasant but made it clear we used a “third party” to book our room.
However, there were no signs or communication that the room was only cleaned every 3 days. imagine our surprise coming back to our room to find out there were no clean towels, bed not made and bath amenities not replaced. The towels in the room when we checked in were only a bit above a Motel 6 towel. when we complained about the room and poor towels, we were given two plush towels. Also the windows that would allow the sunshine in were in the bathroom, so the room was a bit dark in the morning.
Staff seemed a bit disorganized with the breakfast arrangements, Moving buffet mid meal from one room to the restaurant.
Will have think about whether to return after they get more settled and organized.

Beautiful boutique hotel with friendly staff and comfortable beds and heated toilet seat! Can’t ask for anything better!

Staff are wonderful. Very customer focused.

I loved the cozy atmosphere. I hated the parking across the street in a dark alley. It was hard to relax because I was worried about our belongings in the car.

Property is located in a very nice area and is unique. Rooms had impressive upgrades. Staff was friendly and stay was very pleasant.

Hotel is lovely room fabulous but city of Clayton needs to limit to construction noise - 6a is too early for that level of noise

Seven Gables is in Clayton which is easy access to St Louis. Area is great with restaurants and shopping. Hotel has been renovated and extremely nice with friendly staff. Not a large property. Only downside is the WIFI connection. It is extremely poor. Everything else was great! Will definitely rebook

I stayed here for one night while there was construction going on across the street from the hotel. That added some grit to the surroundings of the hotel.
They have signage for valet parking, but there was no valet. The parking lot contained very tight spaces. Overall the hotel was clean, but most of the hallways and elevator doorways were pretty narrow.

Our stay at Seven Gables Inn was excellent. The property is adorable and the rooms are in great condition! My husband especially loved the heated toilet seat and TV in the bathroom mirror. The staff was friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back.

Noticed after booking that you have to check in before 9pm. We had to adjust our plans a bit. Not sure what you would do if you show up late.
The room is updated and comfy. Enjoyed our stay. No gym but 2 min walk to Shaw Park.

It’s a quaint and well kept hotel with exceptionally nice staff.

The hotel room had no artwork and left exposed nails in the wall with nothing on them. The hotel refrigerator was completely iced over - I spend about 20 minutes defrosting the freezer and cleaning the floor, so we could transfer our cooler items. I asked for a restaurant recommendation and the front desk really had no ideas. Also, check in was very generic - no information about the hotel or area. I never even knew they had coffee available until I happened to see it around the corner on my way out - day 2. The heated toilet seat was a surprise, but it was actually too hot, so a little weird. We were there 2 nights and an alarm went off in the middle of the night both nights. Handheld shower sprayer was broken.
The hotel was lovely though - there was a cute courtyard of some kind - maybe as part of the bar? The room was really quiet (other than the alarm). The shower/bath combo was a neat concept.

Beautiful property. Historic aspects maintained

Historic building more like a Bed and Breakfast without the breakfast. Loved the heated toilet seat with built in bidet!

I have stayed here for years. However, the staff is short handed and rooms are not made up during stay. Only on check out. Also, the hot water was out in one room so I had to change rooms. That room took 10 mins of water running before it got hot. I am from drought country and it’s hard to let it run for so long…

Unique building and beautiful large rooms. Great bathroom my husband loved the heated toilet seat!

Air conditioner rattled all night long making sleep difficult. TV was mounted on a side wall, rather than the wall opposite the bed, so watching it was difficult. The desk clerk did not even know what a wake-up call was and could not provide us with one. We had stayed here several times in the past and were always pleased with the experience, but this visit was particularly disappointing.

We had several family members stay here for a special occasion and all were pleased with their stay! The rooms were nice (especially the bathrooms, which include heated toilet seats, bidets, and TV screens), the staff were very welcoming and helpful and the hotel restaurant was also very nice. Highly recommend.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The “premium” room was supposed to have a fridge & microwave but neither were there. The bathroom was so amazing it makes up for everything. I wasn’t expecting the tv in the bathroom mirror or the self cleaning, lighted & heated seat bidet. The shower was massive and the entire bathroom was high end and very nice.
The small restaurant downstairs was nice. Kinda pricey but food and staff were good. Never encountered anyone that wasn’t friendly while there. It was a nice change from your normal chain hotels that are all close to the same. I would stay there again.

Amazing experience. The room was amazing, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was completely re-done, with heated toilet seat (my wife's favorite part) a truly great shower (first time I have said that about a hotel shower in a long time), the bed was comfortable and the service was great. Can't wait to return.

We had a great stay at the Inn. It was easy to walk to several places, including our meeting destination, and there are some beautiful nearby neighborhoods to take a nice stroll. The Inn was very accommodating, and provided what they could, but there was no breakfast as advertised by Hotel.com, and we had to ask for coffee (which they willingly provided). The room was beautiful and the inn was very quiet. The restaurant was closed on Monday when we stayed.

In room 214 the ceiling leaks really bad in the bathroom , and they wouldn’t give me any money back

I found this hotel after stopping by the Dolly Marcy Irish pub and decided to stay there on my next visit to St Louis. I’ve been back four times and can’t help but continue to stay at this hotel. It is quant and charming from the curb to the rooms. If you are looking for a unique stay book it now and also enjoy the best glass of Guinness St. Louis has to offer!
