This was an upstairs apartment in a house. The first few days were quiet. I did not see any bugs in the house. There was an air-conditioner for when the temperatures were hot (I only used it a couple of times). The kitchen was functional (eventually), and it was nice having a place to stay so close to where I needed to be.

I made my booking around noon. Check in time was to be 3:00pm. I received what looked like an automatic message saying what the rules were, where the house was, and that the host would send me a door key to enter. When I arrived I still had not heard from the host, and there was no way to get in. I messaged Booking.com asking for help, but just received auto-replies telling me to contact the host. I called again, texted and messaged again but no reply. Finally, I found a nearby motel (it was already 8pm and I was tired from driving). When I arrived at the motel, I finally got a message from the host with the door-code and cautions against smoking and loud noise. So, I turned around and went back and was able to get in. It was around 9pm by this time. I had booked the place for a week, and I was losing confidence. #### The house was relatively clean, however, the toilet was constantly running, and the bathroom sink leaked all over the floor if used. I messaged the host about these issues but never received a response. Finally, I just made a sign to remind myself not to use the bathroom sink, and went to a hardware store and bought a new flapper for the toiled and installed it, which fixed the issue with the toilet running. I also purchased a lightbulb and an extension cord so I could actually use the microwave, coffee maker, stove and refrigerator (previously they all shared one very short extension cord and you had to pick which appliance to plug in at at time). A few days later a family came to stay in the lower apartment. They smoked, had screaming kids (literally screaming frequently), and played the tv at high volumes. Lastly, there was supposed to be a washer and dryer to use, but when I went into the basement there was old laundry and garbage all over. The washer was full of brown liquid with old bedding soaking in it. I quickly went back upstairs and never went down there again. I found a coin-laundry nearby called Laundry In the D.

This is a scam! they tried to keep my deposit. Their damage deposit is $500 which they’ll try to keep. There was nothing to like in this property. Its a old house in a very bad location. Its like a haunted house. This place looks good on pic but it’s a disaster. When I arrived I messaged them saying that I couldn’t stay because it was filthy and there was only a small ac in the room so I wouldn’t be able to sleep, They never replied. They didn’t answer the phone either.. after my horrible stay I waited 7 days for them to send my deposit back but they didn’t send I text and called many times but no answer.. I called booking and they told me to wait another 5 days because they’d be asking them for my money after 3 days they send back my money if I wouldn’t have called booking they’d have kept my money.

Don’t stay here!! There’s roaches everywhere they climb the wall, the sink, the cabinets everywhere there’s a lot of roaches everywhere. I don’t know how this property is listed. Please see pictures.
