The social enterprise aspect of this hotel is amazing. The staff were welcoming and helpful. After travelling for a while, it was great to be able to cook in the kitchen which was fully stocked with utensils and pots/ pans.

It is mentioned in many reviews, but as the heating is on all day it is very hot in the rooms. It seemed wrong for the radiators to be so hot and have the windows open whilst it snowed.

Good location with stunning views. The kitchen has everything you need. Just buy your own ingredients.

The place is quite old but not bad for the value.

1) La localisation (5 mn à pied au centre-ville), 2) L'amabilité du personnel, surtout des dames à l'accueil lors de mon arrivée le 7/10/23 et de mon départ le 9/10/23 ("Sam").

D'abord le manque d'équipements (sauf pour le wifi qui marchait) d'où le manque de confort dans la chambre : je savais que la salle de bains se trouvait à l'extérieur de la chambre et devait être partagée avec d'autres, MAIS dans la chambre même j'aurais apprécié une petite machine à café comme on en trouve dans pratiquement toutes les chambres d'hôtel en Amérique du Nord. Il y avait, à un étage inférieur, une machine à boissons (relativement chères) mais pas de café, il fallait donc sortir carrément de l'établissement pour son petit-déjeuner. EN PLUS et SURTOUT, le chauffage était très fort et quand je suis descendue demander à la dame de l'accueil si on pouvait l'abaisser dans ma chambre, elle m'a expliqué que ce n'était pas possible à cause de l'âge et de la vétusté des radiateurs et du système global de chauffage du bâtiment : j'ai donc dû dormir avec les fenêtres à moitié ouvertes malgré la température fraîche à l'extérieur. FINALEMENT : très mauvais rapport qualité-prix, LE PIRE que j'ai jamais payé sur Booking.com surtout pour une chambre avec salle de bains partagée et se trouvant à l'extérieur de la chambre (ce fait est aggravé par le fait que sur l'internet j'ai trouvé, à ce moment-là, un prix -pour le même type de chambre, dans le même hôtel- qui était la moitié de celui de Booking.com !!).

Location is excellent, and has enough parking.

Main thing is that there is very little sound dampening between rooms - very easy to hear everything in the adjacent rooms and hallway. Price is also a little high compared to the value given the shared bathrooms.

I stayed at YWCA Banff hotel as a solo traveller for 4 nights, the room that I booked was double with private bathroom. The whole experience was amazing, I felt safe all the time, staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the hotel is based central, very well looked after building, surrendings and bedrooms. The hotel also supports local shelter, I would like to make it clear they support the local shelter and there is no shelter at the hotel itself, so staying at YWCA Banff hotel helps the community which I find the idea lovely. For the duration of my stay it was very quiet and I had a good sleep every night, the bed was super comfy too. If I'll ever retur to Banff, for sure I'll book this hotel again.

The only downside is no fridge in the room, especially with such a hot weather. I won't take a star off just because of that.
